Perfect for a compact mobile office

I travel every day and having two screens for my work helps my productivity. As a previous duet user I was frustrated by the lack of support and went back to just using the laptop. I have been using Luna for a week now and I can’t fault it. It’s increadable and has put me back to haveing an efficient 2 screen fully portable lightweight office and has helped me get productivity back up to where it was. I’m reccommending this thing to everyone.

Great app

I can use my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to draw flawlessly. No you will not get pressure sensitivity. For me that’s ok. I am using an animation program on my Mac. So this makes working 10x faster and easier. Let’s face it, it’s real hard to draw with a mouse! Only thing I wish it had(I could just be overlooking it too) is that it would keep your last setting as far as the orientation. I want to use mirroring. But each time I open it up it defaults back to left.

Incredibly Useful

Luna Display is great! The choice to use a hardware dongle on the computer side leads to a very stable experience that doesn’t seem as flaky as alternatives like Duet. And interestingly you can actually use Luna AND the latest version of Duet at the same time if you happen to have multiple iPads available - so I can basically carry around two extra monitors in a laptop bag, which is pretty amazing.

As others have said, there is a tiny bit of lag when the display rapidly changes, such as when scrolling, but it quickly disappears. I find I can tune out to this pretty quickly, and I generally use Luna as a secondary display so it’s not a showstopper. The good thing about Luna though is that when the display settles to being static again it looks perfect. This is different to Duet, where there is a constant look of “JPEG compression” even when what’s onscreen is completely static. And Luna is the only one that currently fills the screen completely on the 11 inch iPad Pro.

I must also say that the UX for the Luna desktop app and iOS app is much better than Duet as well, Luna has really paid attention to the details here.

Great work guys, this is an invaluable tool for people on the go, and even at home for one more screen too.

Amazing app!

I bought Luna Display to use my iPad Pro as a second display and there is no lag and is very responsive. Great customer service and support is timely and friendly. I highly recommend.

Positively Great

Luna Display has improved my personal workflow to a massive degree. Being able to use my iPad as a second display makes things like writing a email while referencing an excel file or coding while keeping documentation up on another screen incredibly productive. As someone who prefers portability to screen real estate, having the option of a second display makes my 13 inch MacBook Pro much pro productive. The app and device work together flawlessly, with no complex pairing required. I would highly recommend this to anyone who occasionally feels stifled by their computer display size. It really is a great solution for maximum productivity and portability.

Works seamlessly

After repeatedly failing to make Duet, or any other second screen app work, I decided to take the plunge on this hardware solution. The introductory video makes it clear why apps like Duet are unreliable (they depend on fooling the graphics card apparently), and this solution has worked perfectly right out of the box. The whole experience was thoroughly thought through and implemented actually, from purchase, to unboxing to installing, everything had that level of consideration and finesse that gives you confidence in a product. So yeah, no more messing about with glitchy software that’s trying to do something your hardware isn’t designed for. Solve the problem at the root and get on with working the way you want to.

Just works

Luna Display dongle arrived 15 mins ago, since then I have it fully set up and working with zero lag, really impressed and will make presentations of software much more interactive.

the way I wanted it

This is one of those things that delivers on what I wanted from the start - to be able to run my mac mini headless, and always be able go duck into it from the ipad without worrying it had a system update or rebooted.

Retina extension a tad laggy

Not sure if it’s because of the retina extension specifically, but I do notice in chat programs when a message enters the window there’s a split second of bluriness before the retina kicks in. It’s long enough to be a bit jarring. Otherwise it’s really nice and responsive.
