  • Wonky controls!

Ok so first, I love the Don’t Starve series, I have both Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together on PS4 and I have to say, that experience is miles ahead of this port for the following reasons:

    1. When using the virtual joystick to control your character, if you try to use both the joystick and your action buttons, the joystick will freeze in the current direction you have it as long as the action button is held. Can this be fixed? It’s a huge annoyance when trying to harvest materials and the character walks right by them and gets killed.

    2. When utilizing a chest, it is absolutely impossible to see what is inside it. I’ve noticed that when you select your current inventory, it zooms in so you can see the contents, why can’t chests and Packim Baggins do the same thing? That’s a huge annoyance as well for someone like me who loves coordination.

    3. Instead of having to use two fingers on the top or bottom to switch viewing angles, why not have arrows on the upper corners of the screen like the bumper inputs on a PS4 controller? Having to use two fingers is wonky as hell since half the time you’re zooming in and losing all focus anyhow.

These are all easily repairable if you guys read these reviews, please do so!

  • This is my favorite game 😁😁😁😁😁

This is my favored game on my I Pad and I love playing it! But I do have a few suggestions. I think you should add no sweat to it and also add a default plus. I think you could also make it easier to find volcanos. You could also make the world not take so long to load. Thank you and I hope you take this into consideration.

  • Great game, difficult to control. No Wigfrid.

In short, if you like the original Don’t Starve game, you’ll like this one too.
The only thing that keeps this game from getting 5 stars is that the controls are a bit finicky... it’s fine when you’re just walking around the world, gathering and building things, but it’s a nightmare when you’re fighting an enemy, especially when there’s a lot of trees in the way. Your character will just stand still, making some comment about the tree you just clicked on, while some monster chomps away at him! It’s especially bad since a lot of the fighting requires you to hit the enemy a couple times before running a small distance away to dodge their attack. You need to make sure you’re in a wide open space to fight anything effectively.
Also, you can’t play as Wigfrid (my favorite character), so you can’t just tank the enemy attacks.

  • Interesting, fun

The Don’t Starve games are unique - playing with different characters or different difficulties completely changes what your personal ‘purpose’ of the game might be. Some characters are better than others for different reasons. Lately, I like to make it so I am less likely to die, then see how far underground I can go.

  • Please read

Seriously, this game is very good and is always constantly fun. I do recommend this game a lot but there is one BIG problem. What they did with Normal Don’t Starve encouraged more players to play it was sandbox mode. I think u guys should consider adding it to Shipwrecked too, I mean, when u play for days, hours, and then make one decision and bam...... good game were done, restart now!! And not everyone is ‘Pro’ at the game so please add the sandbox mode u guys did in regular don’t starve........ thanks for your consideration

  • Poor Execution

First I want to say that I LOVE don't starve. It is really fun to play, on a pc with a decent screen. Even playing on my laptop is fine.

I was excited to buy this for my phone (6+) as my kids LOVE watching me play, and they could also play it themselves.

Except this is completely unplayable. The entire screen is just scaled down. Nothing looks to be optimized for smaller screens. Sure, it is probably "OK" on an iPad, but I think anything smaller it is just garbage. Developers really should have thought through multiple smaller screen sizes. Even if the mobile version was scaled back a bit I would have been happy if I could read all the text and see all the tiny boxes. Disappointed!

  • Issues

I think the game is pretty well designed but while playing it I found that the hud size is wonky. The top parts of the chest and other things like that are lost to the top part of the screen. And when you turn the hud size down it affects the controls when playing with the Virtual stuck on. I found that I had to keep the last slot of my inventory empty of items like tree seeds.

  • Love this game! But...BUG REPORT

I love this game! I saw a Youtuber (credit to Gopher&Chay) play this and I just had to have it and seeing it on iOS just made me jump for joy. It is the game I wanted but of course with any newly added game to iOS there are bugs and here is what I have observed.

    1. When I hold down the harvest key to collect berry bushes, grass tuffs, saplings, etc with a shovel, to replant them, sometime is doesn’t harvest the berries or items before digging them up and this causes the bushes to glitch and become unusable.

    2. When using the joystick sometimes it get stuck and the character goes running off in a direction for no reason.

    3. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD fix the issue where I can’t use the joystick and hold down the harvest key at the same time.

    4. Also he decides to spin a bunch when planting trees at night it’s not really an issue I just didn’t think that was suppose to happen.

  • Love it/ hate it

So, it's a little buggy but super fun. Crossing the fog is a huge problem, it keeps going back even without touching the screen. Adding a save option would make it more fun in order to bookmark before you die. I haven't found the end point but have made it to day 30 something.
  • Fun but always room for improvement

Really fun game! Wish you had an actual "sandbox" mode so that you can't die(a casual mode). clothing that you can wear with the packs, it's so annoying that I have to choose between wearing a jacket or my backpack. Also more types of houses for your player to build to live in that doesn't just have a handful of uses before it's destroyed, like different cabins made from all types of material, maybe a stone house that volcanoes or fire can't destroy, or one that you can constantly upgrade to make stronger or last longer. Maybe a story line with the game so we know what the goal is besides the goal to survive, maybe village people/animals that we can do quests for in order to get gears, gem stones, or other rarities. I love the game now but like I said, there's always room for improvements!
