Parking zones make it pointless
I’ve been using the Lime bikes for a few years and I could deal, with the slow app and the fact that sometimes there aren’t any available nearby and involved a bit of walking which is great.
However sometimes i use it to get to places faster and the convenience of being able to park anywhere, as long as it’s by a parking bay or not blocking anywhere. When the camera vans out i thought it was great. However with this brew “law” where you have to park in certain spots, to where i have to cycle for note than 5 mins, in the electric bike, to then come back to my destination, makes me waste money and more importantly time.
Think it may be the time to start looking for alternatives such as forest bikes which don’t have this parking rule.

Scam
I used their scooter twice, and this glitch happened both times. I used the scooter for about 8 minutes, but their application stubbornly refused to end the ride for an additional 15 minutes. While other riders with me were able to end the ride in the same parking spot, my application kept refusing to cooperate. It’s clear that they’re aware of this issue and, more likely, deliberately exploit it to generate extra revenue. I strongly suspect this was intentionally designed to be a scam. I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max with the latest iOS 18.1 and their latest version of the application, so they have no excuse for this. I’ll never use their scooter again.

Frustrating Parking Restrictions and Unfair Charges
I recently used a Lime bike for my commute, hoping it would be a convenient way to get to work on time. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but smooth.
After riding to my destination, I discovered there were no available parking spots anywhere nearby. The app didn’t warn me of this beforehand, and the closest approved parking location was far from where I needed to be. I ended up wasting time trying to find a place to park, only to return the bike to where I started, which totally defeated the purpose of using it.
To make things worse, I was charged an extra £5 because of the extra time it took, and I ended up late to work. Not only did this cost me money, but it also added a lot of unnecessary stress to my day.
Overall, if you’re considering Lime for convenience, be aware of the following issues:
1. Limited parking options – It’s nearly impossible to find a convenient place to park in some areas.
2. Unclear guidelines – The app doesn’t make it obvious where you can and can’t park, which leads to wasted time.
3. Extra charges – If you can’t park nearby, you may end up paying more than expected.
I would not recommend Lime unless they improve parking availability and give clearer guidance in the app. It ended up costing me more time and money than it was worth.

Incredibly awful customer experience, occasional convenience
Just walked a half a mile to a bike that had no seat, reported a problem and was told “end my ride” — but I hadn’t started a ride. Little things like this are a daily occurrence when you try to use Lime (I hesitate to say “depend on”, since nothing about Lime is remotely dependable). I park every day in the same (city sanctioned) spot but half the time it says I can’t park and half the time I can. Very little I can do on the bas days but ride around for a few minutes until the app changes its mind. Poorly maintained bikes — too the point of dysfunction — are bookable. Good story: I got on a bike which turned out to have a completely flat tire. But then I couldn’t stop the ride because “you can’t park here”. Maybe I can’t, but whoever left it where I picked it up sure did. All of these things show a profound, almost gleeful disregard for customers. This is a business being run into the ground, no doubt confident that they will be banned in most cities soon. I’ll miss the convenience, but will be mostly glad knowing all the frustration and chaos will be gone.

Leader of e-bikes and scooters in my books
I used Lime frequently recently on a trip abroad and they were a god send! Apart from a couple hiccups I can’t fault them. My friend noticed sometimes the parking zones were not registering so I’d park fine and then he wouldn’t be able to park in the same place. Also one out of 10+ rides faulted even when the battery was full but it didn’t cause a huge inconvenience and their customer service team were very helpful when I raised the issue after the fact. Most importantly their e scooters are way better than competitors like Dot. I was very loyal and only used Lime my whole trip for this reason. The ride is way smoother and more enjoyable than other scooters

Scam “faults “ in app
1. You can raise a fault in the app. Sure there is a help option in the app but when you choose an option, nothing happens so you never get to enter or read further details. I parked where I started and where 20 other limes were parked but the app said I couldn’t park there and wouldn’t update for about 8 minutes. That’s in clear sky in a park so GPS should be fine. The helmet with my scooter has no padding so I had to mess around with the helmet and a t shirt for padding so it didn’t hurt my head but the pause function would not activate. Overall app was really glitchy despite being on a perfectly functioning iPhone 13 Pro. Since each glitch lead to more income (more than half more ride) I’m inclined to think it’s intentionally left buggy. Last ride on a Lime for me.

Never again! Neuron far more reliable!
I usually use neuron, but on this occasion the only close scooters available were lime scooters, so I thought I’d give them try. Worst experience ever. For whatever reason whenever I stopped, it wouldn’t start again and I had to push it. Then without any repeatable pattern or warning it would eventually just start working again…until I stopped next. I changed scooters, checked battery levels, checked for slow zones etc. Couldn’t identify the issue. Nothing frustrates me more than paying for a service and getting absolute garbage. They say first impressions are everything, and I’ve never had a problem with neuron, so I’m never using lime again. Just going to stick with what’s reliable.

Awful and vicious service
This is a scam. The rides are advertised as cheap but end up costing extortionate amounts (even more so if used regularly). It does not matter that your journey is very short and quick. The app keeps saying you cannot park here and there. This forces you to keep looking for a place and waste time with the ride ongoing - at your expense. 10 minute journey ends up being 15/20min, half of which is just finding a place to park in - when the app doesn’t bug saying that you can’t park here whereas it is allowed. This is not just the red designated areas but most of the city apart from very specific locations. This completely removes the point of lime which is (unlike Santander) that you don’t have to travel ages to put it back into the specific racks. It’s now virtually the same. Also I am talking about small journeys costing £5-10 so imagine a longer journey (say, 20-30min) you probably end up around £15-20… the price of an Uber… Very, very disappointing.
Also, I had ACCIDENT because of a Lime bike last year which cost me to get two serious knee injuries and Lime never took responsibility nor compensated me, even to a small extent, after weeks of a pseudo “enquiry”. This was totally dishonest and evil on the part of a multi million company costing me money and injuries because of their terrible service. Beware of the bikes. It could cost you your life.

The back of my phone was cracked!!!
I was enjoying a ride and decided it would be safer if my phone was on the phone holder so I did that, I carefully placed my phone on the phone holder (I have a phone case) and went on to enjoy my ride, fast foward, I get home and due to the constant noise of the phone slamming onto the screen of the scooter I decided to check my phone and now there is a not huge but pretty big crack behind my phone so please make it safer and in a better area of the scooter, or just don’t add one at all.

Lime bikes and lime app
It’s decent, lime bikes themselves are quite good although some suspension would be nice for things like potholes and speed bumps. The lime app on the other hand. It’s not very good they could tell you a lot more and have a lot more on the help section. There should be the option (when you don’t have much time left) to cancel your ride pass (not refund but erase the remaining time) so that you can purchase a new ride pass. The App bugs out a lot like right now I have deleted it and reinstalled it because it is not working. I am trying to use the app and it comes up with a white empty map with scan, group ride, gift, arrow (on the bottom right to re locate to you), and personal (top left). I cannot click on any of these things and I cannot see any detail in the map or any lime bikes/lime scooters and no personal blip. Fix these bugs lime.
