  • The one downfall

    The app works great for me except when I activate the motion capture option. The photos that are supposed to capture motion are always a grey screen like a tube tv with no signal. That’s a big bummer for me having the app. I have to switch to the live view to see if I can catch what set off the alert.

    You said it would eventually load in the app. I have waited hours at home on my WiFi and it never loads. Always a grey screen.

  • Camera is not working

    I wish you have a customer service phone number. I can not get my cameras to connect to the internet to view on my phone. It says Failed to connect to device. I can see it on my monitor; but it will not connect to my phone

    I can’t log into my system at all under my account name. Someone else logged in under there user name and messed up our system. Please help me to be able to log back in under my user name

    I need a phone number please!

    I’m having trouble looking at the cameras on my mobile phone unless I’m on WiFi. This is a problem because I get motion alerts and can’t see them when I am away from WiFi. I have the cellular data turned on on my phone. I am not the only one that can’t see my cameras unless I am on WiFi. Please help me in fixing this problem!

  • Love it, but

    I love my Defender HD camera and the app, however I for whatever reason receive 3 consecutive notifications for 1 motion alert. It can be quite annoying but I don’t want to turn off motion alerts. I’m not sure how to fix this or if I even can. Other than that I love it.
  • Motion alert very poor

    I have removed my poor review and replaced it with a new five star review. The new firm ware and iPhone update is great. I get timely snapshots and alerts anytime someone passes near a camera. Now this system is truly excellent!
  • Stopped working on cell networks

    Update: Lowered the 2 stars to 1. Still not working for over a month. No real answers from the company just the same canned response to everyone. How long does it take to fix this issue. Can’t see my cameras away from my home so what’s the point!!! Seriously you need to get it together.
    The app works on WiFi but not on the cell network away from home which is when you need it to work. It stopped working 3 weeks ago and still not fixed. Even when it did work the cameras load slowly which is frustrating when you need to see something fast.

  • APP doesn't work

    The camera system itself works within its confined system at home. However, the only place that the app can be used is at home in the same network. I have tried pretty much every place I have gone for the last 3 months. I have been unable to access the cameras anywhere else but at home. This makes the app useless since you can already view the cameras at home through your tv or monitor.

    I have read other reviews with same issue and the canned response from the "developer" saying they are always trying to improve. That is definitely not good enough given the fact that the main purpose most people buy these cameras is to view them outside the home.

    If I were you I would not buy one of these systems until they get this most basic feature figured out. If they can't get the app to do what it is supposed to. Imagine what other problems one will run into with this camera system.

  • Solid Value

    The product works perfectly. The biggest shortcoming for me is that the mounting bracket does move as well as I wished - the camera can only move up or down...really not flexible left to right. Had read a few reviews before buying and was a bit skeptical. I am about average or slightly above on installations like this ( this is used in a small retail store - so I do a lot of little install / repair as well as at home but still average) To make this work you have to have a monitor to set it up. (Yes it’s in instructions and I had to go buy one). A nice big monitor is good to have. It would really help to have a second person help as you can move camera for best positioning while other person tells you “that’s the best spot to mount it”
    Pluses are that it records close to a week and then records over again. If you need something from past week you need to save it if you set it as I did to start over recording when the 1000 hours (approx) are recorded. The app works beautifully. Just double tap on any camera and zoom in

  • Works really well from anywhere.

    I’ve had my Defender system for 6 months. It works really well from the mobile app, or via another computer through the defender site.

    It isn’t a plug and play however and will take a little extra effort to make sure you follow the instructions in order. There are a lot of security settings that can hinder access. Their tech support was really helpful in getting me to the right setting.

    I have access any time of day and it sends alerts when I have movement that I’ve programmed.

  • False advertising

    I was excited to purchase this product because most of the online reviews said it was user friendly and easy to set up. As the app description says, I was expecting to be able to access my cameras from “anywhere”...that is completely false. While it is true this product is reasonably easy to install and set up, you CONNOT view your cameras from anywhere...only from the home WiFi it is networked into. So, sitting on my couch, I’m golden...but once I leave my WiFi network, no dice. Companies should not be allowed to outright lie about a function that most people would buy the product for. I wish I had the time and money to devote to a lawsuit because this is unacceptable. If you actually care about access to your security system while you are not home, this is a horrible product. If you are like me, you can look out the window and achieve the same function as this product provides. DON’T PURCHASE THIS IF YOU WANT TO WATCH YOUR HOUSE FROM ANOTHER LOCATION OTHER THAN YOUR COUCH.

  • Decent when it’s working

    Where to start..

    Initial set-up wasn’t too bad, although it took a little while to figure out how to get everything connected and working on our phones. With that being said, it is difficult to get figure out the useful functions on the app. We mainly just use it to view the home in real time because it’s so difficult to go back and view older recordings (if we ever have something happen where we really need to check the footage I’m sure we will spend more one figuring this out).

    After a few months all of a sudden the device will not connect with any of our phones making the whole system quite useless.. we are currently trying to figure out why this is happening.

    The range on the wireless cameras also leaves much to be desired.
