  • Outstanding App/Service

I was hobbled by a pinched nerve in my back. I created a RecoveryOne account, and minutes later was talking with someone who was able to prescribe a course of action. Minutes after that, I was using the app for my first session. Within 2 weeks, I was good as new. The app is excellent as it guides you through customized exercises, includes great video demos, loads of info, and uses the camera to watch your performance and suggest ways you can improve your form. The materials they send you are perfect for the needs. The chat features and feedback you provide get very timely responses from people who seem genuinely vested in helping you return to better health.

  • More helpful than I expected

I have had rigorous PT in the past on a different injury as well as several types of treatments for my current condition. I didn’t go into it with high hopes, but it’s free through my insurance. It also seems really simple and easy. I am actually seeing progress, though, and I hope it continues.
  • A great concept that’s programmatically challenged

Let me start by saying that I love the freedom RO offers for PT. For something like this that requires multiple sessions a week to be useful, independence is a game changer. This review is strictly for the app itself and not the service overall, which I have found to be very helpful.

That said this app is light years from where it needs to be from a product standpoint to compete with other health and wellness apps on the market. The technology side of the app is OK… for 2005. Rife with bugs, preferences don’t seem to keep when checking boxes, audio cues are inconsistent, and the demonstration videos for more vague exercises (example: scapular depression/contractions) are very hard to understand.

  • Innovative and perfect for me!

I am 51 years old and don’t like having to drive across town three days a week to do PT. I have been doing Yoga/Pilates/Functional Strength Training and after a recent injury suddenly had a huge setback. I knew I could recover from the injury but wasn’t certain I wouldn’t extend or worsen the injury. Enter Recovery One. Virtual visit with a DPT followed by a plan based on what was important to me. Ways to give feedback on each set of instructions, and interactive chats. So many times in the past I would go to the orthopedist to get access to PT and I knew my injury was nonsurgical but had to have the ortho visit to ensure it. I wasn’t certain with this injury but an ortho visit reassured me of the diagnosis…meniscus tear and baker’s cyst and confirmed bone on bone arthritis in the knees. Recovery One allowed for me to do my PT in the comfort of my home, using elements in my home combined with a pack they offered up and sent out. I actually use the app on my phone and airplay it on my TV so I can see the videos clearly. Exactly what I need for my aging body to safely remain active!

  • Love This!

Last year, I was diagnosed with cancer. It all ended well but I thought that was bad and then decided to finally pull the trigger on a full rotator cuff repair surgery. Well now, that was insane. I had in person PT and used it fully. I also had access to Recovery One and continue to fully use it. It is fantastic! If you’re remotely self-motivated and want to recover, this is for you. Currently, I still do my shoulder PT and now am doing PT for hip bursitis (because I laid on one side for nearly a year due to the shoulder pain) and that is going extremely well. I couldn’t feel more lucky to have found Recovery One.

  • Very helpful

This has mostly been a great experience, but there are still some bugs to work out. I had to give up on the motion sensor because there just wasn’t enough space in my house to get it far enough away. Also having it bark orders at me about placement while I was still trying to find a good spot was annoying. I’m also frustrated with the ratings part for each exercise. Apparently if you tell it that an exercise was challenging, it may drop the number of reps to a lower odd number which is a pain if you’re supposed to be doing both sides because it leaves you lopsided. Finally, I’ve noted that an exercise was extremely painful in the ratings section and had no response or change to the routine. When you contact the trainer directly, they are quick to respond though, so it works out. Just don’t count on the post exercise ratings to do the right thing.

  • Great way to path of recovery

I had frozen shoulder, I met online with my PT, he was great in listening to my issues and created a series of exercises. I followed those using guided sessions and did my exercises 4 times a week. It has been 14 weeks since my start and I feel less pain in my shoulder and improved range of motion, I would recommend it to anyone who can follow the instructions and show dedication to home exercise and take the path to recovery. Thanks to my coach Olivia and all PTs who answered my questions and guided me.

  • Almost perfect

I love the app and the service. It’s super convenient. It’s helping me recover in the most convenient way possible.
One small bug, the audio cues for the start, reps, etc for guided experience often does not work.
Other than that, I’m very pleased.
  • A Great App

I am in agreement with the review who wrote “Absolutely Amazing”. Not to take away from the app but it would be nice to have the ability to leave a message in the exercise. The feedback is always great, timely and encouraging. Another recommendation is for them to get rid of the close captioning (or at least have the option to turn it off). The captioning blocks the view on certain exercises. But these are minor (but should be fixed). Overall, it’s a great app.

  • Helping me get rid of my back pain

I have been using RecoveryOne for over a month now and loving my progress. My back pain is lesser and I am more flexible now. I get a sense I can be completely cured or worst case a lot better than I am now without taking injections or going into surgery.
