  • Needs iOS 10 update

    Can't access map
  • Kinda a waste of an app

Not helpful in the slightest and doesn't even seem to work correctly most of the time. Not user friendly. Notifications come in all the time but then often you can't pinpoint where the shark is and you can't even find the right icon on the map. Banner notifications will notify of predation and beach closure, but when you open the app there is not a single sighting for the day? Lots of timing out, too.

  • Great information

Living in the cape area, it's amazing to understand the rise in great shark activity. Although the app is new, the daily inputs are exciting and will grow into a huge database of shark sightings that can be used to understand their trends. App is clean and straightforward with daily/weekly/monthly markers for each sighting. A fun app for any curious person who lives around the cape

  • Saved me three times already

Srsly! This app is, like, the best. It even spotted one coming up the drain into my bathtub! What will they think of next. I hope they get some iPhone 5s into the hands of some seals so they can enjoy it.
  • Sharktivity app rocks

    Love this app!
It was great to get live updates the other day when the research team was put on the water! Even actual pictures of the shark at the surface showing its amazing dorsal fin. We are early in the shark season and some good activity already! (Or should I say Sharktivity)
Can't wait for the peak of WS season.
    Great job AWSC!!!!

  • Great app!

Unlike other reviewers, I used the app for a week before making a judgement. Yes, it crashed for a couple days, but it's working now and it's great. First off, it's FREE. As a surfer, I like that the app gives me an idea of where shark activity is higher, and seems like it will only get better with time/more sightings. Also, I like that if you see a shark you can submit your own sighting. Very cool.

  • "My husband tells me you're in sharks."

For everyone mad that there were no sharks showing up on the app, check it out today! Great app! I love looking at it each day. The AWS Conservatory is doing wonderful work. Keep it up!
  • So glad this app is finally here!!

Our community has been waiting for something like this for a long time now, congrats to AWSC on developing this and to continue to support this ground-breaking research. Can't wait to see how this develops
  • Looking forward to bugs being fixed...

The app is ultimately a great idea, but there seem to be some bugs in these early days of the launch. It worked for the first couple of days, but now the issue I have is that I repeatedly get a message that says the app has timed out. As far as the reviewer being disappointed about the low number of sightings on the map, I think most people would be likely to be happy about that, lol! What's unclear is whether people have tried to report/enter sightings and have been unable to, or whether not enough people know about the app to begin with. I'm going on the assumption that it will just take some time to spread the word and work out the glitches. Complaining about a free app developed by non-techie people with good intentions seems odd to me...

  • Innovative Idea

This is such a superb idea, but the actual work put into this app was not shown. The people who have the app send if there is a spotting, and some people may simply fake it. You may want to consider waiting for the designers to fix this. Only 3 sightings in the past year? Only in Massachusetts? Unrealistic! Thank you for reading, I will be deleting, but may add this app back.
