  • Works good but needs some adjustments

    The picture quality is great and setup was easy. I don’t like the fact that you can’t adjust the cameras from side to side just up and down. The app needs some work as well. I can’t get it to play back and sometime it tells my device has been deleted and I can’t see the alerts. But for the price it’s not a bad system.

  • Does everything it says.

    Like being able to access live video from anywhere and have used play back several times without trouble.
  • Horrible app, hard and confusing interface

    I use this app only because I monitor the security of my grandparents house, and this is by far the worst camera app ever. I have Nest cameras at my house, and their app works flawlessly. So easy to use. This app needs to be completely revamped and made more user friendly. Seriously. The buttons aren’t labeled at all and most don’t even work. Make it more like the Nest app, PLEASE!

  • Defender

    This is the second set of Defender cameras I have bought and they work perfectly. Love that you can be away from home and still be able to check on your house. The only thing that gets a bit annoying is the number of beeps you can set as a notification when there is movement on the cameras but otherwise I would definitely but again!

  • Cheap Pays Twice

    I own a very nice pizzeria and figured why would I need to spend a fortune on a good camera system. Good product, people Etc...
    Boy was I wrong! Not only should every restaurant owner buy a camera system that is reputable they should by one that is supported locally.
    Defender is junk! Have had nothing but issues. Support is web based only. Troubles are many!
    Spend the money for the proper system. My Defender has been down more than it has been working.

  • Keep working on it!

    The app is under-featured at this time.
    However, it's a good product overall, and I am hoping the development team keeps improving it.

    Major missing features include:
    1. Not able to add video clip to photos! This is huge. Eg, The police want footage of a time/date. You cut and paste a clip together. Then How do you get it to them? You can’t (with the App).
    2. You can’t type in a date/time range to playback and view. You have to zoom and slide around. Neighborhood watch and law enforcement always are date/time focused in their requests for help.
    3. The app is not fully featured. You cannot do everything the desktop version does. Settings, export, etc.

    It’s nice hardware — hope they get the software up to speed!

  • Cameras are great

    The picture is perfect to display on my tv, very clear during day and night. Set was easy, it did take a little configuring on getting the right angles and adjustments. Setting up display and record to be a little more detailed in the instructions but seeing them online helped.
    The app works well both at home and away but there are latency issues that I’m not sure are the app or my internet connection causing it since it doesn’t say anything about modem or internet speeds that work best.
    The alarm setup needs work, I set it up to alarm my driveway but it seems to alarm all movement on that camera whether in the area marked or not.
    Overall cameras and system work great.

  • App doesn’t work for iPhone

    App hasn’t worked in over a month when we emailed defender (because there is no phone number) they told us they had submitted the issue to tech support and we are still waiting with a non working app. Totally defeats the purpose of having this security system as I cannot access anything from my phone. It worked good for about 4 months then Completely stopped...I haven’t had the system for even 6 months customer service is non existent as its back and forth emails and nothing gets resolved . I wish I would of bought the night owl system, my neighbors have it and have zero problems. Very disappointed with defender

Regrettably this is an issue affecting a small number of users after network protocol changes through mobile providers.   • Was great until it just stopped working

    I can no longer log in. I get an error message that my email address is in the wrong format. Can’t login. I retyped the email address multiple times. It was saved in there before and worked fine. This is not good because I purchased 8 cameras and now can’t access them unless I am home.

    Update. Works again. I could not use the app for 24 hours for no reason. I am waiting for support to get back to me. If this had not happened I would have kept it at 5 stars.

    I had the 4ch and could view it from my TV but this one will not let you do that. I love it for the price, I can view it from my cell phone away from home. I can’t view on my computer. But I don’t think that’s the equipment I believe that part is on me. I tried the video just can’t get it. I hooked my old cameras to it and it picked them right up.. NICE!!! All in all it was a plug-in-play right Out the box.
