Works well but.....
When we first got our defender it worked very well on iPhones and iPad, however for the last week I can not get the device to work on my iPad, I have deleted the app and reinstalled it but to no avail. I’m hoping this is a critical issue for you to make it a priority.

Dependable Defender
I have friends that have CCTV security systems installed and all I hear are complaints of how undependable they are!
I have never had a single glitch or incident that didn’t allow me to view my home through the Defender App. “Always on” with lots lots of options to fill all your desires and needs.

Not working
App all of a sudden does NOT give my phone banner notification like it did before. Only dings so I have no idea what my phone is dinging about.. whether it’s an email or someone breaking into my home... every time the app closes and I go back on it the notification tab is completely turned off by itself! All of my iPhone setting are right and the same as they were before the firmware update! UnacceptableShow lessAmos1420
Wonderful Product
I bought another eight camera system to replace one that was many years old. I didn’t want to rewire the attic so I purchased another Defender. There have been SO many improvements in cameras and apps since purchasing the original! The app works flawlessly away from home. (I’m guessing that the reviewers who cannot access away from home may need to change their data settings on their phones or tablets.) The system and app work beyond my expectations. Good system
Overall good.. but needs improvements.. like view desktop view from remote, download recorded videos from playback, no sound in live view when seeing from app even though microphone is connected..

Overall system ok
Push notifications for mobile is crap. Can’t get them to come through. Have to setup thru email. When I first got the system up and running I could get push notifications on my phone. Last time I spoke to someone she said they were working on a fix for that. That has been several weeks now and nothing. Talking to a REAL person or even being able to contact customer support is difficult. If this issue was fixed I would rate it a 5.Show lessGaylasue
Great Product
Setup was not difficult (not final install but testing hookups in home office) . I was seeing nice images on my phone within an hour. I did read the manual a couple of times online before purchasing too.
Price is right!!!
One item I’m missing, understandably so because it’s expensive from what I can see.
Background— I have a network of coaxial/RJ6 ran through the house that all TVs use for an antenna TV signal. We get about 25 free channels! We used to have a good quality black-and-white RadioShack camera hooked into the coaxial network box. A modulator allowed me to put the front door camera image on all TVs if you switched to channel 14. hey really nice luxury.
The defender has ankh HDMI output, unfortunately for me, which is digital (here comes the expensive part) And in order for me to change that digital 1080p picture to An analog signal of equal quality i’ll need a $480 converter. Not supplied by defender.
Note- there are many cheap HDMI to coax converters out there but they are just wire connections. Useless for me. I need something that uses electronics to take apart that digital signal and change it to an analog.
I need to start saving more money while I continue shopping for a cheaper converter models. I am excited about the prospect of seeing this nice picture on all TVs in the house.

Defender HD
It gets the job done and was easy to install. I’m able to view the cameras from outside the US without issues. However, I recently stopped receiving motion alert notifications to my iPhone. My iPhone rings and alerts me, but somehow I cannot get the badge notifications to show up. My settings are aligned correctly considering I get notifications from other apps with the same settings applied. Is this a common issue you guys are working on? ThanksShow lessJdMaS$fCk

We want everyone to have the same great experience with our Defender HD application. At this time, we are working toward a resolution regarding the notifications from the app. This is the result of the recent iOS 11 update which changed the way the notifications are handled. Keep an eye out for new updates on the DVR and the App!Cctv
So easy to set up compared to old model defender after sales service for help and support fantastic. Had version crisp and clear to view. Would recommenddislyn
Motion alerts in app do not work
I purchased this system about a year ago. I am very happy with the equipment and how the unit functions. A few months after purchasing though, the alerts within the app stopped working. According to Defender they are working on it as a “top priority”. Needless to say my the motion alerts still do not work. Very inconvenient to have to go through email to check alerts, if that even works.Show lessjblb123
