Latest Update no longer syncs
I can’t get in touch via support as it doesn’t load when clicked on. Since the last update the app no longer pairs with any of my helmets. It searches for ages but can’t find them even though they’re switched on. 🤷♂️
What happened to Apple Watch app?
It’s like the developer just scrubbed their website and didn’t let anyone know that it was being removed.

Hi SGuttbinder, We did a recent overhaul of the Lumos App which resulted in the temporary downtime of Apple Watch. Since we were already redoing the Lumos App, we wanted to improve how the Apple Watch turn signal gestures were being done to make it easier for users to correctly show turn signals. Helmet is great, app could use improvements
I have the Lumos Ultra. Rode 132 miles with it on in the last 2 days and I love it! The ability to signal on the roads is a boon. The app, though, could use some improvements.
Limiting the helmet to 3 flashing patterns is too little. What would make more sense is to have an collection of flashing patterns that starts at three so that new users don’t get overwhelmed, but that more can be added to. I found I wanted one flashing pattern that is just both front and back lights turned off so I can save maximum battery in the daytime on safe roads while still being able to signal when I’m turning. So that left me only one pattern for a battery-saving mode and one pattern to assign to a bright always-on mode. I’d really like a third high-vis mode and maybe even more. But I can’t add another pattern after 3.
My other problem was that I had some trouble selecting turn signal noises in the Helmet Settings section of the app. Eventually they synced but it took a while of rebooting my helmet and the app to get it all sorted out. And sometimes I’d make my selection and the app would revert it back next time I opened that section. I recommend using the iOS default option picker UI instead of the one you’ve built because that’s the design language people using iPhones already understand. And maybe it’ll be a bit more reliable. I think that’s important enough to sacrifice a bit of style-matching for.
One other feedback is about the flashing pattern customizer. When I tap and hold to create a short blink, it’s always on the beginning of the grid space. It would be useful to be able to set a short blink on either “half” of the grid space to make more patterns. For example, one pattern it’s not currently possible to create is:
…|__|~~|_~|~_|~~|__|…
(Using _ for half a space unlit and ~ for half a space lit, and | to mark space boundaries). So you can’t have three one-space-length flashed each with a half-space-length flash between them. That’s just an example of one thing that could be done if second-half-of-grid-space flashes could be added. Maybe these could be added by holding down again after adding a half-space flash? Or I’m sure your team can come up with some other elegant and backwards-compatible way to implement this :)
Overall functional app with some work to be done to make it amazing. Thanks!

Love the helmets, but needs to control more than one helmet.
Bought the Matrix last year, it is a fantastic helmet. Super visible with lots of functions. Still get compliments about the helmet everyday. Love it so much that I bought a startup and ultra helmet for my two kids. But they don’t own a phone or tablet, it is not convenient to unpaired one helmet so I can pair with another helmet to change settings. Please introduce profile functions, so I can save each helmet setting as profile so the app could connect to and change settings on different helmets easier.

Great Features NOT a headlight
I like this helmet. The app is good. The Apple Watch Remote is awesome!
I wish the headlight was an actual headlight instead of just a white opaque unfocused light. Great to be seen, but not great to help you see anything.

Very Frustrated With Customer Service! Concerning New Matrix with MIPS Matt Black Cycling Helmet Defects!!! After explaining in great details multiple issues. Another $280+ I’ll unnecessarily force self to purchase a second (2nd) Matrix with MIPS Matt Black!!! Only positive upside, another Magnetic Charger plus Wireless L|R Handlebar Remote! WHY ASK WHY!!!

Battery % pls
Give me a battery percentage on my watch and basic ability to push settings like brightness.
Inexplicably requires 3rd party ad tracking
I like the helmet and generally like the app. I’m not clear though why the current version of the Lumos app now requires 3rd party Ad Tracking to be enabled in order for ride journeys to work? What do 3rd party advertisers have to do with whether, when or where I ride a bike? Not cool.
