This thing is incredible.
I’ve been using the Luna Display for a few days now and I absolutely love it. It’s super smooth with almost zero lag and has opened up some incredible options for my workflow!
Amazing tech using with iPad Pro (latest gen 12 in)
Using this as a means to connect my iPad Pro to my new Mac mini as a main display. Been using it for a few days now and am nothing but impressed. It transforms my iPad Pro not only into my Mac mini’s main display, but it is also touch compatible. Props to developers or the hardware and software
A must have
If you want to use your iPad Pro as a second screen (incredibly handy while traveling I’ve found) this is the solution you need to implement. It employs the right methodology (hardware + software) to give you the type of performance you expect. ‘It just works’ and that’s the best kind of utility.
Excellent solution
I work with two machines at home but when I’m not in front of them I use RDP to connect to one of them on my laptop, the problem is that it takes up screen real estate and slows me down....well, this has solved that problem by turning my iPad into a second screen and allows me to multi desktop again...works seamlessly and perfectly smooth....looooove it! 👍👍👍👍👍

Pretty good
This is a pretty good application. It would be perfect if it allows you to rotate the iPad by 90°. When you try to do that using the Macintosh preferences, it is unable to do so. So the iPad sticks out in a horizontal, landscape’s arrangements. When I would like it beside my computer screen as a portrait. Other than that this is really reliable. I used to use Duet, but recently it has been pretty unreliable so this is my new best option.

Simply put: WOW!
I have been looking for an alternative to add a second screen to my Mac Pro, and finally found it with Luna display. Works perfectly while connected to my computer, little lag when I go wireless but not enough to be annoying.
I truly recommend the use of Luna display

Simple second monitor support
I love this device, it doesn’t just mirror the primary screen, it extended to provide a second screen with hardware acceleration. When on usb cable, it’s unbelievably responsive.
Fantastic
Prior to the High Sierra update for eGPU support that broke some of the other external display software, I was happy with those. This solves everything - it’s a snappy external display solution that supports retina + iPad Pro retina resolutions, and uses less CPU to boot! I got the USB-C variant, and this is exactly what I was hoping for. I’ll be using this in the office and on the road with my iPad Pro 12.9”. Many thanks to the Luna Display team!

Better than Duet, but has issues
This is definitely better than duet. It supports retina, has a reasonable frame rate, and supports touch gestures. I love the Astropad app and use it frequently.
I have three main complaints:
1) Despite what their webpage says, you cannot practically use this over WiFi. The frame rate is around 2 FPS and it takes a couple of seconds to send those frames over. The other two items in this list are when using wired mode only.
2) Even in wired mode, there’s still quite a bit of latency. It’s about a quarter of a second, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’s definitely noticeable when scrolling, typing, and moving windows around. Having retina on or off did not seem to affect this.
3. To maintain frame rate, the screen drops resolution. Sounds reasonable, however their method of downscaling ends up crushing text, making anything in the moving area (like a webpage) is completely unreadable until you stop moving and it has a chance to catch up.
This is a minor issue, however, and doesn’t really mess up usability. I’d rather the app downscale than do what duet does and drop most of the frames.
This definitely shows promise, and if duet could fix the latency issue over wired and adjust their downsampling algorithm to avoid messing up text I’d bump them up to a 5 star.
Hardware used: 2012 MacBook Pro (with discrete GT 650M and quad core i7) and an iPad Pro 10.5 inch

Almost Perfect
I can’t say how many times I wish I had a second display when I was traveling with my 2017 MacBook Pro 15 inch. The Luna Display was the perfect answer to this problem. The extra real estate in retina resolution is just amazing. I use it for comparing spreadsheets or documents using both screens. But the ability to look at a .pdf file of a floor plan on my iPad while walking around in the space is indispensable. It’s a five star because it delivered on the promise during the Kickstarter campaign. My only wish is that it would allow me to rotate my iPad so that I could use the portrait mode for documents.
