  • Easy access workspace

    Geokey was recently (in the last year) brought on to replace a ill-functioning electronic key at my workspace. I find the connectivity to be better and the app functions much more user friendly. Plus, the staff is great to work with.
  • Useful and simple

    I have GeoKey at my office for the front door and the parking garage. It’s useful and simple.
    Customer service is very good.
  • Makes business easier

    I work in a co-warehouse space that uses Geokey. Because I’m able to open multiple doors and access different parts of the building with just my phone, it saves a lot of time and effort. I’m also able to add team members quickly and easily. It’s been a breeze!
  • The Best Keyless Entry!

    My experience with Geokey has been amazing! Super user friendly and easy to use. I have had zero issues with the app! The dashboard is great as a property manager, and has made the move in process for residents smooth. David Warneke with Geokey has been outstanding, and very attentive!
  • Infinitely worse than keys but occasionally works

    The apartment I live at moved all tenants to this system and now requires this app to enter all rooms in the building, including my unit. I would give this app a 1.5 out of 5.0, which I’ve generously rounded up to 2.

    In short, the app usually takes 10-30 seconds to connect to the electronic locks. But it occasionally connects right away, so I bumped it up a star.

    Here’s what I want as a resident who needs this every day:

    1. Add key to Apple wallet (or something that allows me to just tap my phone to the lock)

    2. A way to favorite the doors I frequently use and to hide the ones I don’t. My building has 20+ community doors, so having to scroll and sift through tens of extraneous ones

    3. Better integration with Shortcuts so I can create my own ways to streamline the unlocking process

    To be clear, this is bad enough that I want to break lease and move.

  • Do NOT Recommend

    This system has a good idea behind but execution is poor. I love the apartment I live in but the biggest downfall is geokey. I haven't talked to one resident who likes this. I have been locked out of the building 3 times where the app goes down and this brings a safety issue as it was 1:30 in the morning taking my puppy out and the tempeture was 15 degrees. There was no backup plan to get in and I had to throw a large stick at our window to get my fiancé to wake up and let me in. There should be a backup plan or code we can use to get in a door. Our apartment said the backup plan is to take a brick and put it in the door but this defeats the purpose of the app. Also the amount of people I have to let in that i don't know is ridiculous but the app is always breaking or having issues and people i don't know have had to let me in at times so overall it's a safety issue and again the execution of this app is poor. I tell everyone i know about how ridiculous this app has been and to people I know looking to build apartments I tell them to NOT use geokey. I have lived in other apartments and never had issues like this before. it's terrible

  • Drains your battery

    Been using this for a month now. Forced by my apartment complex. Fails to connect a few times before working. Just noticed that it’s been draining my battery. I only use it once a day, yet it’s draining 70% of my battery on the background. This is unacceptable, especially since if my phone battery dies, I’m locked out. Why is this app running and draining battery in the background all the time?!?

  • An app that should not exist

    Would give negative stars if I could. This app is an atrocity to the idea of technological convenience. It does not create convenience at all. It makes your phone a mandatory use for entering your own apartment complex when there is this perfect centuries old system called the key and lock. If your phone dies you can’t get it and the app is terrible and constantly has connection issues. I was just logged out saying my email and password was incorrect. I used the same email to get a reset code. When I got the reset code I tried to use the same password but it said I can’t use the same password. So the app reset knows my email and password is correct but the login screen doesn’t?????? I did a full password reset just because this app is terrible. I want this company to go bankrupt so bad. I want everyone who works here to quit and work for a company that does not exist to inconvenience everyone of its supposed customers.
  • Poor UI

    Add the option to favorite certain doors. Our apartment has 10+ on geokey and it’s annoying to scroll and find the right one.

    Allow favorites and nicknames of locks so it is easier to find the right door.

    Would also be nice to have a widget on Lock Screen or Watch app to make unlocking easier. Don’t want to have to open app and then scroll through list. At this point a normal physical key fob is much easier than this app.

    Hi Sahil, thank you for your feedback about the Geokey app! While we currently don’t support nicknames in the app, you can switch the order of access points by dragging them up or down in your list. Hopefully you this helps improve your experience.
