Not happy with new update!
So I've had to update the app twice within 2 weeks to play it. Since it updated last i have not been able to successfully play a single game. I was quite excited for the event that is currently on but my games won't load yet they have taken my tokens to play it. When a game eventually loads it just keeps showing a wifi icon. There is nothing wrong with my internet as I've been successfully playing other games all day yet since the update I cannot play games. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I want to like this game but…
Here is the deal. There are several different characters and each one has its unique set of skills. I’m order to use these skills you have two options. If you are a free to play player you get 10 energy that charges over time but not in battle. If you are a premium user you get unlimited use. So I would buy this game but you would also need to buy premium time to Maintain a competitive advantage. At first you can win easy without using skills but as you get up in rank you will need to use your skills at critical moments. If you are in a long battle which is very common at higher ranks you will not be able to maintain and use your energy wisely before running out and getting beat by someone who has premium time. This game is very much pay to win and you do not stand a chance in higher tiers at all unless you pay for premium time.

Missing expansion paid and not recieved
The mushroom trek has yet to be developed and this has been occurring for 5 years. Not happy as I did not receive what I paid for.

Once Great, Now Broken by Microtransactions
I used to love this game. Probably one of my favorites ever and definitely the best multiplayer strategy game on mobile I’ve played. That being said, it costs way too much to stay competitive due to the ability charges and rune system. Ability charges alone, if I don’t pay for it and face an opponent with unlimited charges, they will win more often. Same with if they have better equipment. I would literally pay $60 for this game to be able to play it forever, or even for a year - if the playing field was fair for everyone. It is a huge shame that a game with such great strategy and mechanics has become pay to win. Many have posted on Reddit and discord but the moderators/devs just get defensive. Sure you might make more money from casual players, but hardcore rts or strategy players aren’t going to play a game without a level playing field. So why not have both??? Why not have a version of ranked, like a pro league where you can pay a one time fee and play on a competitively fairly? I’ve proposed that before and was told that that is what mushroom wars arena is for. But Arena doesn’t have a long term leaderboard to climb, it’s not the same. I really hope the devs consider implementing something for competitive players who want a level playing field. I sure would pay to access that.

Pay to win
This game was fun, but has gone soo far into pay to win territory that it’s just sad. “Special event” means you get 5 free matches per day. You need to win 6 matches to get a level, and you need 150 levels to get the prize, so 900 wins required. You CANNOT get the prize without
1. Paying to join the event $40
2. Having premium (you simply can’t play enough without it) $11
3. Buying extra matches with diamonds (yeah you can get 3 extra matches per day with adds, and you can get 1/3 of a match by trying to win a ranked game. 25 games is approx $13, remember you need to WIN 900 of these.
4. Buying levels. 25 levels is approx $100
What is the grand prize ……. A SKIN
I understand developers need to pay expenses, but this is ridiculous. I’m sick of being destroyed by other players, simply because they spent $100 on upgrades.

Has great potential but…
So I have enjoyed playing this game but in the last year most of the times I try it won’t let me play an actual game. So beware if you spend money, you may not get the chance to actually utilise this. Think I may be at the end of my patience and will go to a platform that usually works.

Great game ruined by pay to play
This game could be great, it really could be. It has unique mechanics and amazing game play, truly this game could be great. But there’s one problem. It is pay to play. One of the best and most unique mechanics of this game is the abilities, but to use those abilities you need energy, and you use 7 per game. Wanna know how you get energy? By 1. Waiting an hour FOR ONE ENERGY, 2. By watching an add, 3. By buying 3 energy with gems, or 4. My absolute favorite, buying ✨premium✨. Which gives you unlimited energy, and there for a HUGE advantage against non premium users. I’ve lost many games because they could use abilities when I couldn’t because they had premium. Oh did I forget to say that the max amount of energy you could have is 7? Oh yeah you could definitely use way more than 7 energy per game, but you can’t unless you have premium. Truly this game could be one of the best games to play between classes, when your bored, or really anywhere. But it’s p2w and p2p.

Great game ruined.
Mushroom Wars was one of the most unique and original indie games I had ever played on the PS3. The gameplay in MW2 is still solid, but the pay to win mechanics ruin the experience. I’ve played a lot of mobile games with similar issues, but this game has the most predatory monetization schemes I’ve ever seen. It’s really sad to see such a great game ruined by greed. As much as I still love the gameplay, here’s no way I could recommend this game to anyone in its current state. They go so far as to offer a battle pass with the usual free and premium rewards, but they lock you out of ever being able to reach the later free rewards by putting them on a timer that makes it literally impossible (there’s even a pop-up message in-game that tells you this). And if you thought you could at least have fun playing the campaign while you wait on timers for multiplayer, that’s too bad because they lock that behind a paywall also. I almost never leave reviews for games, but this one has surprised me at every turn with more and more desperate attempts to squeeze money out of you. I’m not at all against paying for good games and I’ve been happily paying full price for them, as well as buying the premium pass for the games I play the most. Obviously, developers need to keep their companies operating, but it’s pathetic how hard they try to force people into spending more and more (especially for titles like this that require much less than full-sized games).
