Needs a lot of work
Update: app is still extremely frustrating. App only opens half the time after the barrage of emails telling you to log in because they’ve updated your claim. When logging in, you tell it to remember you information. It never does.
This app is extremely frustrating. When uploading documents it just thinks about it and ends up timing out. You have to log in again, go to upload documents, choose your claim then go through the lengthy process of uploading again. The message center takes days to update with the process of your claim if it shows up at all. I have several that have not. I only gave it two stars because it is nice to file a claim right away through it does not work for any of my other policies like vision.

This is absolutely the most horrible, terrible, pitiful customer service website and system that I have ever tried to engage. AFLAC boasts repeatedly that they are always available 24/7. “We are here for you,” they say. That is total baloney because you can’t get thru to a human agent to save your soul!! The website itself is NOT user friendly. And the customer service number provided is totally automated and makes you make an appointment for a call back days away! And then when it does call you back it disconnects on you!!! Had no luck with the online chat system either. Same thing, it disconnected on me!! I am beyond frustrated with trying to file a simple claim. This whole situation will probably force me to take my business elsewhere!!! I am just days out of emergency surgery trying to file a disability claim and have done nothing but run my blood pressure up and waste many, many hours trying unsuccessfully to file a claim! 😡

Difficult
This app is very complicated when trying to access your acct, been waiting on my payment and there’s no way to track it and when you try to access your account it puts you thru loops, and when your getting started they make it so hard, you have to go thru the website and the app only gives you some info you must go thru the website to go into details with your benefits! I’m on maternity leave since September and I’m still waiting for my payment and when you call Aflac they take long to call you back!!. SMH just stressful they need to improve this and make it easy to get information!!!

Aflac Cancer Policy
I retired from the Oilfield in Alaska to find out four days later I had Melanoma Cancer. I had a Aflac Cancer Policy for 17 years at the company I worked before retirement.I forgot until the companies Payroll and Benefits specialist reminded me of the policy. I also have a Specified event policy to include Heart Attack & Stroke My policies are still current. The money I received fro the policy was unbelievable and helped out that me and my fiancé got to spend some time on Maui for Sunshine and Beach therapy. I would recommend Aflac to anyone. It’s nice to have if you need it. Thanks again Aflac

Terrible customer service
Better hope they get your benefit payment right the first time(but they won’t)because you can’t speak to anyone about any problems. Must keep faxing things (the same things) in writing. For the money we should be able to speak to a live person about questions and problems so that it is easily resolved! This insurance, when it’s sold to you, claims to be easy to submit claims and quick payments. This is true, but the payment is not correct even when complete records (hundreds of pages) are sent! Then it’s up to you to find out where they shorted you and send the same papers again. Could be much easier by being able to actually speak with someone!!

Waste of money
We have paid into an emergent policy for our entire family of 5 for years now. Unfortunately, my husband was accidentally injured…that injury led to two separate surgeries in his eye to only regain distorted sight…just happy to have been able to keep the eyeball itself. My husband is a first responder and military veteran, he did not do well with being down for over a month, but then to have to worry about all the bills was another level of stress. I felt relief knowing we had this AFLAC policy to help us. The toys bill we received was over $30,000 and so far our portion is $10,000 Aflac paid $80 dollars for the dr post op visit and $700 for the surgeries. This was a complete waste, I probably paid almost that in the time I’ve held this policy! Do yourself a favor and just don’t with this company.
For the record…I have never left a bad review in my entire life. I’m not that person, this has been nothing but a disappointment.

AFLAC is so difficult to file a claim when you are sick. I cancelled my short term policies
So hard to get paid when very sick. It is like hoops that you have to jump through after an operation. You would think Aflac would call your doctor! No you have to. Your employer? No you have to. It is so hard when employer delays sending forms to Aflac. The saleswomen is great but she can do so much it is all about getting to the dr then your work after a lung operation! For real I had a lung operation then heart catho. Good luck can’t drive no one to help so nothing. Now I can drive but no the blood clots were not from the accident which I fell and blood clots formed. What my knee is torn from fall then blood clots formed and went to my lungs. Then go back to light duty work and guess what total respiratory failure off to ICU again. AFLAC wanted More medical records than I can afford to pay for. So Now I cancelled my short disability plan. Will not recommend it as to hard get claim.

Claim payments
If I had the option for 0 stars I would have gave just that ! They botched my claim from the beginning . I was approved on 26th of July got nothing called them they gave me a run around on if I even had the ACH set up and obviously I did because it appeared on their web site it was sent and they mailed one and by the way to a wrong address. I called back this Monday and the lady said that my payments were caught up in the system what does that even mean but would process it and that customer service from that branch would contact me the next day …. Guess what no contact from Aflac nor do I have my payments either. Well I’ve reached out to Platinum Supplemental Insurance and I’ve also reached to Family Heritage and will be meeting both this week !! I pay my premiums every 6 months and my wife has her own separate policy but I’m sure we will be canceling even tho my premiums are paid up in through December my policy on Aflac website says I’m terminated lol what a unprofessional mess !!!

Claim still in review since June
This is Not the Aflac that I dealt with in 90’s. I had acquired the insurance through a former employer. After I left I wasn’t able to keep it. Fast forward I found out about Combined Insurance through my job. The coverage was good but a little pricy but they were FAST in handling claims. Well the opportunity raised to obtain Aflac again. I jumped at the chance because previously they were good. This has not been my experience this time. Wait time for a call back on two occasions was over two hrs. Claim still pending from June. I sent info they said it wasn’t enough info or they couldn’t see it. So I gave them authorization to get info from the hospital. They said if it goes pass 30 days they would send another request. Well over 30 days and they did not make a request. TERRIBLE!! I will try and obtain the info again myself. I guess you pay for what you get. 😩

Cancer is stressful Aflac is Worse!
When you get that diagnosis of Cancer it’s a scary thing. First thought is what’s going to happen to my family. Second thought is how am I going to pay for this. In my case I’ve had the cancer policy so it was one less thing my family and I had to worry about. Well I was wrong. I’ve sent in the paperwork already three times the first said clearly I had cancer I waited weeks before I had to call and ask where was the payment. That’s when they told me they needed another type of paper work. So I submit it no response had to wait hours to speak to someone before they told me that I needed to submit another type of paperwork different from what was originally told to me. So now I’m on my third time a week has gone by no update. I’m going to have to wait for hours for their customer service rep who if my last experience was any indication will treat me horribly and give me no answers. I’ve got more treatments coming up and don’t know how I’m going to pay. The takeaway here folks is don’t get cancer and please don’t get AFlAC. Their advertising is pure lies they don’t care about you or your illness and they will make you jump through hoops so they can avoid paying out. The payments to them are taken out without fail but when it comes to you they won’t pay. I’m thinking of getting a lawyer. So to end this review CANCER is horrible but so is AFLAC. May the odds be in your favor! It’s the Hunger Games out here.
