Advice
I’ve always loved the scooter idea and being in a city and being able to scoot around town and see new places and have fun. Lately the experiences have been worse and worse. Tonight for example I hopped on a scooter outside of my hotel and wanted to go to a convenience store about a mile away that I’d passed on the way here. I got down about two city blocks and the scooter kicks off, go onto the app and I’m in a red zone. I figure this store isn’t that far and just kick push through. Losing all sense of direction because I’m now going at a snails pace and hoping to find a store that is closer. I get tired and hop back onto the map seeing I’m in the middle of an unridable area and I’m not even allowed to park it until I get back to a zone where I can drive. Ruined my whole night and adventure I just went back to the hotel. I then got charged $10 for a ride that mostly consisted of me pushing myself on the scooter. Make all the excuses you want about the city not letting you ride in certain areas or irresponsible consumers but you’ve lost your target market if this is how it’s going to be and I would sell your business to the highest bidder before you lose it all. Honestly, this app is annoying to use and it makes it impossible to start, go on, or end your ride. First, to start the ride, it takes over 5 minutes and is still confusing to use at first. Then your actual ride is loud and not reasonable. I was on a bike and a friend of mine on a scooter. Her scooter was going maybe 5 mph, I can walk faster than that. My bike would wail and scream every five minutes. Besides, this e bike still was really slow. A fast walk would’ve been quicker. But the worst part of all was the end. My friend and I parked our bikes and tried to end the ride but lime wouldn’t let us because “we needed to park in a preferred parking area.” We were in a serious rush. Please note that there were several other bikes/scooters but they were in regular rotation. It’s a perfectly fine area. Then, we tried another area, same conditions, and the same thing happened. When it finally let it park our bikes, it was 10 minutes later and we had been charged $10 more than our trip would’ve been. I will not ever use this service again. Me and my friend saw that an Uber and a bike would be the same time, so we made the eco conscious choice. But it took so much longer- double the time, and was more expensive too- double the price. I would not recommend this to anyone.Show less“Avoid sidewalks”
Recently a change was made so that the scooters will bark at you through a voice box that screams “AVOID SIDEWALKS” if you ride on a sidewalk. That sounds well and good except that you know, PEOPLE PARK THESE THINGS ON BIKE RACKS ON THE SIDEWALK YOU ABSOLUTE MORONS. So the NANOSECOND you start the ride, before you’ve even had a chance to retract the kickstand and get on your way, the scooter is already berating you in front of everyone like you did something wrong! It’s such an absolutely MISERABLE and HUMILIATING experience. Furthermore, because you rely on buggy trash geofencing for this “feature”, it often goes off IN The MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. And god forbid you’re lucky enough to have a bike lane to ride in, because it will scream at you THE ENTIRE RIDE. no cap lime you straight up need to fire whatever talentless mouth-breathing hack suggested this as the solution to sidewalk riding. Instead of shaming riders who simply wish to not be MAULED by a distracted SUV driver, you could lobby your local government to build more protected bike infrastructure instead of capitulating to their pathetic car-centric demands. You are such a miserable mediocre company and I can’t wait for you to go under.
Update: your parking fine system is disgusting. I literally followed all rules, parked inside a viable zone, against a rack and still got a ticket. Beyond pathetic. The contempt you have for your riders is astoundingShow less
