  • Great app with room for improvement

Ear training is perhaps the most important thing a musician should study and this app is an excellent tool. This will improve your ear, reading and dictation skills through a variety of exercises. The customizing feature is quite useful for working on particular things that need more attention. My one complaint is in interval singing, the range doesn't always fit into what you choose. I am a true Bass and shouldn't have to sing an A above middle C, because my range ends at the E above middle C. The iPad version does not give you a users range option you can only choose Bass, baritone, tenor etc....( unlike the full computer version ) outside of that, this is an amazing tool for Improving your musicianship.

  • The most useful software for learning music

This used to be an awesome software on computer, now it is on iPad, it is simply amazing and a must if you want to develop your ears, it really builds, from very basic to a jazz musician. You can sing into it and it will figure out the tone, incredibly useful feature. I just love it. Thank you developers! What a talented group of people!

  • Best Ear training app I've ever used

I'm a college music teacher and I downloaded this app to use with my 6 year old (an advanced learner) and my 11 year old. I LOVE the systematic approach to teaching the beginner class. My kids understand the concepts much better after every module. I'm going to recommend this app to my college students this fall. I haven't tried the other courses that require the in-app purchases, but if it's anything like the beginner course, I'm sure it's great too!

  • Fantastic for beginners and professionals alike

EarMaster has already been the go-to desktop program for ear training, and this app is a smooth, fun, and very satisfying port.

Are you a beginner? Fantastic! It will lead you by the hand, and so much better than traditional instrument or voice lessons that teach you mechanically how to read music but don't teach your brain and ear to both see music and hear it in your head. Because of the focus on ear and brain, you'll also discover that it enhances your ability to improvise and compose.

Professional? If you're like most of my colleagues, you can beat out a melody on your instrument (or sing back something you've heard beaten out on the piano), but you've essentially forgotten everything you learned in your ear-training classes in college and can't sight-sing your way out of a paper bag. Work through EarMaster and you'll know what that new piece sounds like before your fingers even touch your instrument. If you can hear how you want to play it, you can play it the way you want!

All in all, this is THE tool for taking your music making to the next level!

  • Fabulous!

This app is truly a standout among all the many ear training ones out there. Nothing else compares to this one. They've taken their already great desktop version and made improvements and put it all on the iPad. The beginner's course is new and really good. I like the way it progresses in steps so you don't have to figure out what to work on. Also the pitch detection is great, so you can hum or sing the notes and check your melodic dictation. Finally, if you don't want to pay the full $59 for the desktop version, this app lets you pay as you progress through various modules and exercises. Get this one; you won't be sorry.
