  • It's THE ONE

Well.... I was One of those People Who likes The Fight Games like Taken, street fighter, Dead or Alive 5...etc. And I Was Wondering If There's A Game like Cup head style no Offense If there was one.( The music, The Fights Style) And I Know I Was Late To Join This game's Community And New In it's Grounds. Just Saying If I Loved A game I Would Buy it On Pc or Console, And Still play it on the phone Cuz it's Easier and Harder. ( Looking For The Game Was hard too) And The Characters Ohh the Characters They're.....They're Man I Have no Words To Describe Them This Game Will live Forever for me. Also Ganna Say the Best Character I've played so far is Peacock The best In my Opinion Maybe Low HP but The Damage Is What Sometimes I look for The higher Damage The Easier to take them Down, But Some people Would Disagree About it And As i said Before I'm New in it's Grounds.

Guys Keep Up The good Work, And Just saying You can Create DLC's on pc or Console It Would Help the game And I Would Gladly buy As far as it's Good.

  • Virtually perfect mobile fighter

I’m astonished at the level of polish and depth implemented in Skullgirls mobile. As a fan of the actual original Skullgirls fighting game that inspired this release, I was expecting for the ball to get dropped on the details in exchange for ease of play for casual phone gamers and not fighting game veterans. As it turns out however, this game uses its simple controls and concepts well to create a different kind of depth from actual fighters, the card game strategy and rpg elements of the game allow for the player to challenge themselves to take on enemy teams much stronger than their own in intelligent ways.
The game gives you a TON of free essentials through the story mode and although I have no need of purchases to progress in the game I am inspired to make them anyways to support the team.
Way to go autumn, I may be heartbroken by the end to updates for the original game, but this game is well worth the download and one of the best mobile games of all time

  • A faithful mobile version of the original

For everyone who’s seeing this review:

This is one truly beautiful game. Both on the gameplay aspect and the graphics.

Let me break it down: As you may have seen, this is a fighting game. As always, it includes its combos, characters, stages and what not. However, Skullgirls sets itself apart from others because of its basic components mentioned before.

As in, the stages are varied and different, the characters are fun in each one’s unique way, and the music, my GOD, the music. It can range from a slow Waltz to a frantic ramble of saxophones and trumpets, among others. The graphics are also astounding, each character and stage drawn by hand and animated individually. Heck, even the idle animations are well done.

On the gameplay, I will admit, though, that I’ve never played the PC version, but from what I can assume, it’s the same as the PC version. One big difference here is that the combos are performed by tapping a designated spot, making the execution of combos WAY easier (from what I’ve seen).

The main story is fairly simple to understand, introducing each character individually but not too long to make it as long. Each character’s main story segments still remain, which is fine by me.

All in all, this game is worth playing. Only problem: it occupies a little too much space, but for a game of this magnitude, it’s kind of expected.

    Good job, Lab Zero!

  • Disappointed...

Now I redownloaded this game ever since I lost my account data for over a year and couldn’t bare with it (it had a lot of gold characters which is why I really couldn’t bare with it). But I’m very happy that you guys added Squigly, but here’s what I’m most disappointed about. During the days when Skullgirls came out on mobile, the rewards for easy were great. Now, if I’m not mistaken, the rewards for easy now are just, what? Why are you just giving both bronze for skills and characters and not theonite? I completed the 2 big bands in chapter 2 and I was very disappointed. Considering the fact that that specific level stumped me as a beginner before. But seriously, why did you change the really great rewards to just plain bad rewards?
Nonetheless, I still love this game and I do recommend it.

EDIT: I didn’t realize how high the rewards were for both hard and expert, and I must say it really is worth for the easy to have low rewards. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Good Golly

    Dear everyone,

THIS GAME IS GREAT! This game has that sweet style of music that really strikes a cord with jazz fans, and the characters are pretty fabulous. (Hehe, just play. You’ll see what I mean.) Each character has a unique play style, though I have found a universal combo for most of the characters. [Start Strategy Zone] I love the unique abilities of each character, like Peacock’s Under-Uppercut (That’s what I think it should be named anyways, lol.), or Parasoul’s Tear Mines, they all have a unique ability that helps build on their combo. For example, if you use Peacock, swipe down twice, then swipe up if the opponent isn’t blocking, tap twice, then uppercut or use a Blockbuster, and their HP should vanish. As for Parasoul, since she has Tear Mines instead, use her charge attack to detonate against enemies. Tear Mines are more of an experience to achieve kind of thing, but once you get it down, melting opponents is easy. Whenever you aren’t fighting, block and wait until they’ve used up a combo or you can dash in. [End Strategy Zone] By the way, I have extremely potent RNG strength and can get Golds out of the singular Premiums, so don’t be like me. Save up, and get the 10. To the devs, I LOVE YOUR GAME! This is one of the more unique games I’ve found since... This is one of the first unique games I will ever find. I love this game like I love my teddy bear collection!

  • Room to Grow

To preface this, I LOVE this game!! I would gladly play for hours on end if you could, and I get why there are certain rules implemented. But, I have questions about the future of Skullgirls. Once again, the game is awesome.

Will there ever be an “infinite fight” mode, where NPCs just keep coming out? Or will there be a special mode for you to play with your favorite characters without using energy(but no rewards, because no energy is spent)? And will there be a PvP mode where I can fight my friends? Oh, and training is cool, because you can try out your moves and such, but it can get kind of annoying when they don’t fight back. Maybe there could be different levels to practice against? Also, I think the storage system for my characters is hard to manage. Could there be a better system? Thank you, and please keep this going! It’s awesome!

  • Updated this review changed from 4 to 5 star

The game play look great and the story and the way they set it up, only issue I’m having is understanding how it works and how to put the characters in play, I bought a few items and have no ideal how to implement them I’ve tried going to help menus and even tech support but it sends me to another site I have to login and I don’t like how it uses your email as your name, i don’t really want company name on a game wish you could change that in settings , I looked in setting how to and couldn’t find anything, looks great and I’m an avid gamer I just wish the interface was more user friendly.

Updated review: so after playing more and just going with what I did know so far, i eventually started to understand the set up better and maybe that’s part of Learning the game mechanics I didn’t think about that I just assumed I’d get how works right off the start but that could also be my impatience at work! Changed my 4 star to a 5 star, this is first time I ever wanted to update a review, my main reason for doing so is that fact the developer actually takes the time to read reviews and will direct you where to get help if needed. Thanks for your time I’d try the game out and keep playing for awhile even if you don’t get it at first, you will!

  • A Problem

So I got this game a couple of days ago. Judging by the reviews, it’s a great game. I would probably love this game, if it weren’t for a problem I’ve had before even ever being able to play. Yes, I haven’t even been able to play yet. I opened the app for the first time and it said that there was maintenance. Alright, I thought. Maintenance is fine. So I waited. And the next day, it said an update was available. I hit the update button in-app and nothing happened. Again, nothing. Multiple times over the span of, what, maybe five minutes? Still nothing. I checked my App Store. No update. I waited until the next day, today, and still nothing. I am unsure if this is a problem that is just because I’m stupid or impatient, or if it’s a bug that needs to be fixed. Either way, I won’t be able to even play until I can either figure out what I’m supposed to do, or if the bug is fixed. Until then, I’ll try patience and see if that was the problem. The only reason I’m giving this one star is because I can’t decide whether it’s a good game or not.

    Thanks

  • Worth your time

Skullgirl is such a good game, not only are the mechanics of the game easy to understand and master, it’s also very addicting. I’m the type of person that sees an interesting game and downloads it, only to find myself disappointed by its repetitiveness. But this game gives you so many things to make your experience different. It’s definitely worth your time because it can be a game you look forward to everyday like i do after I get out of school for example. Btw the art style in this game is one of my favorite art styles out there. It’s almost like a cup head vibe with the firehouse animation(?). One of the things I do hope is more stages and more characters. Like I’ve said the art style is amazing and you can do so much with it and the animation is already fantastic and very unique. 10/10 :)

  • /Fun (both short & long term) + NOT P2W

I remember when this was first out on the app store i kept just saying yeah later, since i was a fan on the console version after i played it like one time. Finally got it about 2 weeks ago and its been good for 10mins of play and anywhere to an hour. For a fighting game in my opinion thats amazing. Its not p2w you can get anything if your patient and play often which should come natural if you like the game.

Don't know what anyone is saying in terms of unlocking the game or w/e. I never felt that way and after the first 2-3 days i was able to play until i got bored or had to do something else for the day.

Your reading this still? Well get the game you’ll enjoy the fact that it also has japanese VA’s included. Only thing ill say is the character roster, maybe add 1-2 more of the active chars we dont need everyone from DLC but maybe a few.
