Doesn’t show correct date format...
***Update: New update does not change the time stamp format. Still shows the date in USA date format. Month / Date / Year.

It’s has beautiful hardware, with a nice high quality app, to control and view all recorded footage. However this app experience fails are they’re is no way to view your footage via the internet or via a cloud storage options.
Also the footage time stamp doesn’t show the correct date format, as it shows the month first then the date, and year. So it’s hard to use any recordings as proof as you need to explain to your insurance or police that the format date is back to front. Also the time stamp is very small and not re-sizeable to be more sharper. No options to change this, however a future app update may resolve this.
When viewing video footage ‘rear’ camera, no time stamp is evident.
I’m now opting to swap my Audi front and rear dash cams with Blackvue alternatives. Better functionality as well correct time stamp features. Also has iCloud storage as well as timestamp shown on video footage as it shows both on playback. Shame Audi’s dash cams look amazing but i’m now past the branding issue over functionality and features.
Overall its a nice app lacking key features.

Cannot view videos through app
After working moderately well for a week I can no longer choose to watch videos through the app. The camera says recording stopped and then after about 30 seconds the app crashes.
This is a very expensive piece of hardware to rely on such a poor app.
I can’t wait to see what happens when IOS 13 is released this week...Please update!

A techie company like Audi made a lame app
This app does the absolute minimum required to function with the UTR recorder. The one minute (driving) and 20 second (parking) events are saved in the near useless .avi format (almost unusable on a Mac), but worse there are a hundreds of them with NO thumbnail, just the numerical file name. Terrible to sort through. Viewing a video clip on the phone the fast forward reverse does not work. If you want to download from the microSD card to your phone it’s VERY slow, and then you dont have the option of sharing the downloaded file. Its trapped in the UTR app, not even savable to the photo/video library! You physically have to remove the card from the UTR, find the file on your computer (hope you have a lot of time) and save it while converting it to .mov or .mp4 for viewing. AND that process causes the destruction of all the files on the SD card when its put back into the UTR. Honestly, I hope this version 1.0 and gets improved big time soon. This UTR recorder is so freakin’ expensive that the app should save it, not make the experience even worse.

Another fail....Audi, I payed 1k for this unit and it just doesn’t switch from km to miles???? We live in US, wake up!!!!!
Glitchy and unreliable
The cameras WiFi works 5% of the time on the app. Very glitchy and unreliable.
VERY disappointing
I’m really disappointed with Audi. The cameras are great but this app is probably the worse I’ve ever had! I agree with all the comments regarding connection etc. Lack of functionality and ability to save clips and export from iPhone is really annoying. But the most infuriating thing is that the file names (a combination of date and time), are all wrong! I often get dates and times in the future!!! Finding a clip following an incident would take forever!
PLEASE PLEASE Audi, put a strong team and task force on this embarrassing situation and sort it out!
As mine was fitted into my new A7, I think I’ll have to rely on the warranty and ask them to remove the cams and refund me the £649!!

This is great!!
Now I have proof that I don't cause accidents and that drivers around me are crazy! Also, I love the perimeter detection when the car is off!
Pretty poor
No ability to export video.
When you plug the SD card into a PC you lose the rear camera view.
Come on Audi, get your act together. A very expensive install for a system that does not really work all that well.

Awful just awful
As with other reviews on this site I have to agree on the poor quality of this item. Fitted by the dealer prior to delivery of my new Q7. My unit will not record a full journey only 1 minute segments at a time. Useless if you need to prove something in the event of an accident! You cannot access the footage unless you are in the car and connected by the units own Wi-fi signal. So, in the event of an accident and the car cannot be started, no video footage.
I did have high hopes for this unit. Supplied by Audi and fitted by them with no wires showing sounded so good, but, how I wish I hadn’t bothered.

The UTR was installed on my new Q3 by the Audi dealership prior to delivery. The sales person gave a brilliant review of the device extolling its many virtues.
Unfortunately connection to my iPhone 8 has proved impossible and despite the valiant attempts by the dealer has proved impossible.
On contacting Audi customer services I am told there are known issues with the system. If there are issues why continue to promote a defective system.
The car is to go into the workshop for a day or so Audi can hopefully remedy the situation. Fingers crossed.
