Deep pockets always win
Number 1 alliance is twice as powerful as the second rank and the rest of the alliance is just a fraction of the power compare to rank 1. They just pawned any alliance they want and people just ended up quiting because theres no way to catch up with the higher rank unless you spend a lot of money to speed up everything. You farm and farm and when they come youre dead. Don’t waste your time.Show lessMolson33

This game started off amazing and with so much potential, but then as the weeks passed the developer sustained severe brain damage and have progressively efed the game up and don’t even get me started on their so called help/support because there is none whatsoever. Does not matter if you have dropped a couple hundred into the game or not. They are rude and don’t even answer your enquiries. It is like they answer some question they make up themselves when they respond to you.Show lessdonIven

The game updated but it failed! I’ve played many of these ongoing base upgrade games that require money upon money upon money to continue upgrading base, needless to say the pvp content will require money upon money upon money. I actually like the content but afraid the cost for shielding and expense to build cool stuff means I’ll spend my 5 dollars then probably quit. If you manage to supply good content at low cost then it’s a winner but I doubt you’ll listen ????Show lessPyschō

Hi. We really try to avoid "pay to win" in Nova Empire. There are several very strong free players in the game and it's a game you can do very well in with just hard work. I agree with some of the other negative reviews. Good graphics and the ability to customize ship designs was nice. HOWEVER, there is no checks and balance in place. It is almost impossible to build up power (unless you pay a lot of money I assume). The large alliances with massively strong players like to randomly gang up on new players and new alliances. I was playing 2 days and had about 30,000 combat power when a player with 2 million combat power destroyed my base and fleets with no effort. No chance to defend. No chance to retaliate. There was absolutely nothing I could do except activate a shield at which point they waited until later to randomly destroy me again. My entire alliance couldn’t compete with just 1 of the enemy fleets. Combine that with harassment by other players and I deleted this game. DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON THIS GAME.Show lessNimitz87
Pay to win players ruined it
I started playing and joined an alliance. The graphics and play style were really fun. My alliance was full of active players who worked together and had a positive experience building our alliance and making friends. Then a whale started another alliance, and convinced toxic players to join. These players spent big cash to out develop everyone else on the server, and their play style involved constantly smashing other alliances and mercilessly farming any players that were not in their alliance. We could do nothing to avoid or stop them.
So we decided to jump to another server for a new start. We abandoned our old accounts and started over, building a new alliance, even spending some cash to get back to where we had been. And then an alliance with the same MO came after us, only this time they liked to harass us with words in addition to their actions. That was the final straw. Most of our alliance members quit playing, myself included.
It’s sad, the game is really fun aside from the OP toxic players who completely ruin it. Maybe if a system to prevent this kind of harassment were in place I might consider playing again, but the whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.Show lessEszette
Crystals......
Been playing about a month now. Game has been pretty engaging. You don’t have to sit on it and micro manage everything, but there is enough to be able to sit and play for awhile at a time. The problems that you quickly find though, are the build times and crystals.
Build times quickly escalate from 1 day up to a month in the blink of an eye! However, if you’re upgrading your station, you can atleast do other upgrades while you wait for a month to pass.
The real problem is crystals. You can increase your production of minerals and energy with upgrades, but your crystal production is ABYSMAL! And guess what takes crystals? Everything! So that leaves crystals as the games main source to get your hard earned dollars.
TL;DR: Fun game. Prepare to wait for upgrades and crystals.Show less000mayhem
Great game, great concept!
This is a good game. I just started playing a few days ago and I'm hooked. But there are some things about the game that could use some tweaking. For instance when i started playing immersed me well. the tutorial was thorough and subtle. But after a bit i started to noticed how alienated i was as a new player. I was alone I couldn’t find help right away from bigger players and my resources ran thin. My ships where sunk because i attacked something that wasn’t well described. It was a small moon that just said attack with a resource number next to it. Now Im stuck with no ships and a wait to accumulate small minerals slowly through my trading post. I wish that some aspects of the game where more detailed and that it focused more on the beginning player. I mean in the sense of accumulating resources and protection. It is hard to get places when you cant sustain a fleet long or go on resource run because all the pirates in your sector are 20k strength above your fleet.Show lessmikerikedyroo
Toxic Community
When I started playing this game I was extremely impressed by the graphics and simplicity of the game play. As time went on however I created my own alliance, recruited members and that’s when this game changed. Other lager and infinitely stronger clans began consistently attacking us and sending threatening messages to me and my members. There is no system in place that prevents harassment from other players. Just when my station gets rebuilt after an attack and I regain some strength to begin playing the game, someone else comes in and resets me. These mega groups will attack you for no reason regardless if your just trying to peacefully explore or gather resources, destroy pirates etc. They control massive areas and restrict passage through there systems. It’s almost impossible to actually play this game as it’s intended, unless you spend vast sums of money or join one of these mega clans if they let you. If your looking for a frustrating and toxic experience then play this game. It’s very disappointing because this game has so much potential. If the developers read this, please implement a check and balance system that allow small alliances to grow and develop without being constantly bullied. I am all for competition but there needs to be something that keeps the community in check especially when it comes to communication that is filled with profanity and hostile threats.
