  • Helpful tool

This app makes a complex delivery route easy to do. It allows for communication between the delivery person and the recipient without compromising the privacy of either. The map function facilitates accuracy of deliveries. The ability to record a note to identify obscure addresses is helpful. Not sure if the app suggests a sequential order for the route, if it does, this could be improved. There could be less backtracking over the route. Overall, Onfleet provides an excellent structured approach to delivering items for an amateur delivery person unfamiliar with the delivery route.

  • Great Delivery App

Pro’s and Con about this app.

    Pro:

Not sure how many company use Onfleet api but it’s probably one of the easiest to use and understand. Layout is pretty much kept to a minimal. Everything you need is right in front of you. No need to tap this button and tap that button just to bring up a map. Interface is not clutter with useless information that you don’t need. App hasn’t crash on me yet so it runs pretty smooth. Although at time it does get a bit warm almost to the point of actually hot. This is runnng off of a iPhone 12 Pro.

    Con’s:

The only con I would say about this app would be the location on toggle button at the top. When you are ready to start your delivery. You would toggle to the left or on and you will see your assign task for the day. If you don’t do that then you won’t see the task at hand. Wish I don’t have to that just to see that assign task. That’s about the only con thing I could say about this app.

So to sum it up. It’s a great app and is easy to use and learn. 5 stars to dev team and who ever else had a hand in this.

  • Has potential

I’m sorry but logistically Onfleet needs to get it together. I’ve been using this app for several yrs and I am so sick of the constant U-turns or delivering on a one way street dropping off at the end of the block to then realize the next delivery is at the beginning of the same block and this stupid app had me drive past it requiring me to now go all the way around the block to complete the next delivery. Or my all time favorite, delivering to a apartment complex to one or more customers. Leave for my next delivery only to be sent back 2 deliveries later to the same apartment complex I was at 10 minutes earlier. I have downloaded free apps from the App Store that create tighter more efficient routes than Onfleet. After completing several hundred routes all over the Bay Area and logging several thousand miles when Im contacted by a company to run a route for them and I’m told that they use onfleet I let them know that I will be using Circuit to plan my route not onfleet and on a handful of occasions when the company I’m delivering for insists on me using onfleet I politely explain my position and let them know I’m no longer available for the route I was contacted to complete and add them to my list of companies I will no longer consider for work.

As I said in the beginning….Get it together onfleet, free apps are more efficient.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback on your routes, we're sorry to hear that their order has often been frustrating. Tasks are delivered to you in the order that your dispatcher assigns them. However, we do provide tools that allow dispatchers to optimize your tasks to avoid situations like one-way streets and multiple packages at the same complex, while reducing your driving time. These optimization actions can only be performed by your dispatchers and not directly as a driver in the app, but you also have the option of starting your tasks out of order if necessary.
  • Optimization of the routes

I will be happy if optimization of the routes was better and more efficient so we will not travel with everyday traffic but opposite if possible and coming back when traffic is gone. This way i will not have to change anything and just deliver in order how app optimize for me. Other thing what is problematic when we start one task and notice its different task on the way we can’t switch bc this task is already started. Big plus will be scan in app so we don’t have to make pictures of the label if package is scan, also scan will be rejecting wrong package if we grab wrong bag by mistake. This saves us a lot of time same as volume for particular house bc it’s embarrassing if customers take delivery already and I’m noticing I have one more for the same house but it’s mark as next stop. All this will be very helpful and we can deliver faster and be off the street quicker less accidents less mistakes and more happy people more work will be done professionally. Thank you.

  • Always tracking issue

Everything about the app is great and easy to use! However, I do not like the fact that the app only works when you allow “always tracking”. If you could do “track while using” I feel it would be a better app. For now I guess I just manually take off the tracking after each of my shifts.
  • Scan-In Orders to Fulfill a Route

It would be a great value-add if you had to "fulfill" your route before you head out by scanning the correct barcodes.

Our team relies on human eyeballs, preferably two sets of human eyeballs, but we still make mistakes all the time. We go by reading the name printed on the receipt. But many humans have the same name. In addition, sometimes people place a delivery order and cancel it. Then they place another delivery order immediately after. This feature would eliminate human error in grabbing the wrong John Doe or the cancelled/incorrect order.

FYI incorrectly is always spelled incorrectly unless it's spelled incorrectly.

  • Pics on tasks

Limit the shutter trigger to only the button at the bottom of the screen……..currently it activates when you touch ANYWHERE on the screen? This results in extra pics taken erroneously. This wastes both upload speed/bandwidth and data warehouse space on the server.

Also, allow multiple pics to be selected from browse pic albums. Currently limited to 1 pic per browse causing multiple processes to select multiple pics.

Thanks for your feedback on the photo functions in the Onfleet driver app. We're always looking to improve Onfleet's functionality and hearing about your experience and how this affects your workflow is a big help.
  • Simple, Intuitive, Almost Everything you Need

It’s very easy to use: once you log in, you immediately see what tasks, if any, are assigned to you. Once you start a task, all the info about your drop-off is there: recipient name, destination notes, etc. The app gives you the ability to call or text the recipient, but it routes it through to company’s comms system, so neither your nor the recipient’s personal number is revealed.

Cons: there have been times (not many) when I needed to pause a task, complete the next task on the list, then return to the original task. This cannot be done. Once you start a task, you have to complete it, mark it as successful or failed, and then it disappears from your list. The only workaround is calling dispatch and asking them to adjust things for you.

    Other than that, four stars.

  • Can be misleading

For the most part app is great. I think it’s a good system and I like using it. However I experienced today, it kept taking me in circles. When I would get to the destination, it would reroute me. Caused a major set back today. This is due my goal to deliver all packages during my shift. I understand there’s times your not going to be able to. With people working and other things. Everyone isn’t home all at once. I was determined to find it though, and I did. Good do a little better with organization of the routes, meaning all orders in that 10 mile radius of each other. Then move further away from that area. You will sometimes find yourself being sent back to an area you were at earlier to deliver a package. May be the sub contractor of whom your working.

    Developer Response

Hi there, thanks for detailing your experience for us. We would like to look into the task where you were continually rerouted to determine if this was due to our system or your preferred navigation platform. Please get in touch with us at support@onfleet.com with any task IDs that we can look into where you experienced this kind of behavior. As to your greater routing issues, we do offer tools that your dispatchers can use to optimize your routes. Let your dispatch team know that they can reach out to our support team and we will work with them on implementing these tools to best suite your needs.
