  • Couldn’t put down the game

I purchased this game knowing it was an offline game, however once you buy the 3.99 package to get the 3 characters it doesn’t register that you bought it unless you are online! How stupid is that? I even bonded my Facebook to it and changed the cover of the book to the other one showing I purchased it and it won’t play when I have no signal! I want my money back, the game is amazing and I can’t enjoy the extension of the game unless I have signal( I’m on a aircraft carrier in the navy so I practically never get signal) please email me or contact me thank you

  • The werewolf boss is way too strong

I absolutely love everything about this game, except the werewolf boss. I hate loving my deck and having a great time only to get to the werewolf who is sheerly unkillable. 35% health a turn, making your deck worse, resisting lethal one time, it’s all just too much. I plan on uninstalling to save myself an aneurism, but if you’re willing to have to constantly build your deck around the werewolf, and sometimes just autolose against it, the game is fun in every other regard.

  • Such a great game

This may look like another deck-building based roguelite, but it stands out from the rest.

This game has an actual plot; the different classes have clear strengths, but the ability to play them in different ways; the enemy visuals and voice lines have personality; and for a mobile game, the games aren't too long.

The game is easy to grasp, but gives you plenty of room to improve if you want to master it.

    — Despite this long paragraph, this is only a minor criticism, but the only criticism I could think of in this amazing game. —

The game does have a "skill tree" system, where you earn stars for beating bosses throughout your different runs, which you spend to buff certain aspects of subsequent runs. It's a nice idea, and I appreciate the fact that it's in the game at all, but it's rather shallow. It's easy to max out the skills after a few good runs, and then you just forget about it. I wish they could add something to make it more in-depth, something more to work towards, but it's only a minor criticism.

    — End of criticism —

All-in-all, the gameplay itself is great, and reminds me of Slay the Spire, the art work is wonderful, the gameplay mechanics are cool and innovative, and a blast to play in your free time.

    * I definitely recommend purchasing the DLC classes, as it breathes more variety into the game. *

  • A Real Gem

This game is great for those that love the idea of deck based roguelike rpgs, and not only to boot that, its a steal for one dollar. I have enjoyed playing all of the classes (though ranger least), and so I bought all of the dlc and it was worth the expanded decks and playstyles one could come up with. If you love Slay the Spire, you’ll love this gem for mobile devices, though it is easier and less punishing (until you continue beating hard mode to increase difficulty and negative modifiers).

  • REALLY ADDICTIVE WELL-MADE CARD GAME

This is one of my favorite games. It’s really well implemented on the iPhone XR which was a big selling point. It’s not greedy - you won’t get around to even wanting to buy IAP until 10-20 hours into this $1 game. This will probably become like Threes or Balls as one of the rare games that I keep on my phone forever and can happily play until the end of time.

  • Easily Favorite Game

I have so much fun every time I play this game, it’s the perfect deck building-rogue like for mobile! I was looking for a mobile Slay the Spire substitute and this is honestly an even more enjoyable experience since you can take it with you everywhere you go. I think all of the 1 star reviews for this game are completely unfair because nearly all of them are based on 1) payment issues which have since been patched and handled by the dev team who does great work or 2) complains that it’s a “rip off” of Dream Quest by Peter Whalen. If you actually looked, there is an envelope on the main page of the game that explicitly states that they got permission from Peter himself to collaborate and recreate Dream Quest. And they did an amazing job! The game looks absolutely amazing, with voice lines for *every!* interaction, which is impressive. I genuinely have no complaints for this game, and for anyone wondering, the in-app purchases are two DLC classes, a card magician and an apothecary, both $.99 and (since i love this game so much) definitely worth it. Hopefully this review does the game enough justice to convince anyone on the fence about getting it, but if it hasn’t...this game is 1 (one) dollar!! You would have to be an absolute mad man to read this far in the review and at least not TRY this gem of a $.99 mobile game. Best of luck to anyone getting the game :)

  • An absolute steal

Incredibly good game for so cheap. Reminiscent of Slay the Spire (thought without foresight of what the enemy will do), but I much prefer the art, storyline, voice acting, and sense of mystery this game creates. While it’s easy to pick up, there’s a LOT of subtle strategy to pick up re: how to structure your deck, how to time story elements, when to hold cards for future turns, etc. And the different classes play very differently, so I’ve found plenty of playability so far. The only real weak point I’ve found is some poor translations in some places (though it’s never messes up my understanding of the gameplay at least). Overall, a great game in its own right, and an absolute steal for such a cheap price!

  • Masterpiece

I will preface this review that I have beaten the game on hard as ranger/knight. Out of the hundreds of games that I’ve played on my phone, this is the first game that has provoked me to write a review. This game is visually stunning. Every character has his/her/it’s own personality and the way they show it throughout the fight really kept me engaged. I love the Tim Burton inspired art, and huge shoutout to the team for making every encounter unique. I really appreciate he time you guys took to perfect this game. By far my favorite phone game! I hope to see some new content and more from your team! Thanks again for an amazing game.

  • Stellar Game, A Steal at This Price

Hands-down the best deck-building game on iOS right now. Ignore the claims that it’s copying Dream Quest/Card Thief: it is inspired by both, but greatly expands and builds upon them.

The art is great, music is good, and the voice acting and writing is generally decent, and sometimes (unintentionally) hilarious. As others have noted, this game has been translated into English, and some translations are off. Bugs also make an appearances, but not often, and never enough to cause the game to crash.

My two biggest gripes—in an otherwise excellent game—are:

    1) some text descriptions don’t match their in-game mechanics, and
    2) some cards (e.g. Potent Strike) don’t seem to work at all

Highly, highly recommended at any price, but for $1, I think you’d be a fool not to give it a try.

  • Phenomenal game and responsive dev

I just picked up this game a couple days ago and wow, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to add it to my library! I’m honestly enjoying it far more than dream quest as I’ve found the difficulty level to be fair and adjustable. It also doesn’t hurt that the graphics/music are stunning - even the voice acting is done really well! Gameplay is fun, strategic, and best of all, fully premium. The dev was also extremely quick to respond to my questions, and for that, this game is 5+ stars. Truly excellent job, hope to see even more content in the future.
