Another update, another failure
Connect to the camera, click to see the videos on the camera, app promptly fails and becomes unresponsive. For an app to see your camera videos, it doesn’t get more basic than being able to see your camera videos and it doesn’t work! The one thing it MUST do, it can’t. after that it’s a waste of time. Had this camera 3 years now, this app hasn’t improved in all that time, despite lots of updates. In fact, it used to show the videos so it’s actually got worse. Spent a fortune on the camera too! So disappointing.

Firmware update bricked it
The latest firmware update, utr v1.25, micom v1.12, has essentially made the unit useless. None of the settings hold after changing them. When the vehicle is moving there's a giant 5km/h logo overlaid on top of the video.
What's the point of having a traffic recorder that displays a logo on top of the video?! And the logo is wrong. You can be going 50km/h but it will always just show 5km/h.
Worst part is, there's no contact information to tell someone of the problem. I don't speak German so I can't contact the app develope.
Do not update your UTR firmware!

Not that great
I got this installed option which is around £600. There is no viewing screen - Audi gave it without showing me it working. Does not connect to the mobile . I did manage to connect it once but Apple car play doesn’t work at same time as it uses a different wi fi . I deleted the Audi UTR mobile app and re installed it and tried to re connect it but it doesn’t detect the Audi UTR wi-fi , I wanted to change the wi fi so it would connect with the Apple car play but it didn’t work. I can’t really review this in detail as unable to make it work properly and Audi taking forever to return my calls for them to show me it working and to somehow reset the system . Not worth the price for something not working properly . I have a I phone 8 plus

Doesnt work
No way to connect the wifi? Whats going on? Unusable
Could be better!
I have stopped trying to access the Audi UTR with my iPhone now as I have Wireless CarPlay which uses the Bluetooth and WiFi connections in the car to connect. If I try and switch to the UTR WiFi it just keeps switching back to the car connection and drives me insane!
One definite improvement I can think of would be the ability to export videos that you have transferred from the device to the app. At the moment I have a video that I would like to upload or send to someone and I can’t get it out of the app!
Also, with privacy glass in the back window the recording is quite dark. A setting to take that into consideration for that feed would be good. Maybe something that boosts the brightness or contrast or something??
Considering the quality of the build and the Audi brand I thought this would be a bit better!

It’s not as bad as the reviews
When I read the earlier reviews of the UTR software I was filled with dread.
The dealer did nothing to help with setting it up, so I followed the instructions in the app - which means reading the terms of use and not just clicking next all the time.
I instantly had a firmware download to perform, which increased my apprehension. But it look no longer than predicted.
I have had no problems in accessing the recorded data, and as such it seem to work just fine. I am not bothered if the output in in KPH or MPH if the court needed the recording it would be of no significance.
I have adjusted some of the recording settings so that the camera doesn’t “beep” when closing the door or going over speed bumps.
I like how the camera is tucked away behind the mirror, and there are no trailing cables.

App needs a re-design
It serves the function, but the UI/UX design and features of the app are not even close to Tesla standards.
As anybody tested this software.
I find this software not fit for purpose i have had front and rear dash cams for six months now I had them fitted by audi to my a6 because I thought got a new car cost a lot of money it’s got to be a good investment how wrong can you be I should have just got some nextbase dash cams .You can only use it if you have your phone plugged into your car with the engine on what is the point of the app. I thought I would be able to check my car anywhere?????

Great if it actually worked as designed
Audi dealership installed. The camera records as it's supposed to but the app is a total disaster. Worked sort of for few days now 100% app functionality failure. Re-installed no improvement. No WiFi connection even sitting in the car. Firmware won't update, app unresponsive.
No live view
I can’t watch live since this updates. Is this because of the new firmware or this app? Please fix it.
