  • Australia time zone issues

lovely idea but the “random times” seem to have always been in the middle of the night ( at least for me here in Australia) makes for a lot of the same memories.. please solve this. Thank you
  • Simple and mindful

Cool concept that captures the mundane and sometimes the awesome.
  • I’m not anti social media but this app still appeals to me

I like getting a quiet glimpse into a stranger’s live somewhere else in the world and I’m looking forward to seeing my photo array in a few years.
  • Mindful. How all apps should be

In a world where rushing, comparison and scrolling are replacing depth, appreciation and stability, this app is exactly what we need to bring us together. To help us realize life is messy and imperfect and about a whole lot more than what we see on Instagram and tik tok.
  • A sublime antidote to the anxiety and acrimony of social media

Minutiae is one of my favorite digital experiences of all time and worth every penny. Having been through one minutiae cycle (now on my second) it’s remarkable to look back at the moments in my life I never would have captured—but now have. And the glimpses it gives into other people’s lives is simply wonderful; they makes me feel connected to the common humanity of the daily lived experience of other people around the world unlike any other app or website.

  • A unique part of each day

I absolutely love this project! It has changed my relationship with social media and helped start conversions with others about the role it plays in life.

I very much enjoy the immediacy and playfulness of the quick capture after the app is opened when prompted each day. It is fun and exciting when it surprises me! I love looking back at all my moments and I am humbled by the emotions I feel for the stranger on the other side.

    Really beautiful project.
And Martin, the developer is so cool. He has helped me personally solving an issue with my subscription which wouldn’t activate. He was so friendly and we were able to solve it together in the end.

    Thank you Martin!
I am an artist myself, my work is all about time and your project has really inspired me.

    Thank you!

  • Quirky thy name is Minutae

If ever there was an app that celebrates randomness, this is it. Those with FOMO may wish to step aside: you will never get that picture every time! But when you do the joy of investigating your (temporarily) app-pal’s world makes up for your (and their) gaps.

And remember. You are part of an art project.

  • A wonderful random moment in time

It’s great to be challenged to capture what’s happening a just the moment in time that I get the alert. I also enjoy seeing glimpses into the lives of other people all around the world.
  • Taking back control

Love the fact that you don’t have control of the photograph. The picture you get is as it is or as it is not if you were either asleep or couldn’t react in time. The blurred reality of being half asleep and getting a picture of a blurred wardrobe door are testament to early morning fumbling. Certain times of the day it’s a brutal reminder of too much TV watching going on. Fascinating project. Do not be put off by the black holes of missed alerts.

  • Take a second out of your day to make a journal for yourself

This is a wonderful idea. I’ve done a full cycle and will shortly be starting another. Looking back at the moments in time I’ve captured in Minutiae gives me far more satisfaction than any number of posed selfies.
