Page Not Found
Monument finally arrived, super stoked to try it out. Plugged it in and the automatic firmware update failed, the app points me to a manual update page that is “Not Found”. Went straight to the website to manually download and transfer the update, but it too points to a page that is “Not Found”. The only way to communicate with this device is through this app and all this app says now is that the automatic firmware update failed. Nothing else. Not impressed so far.

Almost. Pauses too much during use
It does Not have automatic backup. Lies. Very misleading.
The hardware works fine and it doesn’t what it says. It would be great 5 star if it didn’t pause and stope uploading everytime a message came in, or the screen turns off. That’s right it works great , but slow uploading, but works as long as the app is Open and stays open without any interruptions. There is about a 30 second re connect time everytime a message notification pops up or a call comes in or the screen turns off from timeout if being open. Which means I’m constantly having to tough my screen every minute to keep it alive. If this app worked in background or even when screen was off it would be great

Would be great if it worked
I don’t know how the app has gotten so many high star ratings. I have been trying for weeks to finish the initial setup. It’s taken literal hours upon hours to get my photos (~24k) 93% of the way backed up. This is because the app disconnects from the device approximately every thirty seconds and uploading pauses until it decides to reconnect. Now it won’t go past the 93% and won’t connect at all (the app to the device). I’ve been trying for days. My phone OS is up to date and so is the app. I’m really annoyed that I spent actual money on this boat anchor.

Loss of albums
This app has made me lose all my albums - they were all emptied and placed back into photos taken in time sequence. This has led me to lose all my important work albums and holiday albums which has taken me hours to compile.
I lost it al😭😭😭😭
So I used this app to back up my stuff right when I updated and all my photos are gone I’m just so sad I had baby photos of my niece and nephew friend photos family photos and I lost it all don’t download this app if you don’t wanna lose you’re stuff
App crashes again and again and again....

What a hassle!!!
The app won’t connect to the device there is no automatic update button for firmware and manual firmware update does not do any thing it is still on 2.5.6 and haven’t been able to use the device since Dec very frustrating.
Best Choice for a Private Cloud
This is a great alternative to WDMyCloud Home. This is a true solution to a private cloud. You control the size of the HDD’s etc. Best decision to change to this great product. Staff is amazing and quick to respond. Fantastic experience.
Quite an amazing device.
I have encountered glitches that over a time has been resolved with new updates. Connecting to Monument when not in range of my wifi was an issue that seems to have been solved. If you have many and various devices all taking photos, this device automatically gathers all photos and organisms them on your external hard drives all in one place, leaving you free to delete photos on your devices. It works silently and in the background. My opinion, this is a wonderful device.
