  • Good but:

A few bugs here and there, big delays to show new e-mails, and some formatting issues (Polymail formats e-mails to fit them to your smartphone screen, but can mess up the arrangements). Not updated frequently.
  • Can’t view attachements

I just downloaded poly mail I have tried some of its features, I love it but when I try to view attachements it doesn’t work
  • A year in and Polymail is email for now.

So I’m about a year into using Polymail as my primary email app and I’m still recommending it to clients, colleagues and friends. Many of the features that keep me coming back can be found elsewhere, but the features + packaging I’ve grown to love.

I’m big on minimising distractions so Gmail filtering and the updates/promotions folders are win win, I love that Polymail doesn’t bug me with notifications when these emails come in.

Another win is the read & downloaded notifications. Getting the heads up when a client reads an email or downloads an invoice takes allows me to mentally file away that communication and I don’t need to spend time wondering if they ‘got that mail’.

The other big win is the Polymail desktop app and its compact view. Works nicely with Magnet to reposition to almost any size depending on part of my workflow email is currently performing.

  • Disasterous attempt to switch to Polymail

I had high hopes for Polymail given the reviews I read. I spent several hours setting up the account the way I wanted it. The problems I found so far: 1) the synching is delayed by as much as 2 hours, so an email I received in my gmail account interface would not show up in polymail for 1-2 hours later; 2) the documentation is terrible, I tried to figure out things like how to set up my folder structure and there's no documentation; 3) the folders are very hard to use. if you delete one, it deletes the entire folder and filing system in the native source as well (although doens't warn you it is doing that)- there is no capacity to move boxes around or dynamically update them other than adding new boxes and changing names; 4) the support is extremely slow and takes up to a day to reply. I hated it.

  • Good. But needs some aesthetic refining

Since Mailbox's retirement polymail has filled that void for me.

But there are still issues that need to be worked out. An uneven / unflush black space is present when you tap the menu symbol--ugly and takes away from the app.

A more interactive snooze menu would be nicer too. Not a fan of the pure numeric options.

Also please update the inbox zero photo. It's ugly and low pixilated. Small changes will make a big impact for users.

  • Best email client for serious amount of email

Polymail is a fantastic service which allows you to track who has read and email how many times and also if they have downloaded attachments. I have called clients when I receive a notification about opening my email as I know they looking at it. A very powerful way to convert sales!
  • Almost Perfect

Super cool app. Easy to use, provides lots of functionality, and looks great. It’s not perfect though. Occasionally some emails don’t show up in Polymail and I have to use Apple Mail to read it. Kind of worrying if it is an important email.
  • App can’t be used until we create user and password

The app doesn’t let us use it until we have suffered the hassle of setup of a PolyMail username and password.

    This should be optional.
  • Great concept, poor execution

If Polymail ever worked consistently, it would be fantastic. Unfortunately, not a day goes by where I don’t encounter at least a handful of issues. If you need to work fast, this isn’t the right solution for you — yet (hopefully). It’s the right idea, but when emails won’t load for hours, sync for days, and when you straight up can’t send a simple email due to some unknown error (even after restarting your phone), you can’t rely on Polymail. Seems like a classic startup case of trying to do too much, too fast. I hope these issues are resolved eventually, and I know they are trying with their many updates, but unfortunately nothing has actually improved yet. Quite possibly the opposite. Should have waited to roll out a web app until everything else worked, and worked well.

  • Don’t waste your time

    Not useable
Too many bugs, emails delivered with a huge delay, desktop app crashes
