They don’t deserve any stars

Money money money 💰

I like this platform, but i think they are a bit greedy when it comes to their fees. I pay annually… actually signed up when they had their AMAZING SALE because i didn’t think I’d use this a lot, but it’s actually really dope! I love how i can package the agreement along w the invoice and client can pay invoice and even on installments (that you can set) but the fees are a killer! every time a client makes a payment… BOOM, FEE! So if a client makes three payments, that’s three times HoneyBook took a feee!

For a small mobile DJ business whose just trying to stay organized, i wish HoneyBook would restructure that. Also, I’m having a hard time finding simple things like resending a file to a client or editing it. HoneyBook gives tons of tutorials—or maybe I’m slow, but i think that should be more visible whether using the app or on the computer because i still haven’t managed to find it 😟

Customer Service is Bad/ Payments don’t work

I started by doing a test invoice and payment of 2.00$. Worked fine, used on a project for invoice and payment. Got payment confirmation and customer even left a tip. Two days later I get an email from HoneyBook wanting the customer CVV/ Full Name/ and written proof that this customer owns the card- and HoneyBook gave a 48 hr limit to complete/ so basically They want me to drive 2 hours to have a customer write on paper his personal information- this is not a bank hold either JUST HoneyBook. Ok, I call HoneyBook to see if this can be worked out in a professional manner- nope, no one answers any of the phone lines. Email response is very very slow and doesn’t solve anything. Got a Not helpful Bot on their chat- after getting upset with the bot a guy gets on there and tells me is above him he will get help for me. No help, if nothing else I would like to cancel the transaction so I can talk to customer on phone and have him pay a different way/ nope can’t even get a human from this company. Horrible customer service/ untrustworthy handling of payment transfers. I definitely would recommend you steer clear from this app. The only good reviews I believe they get are fake ones.

Need to improve to keep paying members active

I would rank the company 3 out of 5 stars. Great idea and I have use their services for almost a year. We had a lot of communication problems, system crashing, and not everything work properly in their system. For example, contracts could not be sign by the clients, reports could not downloads, projects tabs did not work properly. The worst part is their customer service. They do not put priority on things when need to be fix, and when you are running a business and clients are waiting for you to fix the problem with their contract, or other technical issues it looks bad on your part as a business that it takes so long. They only have customer service over chat, and conversation that could have taken 10 minutes turned into 3 days because the company has no urgency for customer support. I would suggest going with a different company. I would consider them again after they put priority to their own customers, as a business owner, I do and that is why I am currently looking for other options to switch to a similar and better system and cancel my curretly monthly subscription.

Notification issues

I absolutely love honeybook, I’ve been using it for my photography business for about a year. I never really had any issues until recently. I’ve noticed that I’ll receive an email notification in my actual email inbox, but it’ll take a few minutes at least to make it into my honeybook notifications. It’s gotten to the point where now I’m not getting any notifications unless I actually open the app on my phone and check before they pop up. Please fix this!!

One of my top 10 allied apps, I would be in the top 3 besting this.

I have been a user for over a year and a half and without a doubt I can say that it is one of the best tools I have used and as a systems engineer I have tried many. I did not give it 5 stars because I considered that it still has a couple of opportunities. Complementing it with some business consulting is one of them and would make it unbeatable. It is not new to assume that if you teach your client to sell more it ensures that you will get a piece of their pie, if not ask facebook with their ads experts. A few days ago I connected to Honeybook support chat asking for some guidance with some setback with the tool and the visibility of the proposals after expired and the answer was in a few words is better to seek help elsewhere because Honeybook can not do anything, obviously that person who answered is not the company as a whole but if he represents it at that time with me and analyze, listen or guide with more patience surely would have yielded better results that ultimately translate into more sales for everyone. First opinion so extensive that I give but I think it is worth thinking that there is someone on the other side listening. Manuel from Devppy Digital Agency.

Love this app!

Love this app and HoneyBooks in general, I just wish they had an optimized version for the iPad though, hopefully that comes soon!

No iPad Functionality

With all the improvements in iOS in the last few iterations, pretty much all large scale apps have figured out ipad functionality - not so with HoneyBook. It’s like they don’t care, honestly.

To be clear - I love the program. The iPhone app is highly functional and not buggy. But sometimes I want to have greater visibility/control and the ipad version of this app just doesn’t cut it. It doesn’t even support split view which is pretty critical when working across apps. I get that I can just use it in safari but then it’s more of a pain to work on a website and also HoneyBook.

If they can improve the ipad function I would absolutely give it 5 stars. We’ll see, I suppose.

Recent updates

*UPDATE*

Honeybook has reached out about there being an issue. An update has fixed this and they advised to delete the app and reinstall! Now it works perfect again. Thank you!

Whatever most recent updates were release, broke the app notifications. Before when someone would inquire, the honeybook app would immediately notify me. Now I only receive an email. All notifications through my phone are set the same as previous and are all turned on to allow homeboy notifications. But the latest update stopped them. Please fix!

Dynamic and Useful

HoneyBook provided me with as much help running my business virtually as anything I’ve ever used. It’s interface is super intuitive and overall value-add is undeniable. I’d recommend spending some time finalizing all the automations and templates outside of the phone app so that you won’t have to edit too much on the fly. But if you utilize every aspect of this service, it’ll take your business to the next level in terms of professionalism, customer experience and efficiency.
