Awful app; waste of money on a ‘smart’ machine

No matter how many tutorials I’ve watched,how many guides I’ve read, comments with advice on the reviews of the app I have followed, how many months of trying to set this up: the app does not connect. As the app does not connect to my device, it will not work. As it will not work it makes all the other features that aren’t on my washer-dryer’s dial impossible to access, and in effect I’ve wasted nearly £500 on a machine that has half the function I was promised. Completely ridiculous and a waste of time and extra money. Get a transitional machine guys and don’t waste your time with the different apps you have to have for every single thing these days. Wish I could give this 0 stars but that’s not possible.

Great air conditioner, broken app

The Beko AC works great, but this app is mostly just broken. After going through the setup process five times with the app failing over and over, I finally managed to connect it to the AC. It now shows the unit as always turned off. Oddly I can turn the unit on with the app, but it will still show as off, so I can’t control anything with the app. The app also requires registration, so the the only thing that probably works is them sending me emails… I wish this just worked with Apple Home, but I suppose then they wouldn’t have my email address.

Complete Trash

Beko. You have the money to pay an app dev company. This app is a joke. Half of it is in Turkish, can’t even add a device. Insanely slow to even get through the initial steps of handing over all your personal information (hint: use the money from selling people’s data to pay for a better app). Basically all the developer of this app has achieved is animating a spinning wheel because that’s pretty much all the app is capable of doing

Can’t connect - frustrating

This is frustrating: I’m using the most up-to-date version of the app, I’ve checked that location services and Bluetooth are turned on on my iPhone, and that the washer-dryer is turned off. I’ve also successfully scanned the product number and tried registering it as both a washer and a dryer (as washer-dryer isn’t given as an option), but it just repeatedly says that the ‘device could not be found.’

I appreciate this could either be a software problem with the app, or a hardware problem with the machine (which might be out of the app developer’s control), but either way it comes across as shoddy: other reviews suggest this isn’t an isolated problem, or a quirk of the machine I’ve bought. I understand that things go wrong, but it sounds from the reviews that this has been a long-standing problem which hasn’t been addressed.

I have sympathy for developers trying to get complex products/apps to talk to one another, but I’ve paid several hundred pounds for something that doesn’t do what it has been advertised as doing. Fortunately , the machine works without the app, but I don’t imagine I’ll buy anything by Beko again unless this is fixed.

Doesn’t Work Great

I managed to connect my oven fine but the app itself is a bit unusable.
If I try to control the oven from the app it freezes then crashes.
The recipe section initially looked good but the key step of what temperature and for how long to cook things for are missing. The step simplest says “cook using the programme” yet none of that information is in the app so not sure where you are meant to get the details from.
The only thing I have been able to do with the app is stop the oven when it’s already running so seems a bit pointless.

Fundamentally flawed

Had to download this PoS app to control my washing machine. Firstly it wants your location data all the time to control the device, not letting you rely on the fact that it’s Bluetooth and so innately location based. And even after all that it still runs at speeds that make glaciers look rapid, and overcomplicates every single interaction. Tldr: Trying to add a timer to my washing machine apparently needs my 24/7 location data in case I someone maliciously connects to the device, turns the knob to ‘connect to rubbish app’ mode and then tries to do my laundry for me

Edit: Faster response here than on my GDPR request for a copy of all my data, and to delete my account as there is no mechanism provided on the website

Dear Customer, with HomeWhiz V2.6.11.8 and newer versions you can choose to share your location only while using HomeWhiz or only for once to make the connection. Please update your HomeWhiz to the latest version

Once I got it working, it’s good!

Like others, I had trouble adding my washer to the app. Holding both buttons until the lights on the washer came up, then starting the add device process, I finally got it added to the app.

Once it was added, it kept saying remote control was off, even though I had it on the download program setting on the washer and the Bluetooth sign was on. Then I realised you have to tap the remote button so the phone icon shows on the washer. Now it finally works!

Does someone really work on this app?

I bought a washer-dryer and discovered that this category isn’t listed in the appliances.
Therefore I tried what available (washer or dryer) and both do not have my appliance.
So there’s no using the Bluetooth thing.
Does their developers too busy to list all appliances correctly?
Guys this isn’t rocket 🚀 science!!!
