October updates broke the Booking date and time/ client scheduler

I have opened a ticket with Honeybook over this past weekend because the booking page within smart files is not working for me. When a client fills out the contact form on my website, they are emailed the smart file project page. Session options, Booking Page, Contract, Invoice and so forth. All of my pages are required as well so a client cannot skip them. For some reason, when a client goes through each page, booking the appointment, signs the contract and makes payment, the project comes up incomplete and I can't even mark it as completed because it says the booking page or schedule has only been "viewed." And the booking date and time is NOT applied to the project. But as I said, this page is "required" and cannot be skipped util the client chooses a date and time. This just started recently happening as Honeybook did some October updates. Since then, when clients pick their date and times, it does not get added to their projects or my calendar. I have to manually enter them. I hope this can get fixed ASAP as the holiday season is right around the corner which is my busy time of the year. I can't sit there and manually enter a bunch of dates and times for all of these projects. Please fix this! TY

Not very customizable

Im pretty disappointed. I thought this was going to be easier to use

Not iPad optimized

The screen is stuck in a vertical position on iPad. Obviously works great for phones but the lack of landscape format makes it terrible on IPad

Updated caused crash?

Since the update a couple days ago my Honeybook app crashes instantly and won’t open at all

Great for most small business tasks

I use HoneyBook for one of my clients and have been pleased with responsiveness of the customer service and the database of help topics. Getting set up with automations, pipeline, projects, etc takes a while to understand in order to get it set up correctly for true efficiency. I appreciate the client portal and auto-pay on recurring invoices for our clients along with the notifications for billing status.

An improvement I’d like to see is with the mobile app and viewing project notes. I suspect it’s a bug, but notes visible on laptop browser are not visible in app view. The redirect url to only mobile view on mobile browser makes it impossible to see project notes when not in front of a computer.

Overall good app

I’ve been using HoneyBook for over a year now. I love the features with scheduling, creating projects, invoices, contracts, and etcetera. I would say it’s definitely worth it for those features. I never had any bug crashes or issues.

My major problem is all of their fees. Not only do we pay monthly (not a problem) and there are transaction fees (again not a problem) but if you are tipped from the service you are provided, HoneyBook takes 90% of your tip (major problem). It’s a huge problem for this system to take away such a large portion of a tip for a service they are not physically doing. One of the uses for HoneyBook is with my cleaning business. For example, me and my employee completed a cleaning for $60 and a $6 tip was added. However only $58 was received. That’s so unethical. We’re already paying for the platform and we are paying processing fees to receive the money. I do not think it is right to take 90% of the tip. I compared that cleaning payment to the previous cleaning payment and there a $1.72 difference which is absurd considering the tip was $6. I get if they took maybe 10-20% of the tip but to take majority of it is absolutely ridiculous.

Unprofessional, shady, the worst platform to use

The app is faulty making it hard to make changes to clients and invoices. They lost payments from clients, then made it extremely difficult for me to get the funds transferred into my account, as it rightfully should’ve been immediately. Shameful company who operate as crooks.

Such an indispensable tool

I love Honeybook. My only complaint would be that it is in English only. My customers are mostly french canadians and I would appreciate a french version of the app.

Disappointed and Disrespected

I used honeybook for about two months and in that time a few things became clear: (1) they're built for smaller, more passive freelance businesses. (2) several experiences on the app and browser need to be updated. Maybe some leftover ui/ux from before the rebrand? (3) They completely fumbled the ball of “Support.”
I had $25-30K in invoices after a month that where processing for 6 days. Only after 6 days did i get hit with an email saying they where holding my money, requesting for several additional documents to verify my account and no context as to why. Its the end of the month, I've been using this service for 2 months. I need the money to pay contractors.. The nail in the coffin was support chat. I Can’t get on the phone with anyone and the only way to proceed is to upload the docs.

If you're running an business where getting paid on time is important, don't use Honeybook.

ALMOST 5 Stars! Love it!

This app has saved my life. I own a small business in the wedding industry so it’s very important I have a CRM and tools that are efficient and professional. HB app allows me to operate away from my desktop with replying to inquiries effortlessly and still have access to other clients timelines, etc. I use it everyday, and it holds all of my business information which was in excel and note pads prior (aka a hot mess). The only request I have: I’m a wedding florist so my work is all visual and I can’t quickly add an inspiration photo to the app without sending an email. I can’t tell you how often a client texts me a picture they love for their wedding that’s months away and I want to add that photo they sent to their client files in HB but I can’t unless I send an email. So I have send the photo to my desktop cloud and attach it to their portal only from PC, not the app which would be much more convenient. I hope this helps the app development team!
