  • Poor user offering

The app has poor planning features. If you make a book on one format say hard cover you can’t change from that so all the time you spent crafting the book you just have to chalk it up and start over. Other competitor apps let you at least Trader photos from one project to another. Definitely has a little ways to go on being less basic.

  • Zero Help

I’ve been chasing my photo book for 5 weeks now as the courier has lost it. Blurb refunded postage and that’s it, so I’ve still paid for something that never materialised. They are doing nothing to fix it. Don’t bother.
  • No upload

Took hours to upload my photos and create book. Placed my order and took my money only to them receive email saying some photos didn’t upload. When try to download again says no internet connection. Tried to contact them but no reply. Will go to credit card company to refund money.
  • Meh

Would be a lot better if you could make More then just photo books.
I know almost every self book printing company caterers to people who only want to make a book of their photos but there are those who want to publish more then just that. The company itself supports more then just photo book printing on their website and with other plug ins to adobe and with their computer app.
Why are iPad users being grouped into only one service provided?

  • Only Square-shaped albums

Blurb was recommended to me in terms of picture quality, but the lack of a mobile app which allows for rectangular albums deters me from doing business with them.

The desktop version was not user-friendly enough for my laptop, which is why it’s not an option.

I am writing this review for your team to reconsider its offers on the mobile app, and to reiterate that the limitations *are* costing your company customers.

    Developer Response

Hello, Thank you very much for reviewing our mobile app. While only two formats are available on the mobile app, you should definitely be able to choose a landscape or portrait format in BookWright, our creation tool for Mac OS and Windows PCs. However, I understand that you had some issues creating your book on your laptop. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you reach our Customer Support team here: https://support.blurb.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Our team will be happy to help! Best, Blurb Team
  • Expected more - WAY more

Blurb is a fantastic platform to create beautiful books. I typically use the Adobe Lightroom plugin and it’s brilliant. I was expecting similar with this app and to be able to create beautiful books on my iPad. It’s just way too limiting. Come on Blurb surely you can make a great app?
  • Nice Heirlooms

I write my grandchildren books and use their pictures to illustrate. They love them and it gives them a way to remember Grandma. So glad I found this app!
  • Do not waste your time or money

Ordered a book 4 weeks ago for a one week delivery and still have not received it.
No one to speak to or get in touch with.
Absolute joke of a service or lack of.
Try another avenue, this one does not work.
  • Very limited

Blurb on my PC is amazing and so flexible. The app however is really basic and doesn’t even allow me to choose different photo layouts or books sizes. Such a shame - I would use it more if it did.
  • I’ve been using Blurb for 10 yrs and now I have to find something else.

For ten years, I’ve been printing photo books through Blurb using Lightroom’s book module. Life changes, needs change, etc. This year I switched to using only an iPad and there is no book module in the mobile version of Lightroom. I have been so discouraged to see that this app only allows two size options, which means that my books can no longer be consistent. For a decade I’ve been printing 10x8 landscape sized books and now I can only choose a 7x7 or 5x5, neither of which are large enough to really display my photos well. I’m so disappointed. I thought maybe I could just go to the Blurb website and design my book there, all online, only to find that they have no iPad support! You can only do it via Mac or PC though a downloaded app which is not available in the App Store.

This is hugely discouraging to me. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and now I’ll have to find another option. Seriously, in 2021 there should absolutely be more options for creating a Blurb book via iPad.
