  • Still love this game after almost an entire year!

I love collecting every new assassin that come out. Missions are fun when you can use each character’s unique skills but there is just one problem. I’ve ranked up a lot of heroes but I’m almost always using the same ones. The event bonuses for certain heroes make events more fun but a lot of heroes I have don’t get the love they deserve, especially some who have awesome skills that I never get to use because I just never realized they had it. It would be cool if we could filter search for heroes by specific skills like the one in the search criteria in the mobile game Yu-gi-oh Duel links. I also have a bunch of empty rooms waiting to be filled with something, maybe a training room where we can teach new skills to heroes somehow. They could be new skills or maybe skills that are specific to certain heroes. Or a room for a workshop where we can buy or craft equipment or temporary skills that we can use in missions. The game could also use some more support, heal, and disarm specialists that are legendary or epic.

  • Enjoyable, different and a bit grindy

I’ve been playing since just after launch and have more or less hit the ceiling - multiple of the T5 gears, running grandmaster during the events, just slowly getting everyone to max. For all intents, I’ve “completed” the game and just being a completionist.

That said, rarely has a mobile game made me want to do so.

The best thing about the game is it truly is a FTP game that can be completed without spending a dollar. Sure, dropping helix (the premium currency) might allow you to do better during the events, but it’s not needed. Give it time and you’ll have all the characters at max and finish all the missions.

And if you do pay... it’s not much of a bonus since your gains you’d get next time. Paying here is really for the impatient.

Now the downsides - there are bugs (and some have been around for a long time). There are places they’ve overlooked (some characters don’t have T5 gear for armor, but do for weapons and accessories... ???) and updates are few and far between.

But that last one I also see as a boon - it lets you be patient and collect your heroes without feeling rushed to start on the next set that drop.

I have this game it’s fifth star just because after all this time, I want to keep playing. That overcomes the bugs and everything else. But just keep those things in mind!

  • Requires a perfect internet connection

The game is decently fun when it works, though it’s mostly just a wait-and-collect game with a turn-based mini game. If you only have access to IPv6, like the WiFi I temporarily have, it will not work at all. My mobile connection that supports IPv4 is also spotty right now, but I’m still able to win low ranked rounds in brawl stars and write this review, so that shouldn’t impact my ability to play a game like Rebellion that never has two players connected directly. Unfortunately, the game has difficulty if the connection has even a momentary issue and barely tries to reconnect, even when you tap the retry button the game offers. I have previously submitted tickets for this when on better connections and a hiccup ate my limited event tokens before I could even start the level. Unfortunately, their support takes a few days to get back to you, by which time the event will be over and then they need screenshots because they either don’t associate the in-app ticket with your device or don’t have the logging and tools to notice when they dropped your functional connection. Very frustrating when you just want to play and then do something else. Don’t make this game a part of your routine.

    Developer Response

Hi UnityPlayer! Thank you for your feedback. A lot is still in the works and all the feedback received helps us improve and grow. Thanks again!
  • Loving this so far, but please address the crashing problem

I just recently got this app for my iPhone 6, and I must say that I enjoy it very much. A long time Assassin’s Creed fan from day one, I find this right up my alley. There isn’t enough praise I can give about this, even with the short amount of time I’ve been playing; however the game is always crashing on me and closing. I’ve read a few of the reviews and seen that others have experienced the same thing. It’ll crash randomly at any time, which makes me fearful of extended play, especially when in the middle of a mission, where then I have lost the “intel” as well (besides just plain taking me out of the immersion entirely). Is there any way that this issue can be resolved? A five star game, if not for the crashing problem, however in all honesty I cannot see myself playing this for long should this problem persist.

  • Soooo amazing!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍

When I first got this game, I saw a review that told me when you finished the game there was nothing else to do. That led me to thinking that the game was very short, and there wasn’t much exciting material. I downloaded it anyway just to see what it was like. The review I read was wrong: there are so many levels and a beautiful, long story line. In this game, you build an HQ and add rooms to help your assassins get stronger, heal faster, and equip cool weapons and armor. You go on story missions, each unlocking more detail than the next. You also send assassins on missions not associated with the story, which help you gain materials to craft weapons and find DNA. The more DNA you find, the more assassins join your team. One of my favorite parts of the game is that you can choose a cool name for your group. I do have one suggestion, though: Is there any way you can make it so you don’t have to be online to start a mission? I don’t like this because when I’m offline, I can do almost everything in the game other than going on missions. I would be really glad if you could fix that. Thanks!

  • Great mechanics and character diversity!

After playing Rebellion for a while, I can say that it’s been awesome getting to experiment with new heroes in missions and finally unlocking gear items I’ve been grinding. Overall great strategy involved, and plenty of clutch moments (e.g. Aguilar dodging 3x in a row and then criticaling).

There are a couple of things I’d like to see in the game, along with Region 5. First off: Adebowale. He had a unique, albeit short-lived backstory, as well as a satisfyingly aggressive fighting style. It’d be cool to have an unusual heavy-armor type hero who could free-run, but likewise deal less damage to make up for it.

Also, I don’t know if there’s much more planned for online mode, but an Abyss with randomly generated rooms or larger, five-hero missions would be cool additions to keep veteran players in the game. Either way, this is a solid choice for an AC title!

  • Great but can still improve

So far I am loving the game, I like the fact it really isn’t multiplayer focused. The game does crash on me from time to time but I expect that to be fixed within an update soon. My major concern is dealing with rush missions, it makes no sense how a little health was taken and yet I have to wait for my characters to have full health just to redo them again. One last thing that really bugs me is that it feels like you need a lock-pick on every stage just to get good rewards. Either keys should be added or make it where even if you bust a chest open there’s a chance to get the best reward. This next mention is just an idea really but maybe (if there isn’t a mode like this already) there could be a mode you try to infiltrate other players castles. This would be more for the people who have completed it and it gives those players a chance to test out their defenses or team. Other than that I just ask for more characters from previous games Templar or Assassins.

  • What a game!

This game is outstanding! Not only is this game simple to learn, fun, and addictive; this game is MY type of game. This game’s got everything nailed! No lag. (Although that could just be the device I play on) Great animations. Fantastic Combat animations as well. The game is marvelous. I’m now going to make a few suggestions. First, you devs think you can buff up the Legendaries a bit? My legendary, “The Italian Mentor” has a good Assassination Skills, but his Free Climbing ability’s percentage rate, in my opinion, a bit too low for a legendary’s standards. Second, can you guys please make the story bigger? I love the game, but there’s just a too little amount of levels to let me enjoy the game. BECAUSE I LOVE THIS GAME. Third, you guys think you can add in more rooms, and new animations? The more the merrier! Am I right? Bottom line is: this game deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating.

  • Ignore the percentages

I really like this game - easy game mechanics, easy to build up a nice roster of heroes, and that roster spans a lot of the Assassins Creed games, in addition to having great characters unique to this game. The graphics are very good, and the chibi-like appearance keeps it fun.

I *think* the story is good, but one of the problems with the game is that instead of having steadily increasing challenges, the stages - both in the story and in the side missions - feature gradually increasing challenges, followed by leaps in difficulty level. This is especially evident in the rotating Challenges, where a few days won’t give you time to level up your characters, so you find your level and stick to it. But it’s hard to get in the story continuity when you play 5-6 stages, then have to replay them until you’re up for the next level.

Finally, when you’re looking at the challenges while playing a stage, don’t get too hung up on the % chance of success it gives. I won’t say the game is unfair, but you need to remember that if you have an 80% chance of success, you have a 20% chance of failure - and failing one doesn’t mean you’ll succeed 15 seconds later when you have an 80% chance on the very next challenge. So while the game may be fair when that happens, it’s not much fun.

But it’s only a game, and I enjoy it more than most. Highly recommended.

  • So. Freaking. Slooooooooow

Like other reviewers have posted, the game starts off simple enough. However, almost immediately it becomes exponentially more difficult to progress without leveling up your characters and gear etc. Which is okay, but it’s just like hitting a brick wall in the middle of your game playing. Personally I don’t mind a challenge but I’ve been grinding for three days straight to get past the second chapter and it’s just too boring. I like leveling up my players but cmon! Want to give them exp? Gotta train them using codex. Out of codex? Just do a few old mission runs. Oh wait, you need “orders” to do missions. And those take forever to fill up. For example, once you hit chapter 2 missions, it takes 11 order points to run a mission. It takes 8 hours to get you 70 orders, which means after waiting all day, you’ll be able to do a quick 6-7 old mission runs. Sorry but no thanks. And the deal/offers are a joke. Monthly subscription gets you a 20% more loot.. but 20% of too little is still too little. Pass.
