  • Waste of money

    Only reason I got this is WiFi capability. Bluetooth range is not very far. Will not connect to WiFi even after deleting and reinstalling app. And restarting/resetting unit. Constantly beeping at me with message that Grilleeye is disconnected from you’re device.

    Sent help request to help desk. Got quick response. Was sent directions for reset, rebootetc that looked like launch sequence that NASA would use. Took the time and did all the steps.
    Same problems.
    Unstable and alarms show on phone days after cooking is done. I have started using the app with notification turned off.
    Would not purchase again.
  • Graphs still buggy.

    Latest update looked like it was working great until you get into around the 3rd hour. Then the graphs won’t load anymore. Just spinning wheel where the graph should be. The last time I used it before this latest update it would quit loading around 45 minutes in. Still can’t download the data either.
  • Disappointed

    I was really excited when I got this especially from Costco. I was looking forward to having a wifi thermometer where I could monitor the temps from anywhere as long as I was connected to WiFi, at least from my garage while my grill is in the back yard. Nope! It keeps dropping WiFi connection like a hot potato so I have to keep my phone within 20 feet of the device so it can use Bluetooth.

    The device shows BT and 5 WiFi bars and my phone shows full bars, BUT once the device looses WiFi connection, and it religiously does, it can’t pick up any WiFi signals even though the phone I use the app on has full bars. I finally bought a WiFi extender which is 12 feet away from the device, and the device itself shows 4 bars, but the app still can’t find ANY WiFi signals for me to connect to.

    I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times, but I am always seriously frustrated every time I use it. The only reason it even gets one star is it is the only device I found that reads 8 probes. Otherwise, I can’t wait for something better to come out.

  • Garbage app DO NOT BUY THIS GEAR

    Update: I uninstalled this garbage app since it kept spamming me with notifications about a probe being under temperature, despite, you know, the unit being turned off with no probes attached.

    Update: I also got an email from this company offering a “free” replacement. I didn’t take them up on the offer.

    I mean. Look at the other low rated reviews.

    The app is at best an example of how not to make an iOS app, what with its janky UI that clearly indicates this is indeed lowest bidder shovelware.

    Beyond that, it doesn’t even do its basic tasks at all. Constant disconnects, firmware updates that makes basic functionality stop working. Alarms and notifications that just spam you constantly.

    And of course the company in question is nowhere to be seen. They just show up here with copypasta from their equally useless website, essentially punishing you for buying their product.

    Spend the money and buy some thermoworks gear or the maverick. If you’ve just bought it, return it.

    From the hardware to the app to the company, it’s junk all the way through.

  • Shows promise, execution fails badly.

    February 2020 update: had to uninstall/reinstall the app to backtrack to a Bluetooth connection to attempt a firmware update. And then the update failed - “no connection to server”. Cool, lost all my presets and still no update. Graphs still don’t work. Downgrading to 1-star.

    App works well, so does the WiFi. Custom temp set points and editing is good.

    Graphs don’t work, and will sometimes crash the app.
  • Great product and customer service

    This company stands behind their product like few companies do these days. Fast response to messages and a great product. Couldn’t be happier with my grilleye.
  • Needs work

    Keep in mind that I have only used this for one brisket cook, so I am new to the app. First thing I noticed on my iPad was that unless the app was actually open, I did not get any of the alarm notifications. I think that I have everything set up on the iPad correctly for notifications. Also I noticed that the graph would not load, but for this cook, that didn’t really matter. Keeping hopeful that things will improve.
    I believe it’s only fair to the company to let them know about issues and give them a chance to make it happen. Keep in mind they are making this device work on multiple platforms and devices.

    Hello, Thanks for your valuable feedback. Kindly note that we do not have an iPad dedicated app, thus it is running in compatibility mode. Further more we have tested the app in an iPad and while the iPad is in sleep mode we are receiving a push notification approximately 10 seconds after the alarm takes place. Please update your device's firmware to version 1.131. ​​ Please go to GrillEye Pro app - Settings - Check Update - Update. Upon updating firmware, if it is not connected after 4-5 seconds to the cloud , power off / on the device. If for some reason while trying to update your firmware you are getting a network error, please do the following: - [x] On your smartphone activate personal hot spot. - [x] After enabling the personal hot spot , open the GrillEye Pro app and change the wifi network using the hot spot WiFi network. - [x] Update your firmware until your reach 1.131. - [x] Then add your normal WiFI network to the GrillEye Pro settings, quit and re open the app and you should be connected. - [x] ​NOTE: Before any update, make sure your device is fully charged.   • Terrible

    I’ve used this a couple times and it worked ok. Now when I try to use it the app says no probes connected even though I have 3 probes. Poor design and I won’t be using this product.

    Since there is no way to reply to the developer on here. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled and it still didn’t work. I have thrown it out and will not be using anymore if their products.
  • Great but won’t switch to WiFi when BT our of range

    I love it so far compared to what I was using but I’m still not getting all the benefits - the biggest miss so far is it jot using WiFi and alerting me no matter where I’m at in the house.

    I had to disable the device alert because if I lost Bluetooth connection it goes nuts. I know I setup WiFi but it doesn’t seem to switch. I have great WiFi so no excuse for bad connection - honestly I would rather being able to disable Bluetooth altogether.

    Can get 4 or 5 stars when this is resolved.

    Update: I contact support and afternoon a series of steps it was working properly. Thank you!
