Clerical Mistake

I used Galileo for over a year. I really like the service they provided until recently a clerical error on their end changed my prescription. I have a thyroid condition and this made my levels go crazy so I get a blood test they realize their mistake. The doctor does a teleconference with me to explain what happened. Since my TSH levels were so high they were in what is called a tap test I have no idea about this test but I got charged $160 for their mistake and they take no accountability for it so I left Had this been a different medical issue this could’ve killed me, and not one person besides, the doctor was honest about what happened. If you can own up to your own mistakes, I don’t feel safe with you handling my health.

Has gone downhill

I used Galileo in 2021 to follow up on a long-standing diagnosis of acne vulgaris and it was a great system! I quickly had a video visit with a physician who evaluated me and refilled my existing prescription that had been prescribed to me by a fantastic dermatologist (who now practices about 2 hours away from me - too far!). In 2023, I renewed my Galileo subscription to request another refill on this same topical medication. This should’ve been simple, but I had a really weird experience. First, whoever I was texting with did not introduce themselves. Then, they needed to change my case from “medication management” (aka a refill) to “acne vulgaris.” Sure, ok. Then, the person I was texting with asked for photos of my face. They had still not introduced themselves - I wondered who exactly wants a photo of my face? It was really weird. I would’ve been happy to do a video visit, but I was uncomfortable at this point. I messaged customer service asking to cancel my subscription. Then, the texting provider magically introduces themselves and insinuates that I’m confused - and tells me that a video visit isn’t how Galileo works. If she looked in my chart, she’d see that I had one two years ago. This app was good, but I can’t recommend it now, especially for the price ($90 to text with a nurse practitioner). There are better, more elegant solutions out there.

Easy to use on your time

I’ve always been a fairly active participant in my healthcare. Having chronic illnesses to manage means I struggle to keep appointments that I desperately need though. Enter Galileo. I started using the service during COVID and I’ve been delighted with my care since.

In the past 2ish years I’ve had exactly one “error” where the wrong form of a medicine was sent to the pharmacy (I required capsules but it was written as tablets). The team was more than happy to correct the issue and faster than my traditional dr offices have ever been.

As of recently the wait times are getting a bit longer, but considering it’s a text message like chat, it’s not that bad. If I couldn’t wait a couple hours for a response, I really need to be in an urgent care facility anyway.

Too Difficult at Every Turn

This app a great concept, but in this age there are plenty of apps with this same concept.

The staff with this team is somehow always very difficult about even simple matters.

They ask for photos but then complain about photo quality, for example.

They ask for your symptoms, but then they basically suggest that without a professional grade photo or professional-read at-home test they can’t even make a simple diagnosis like a UTI.

Honestly, if they don’t trust people enough to do telehealth, then they should not do telehealth.

After getting through all their up front difficulty, they often just say you need to be seen in person off their app anyway, so there’s clearly no reason to be paying for their services.

I have had this app downloaded for years because sadly it auto-renewed without me realizing it was set for that. So, I’ve tried probably a dozen times to talk to them about a simple healthcare issue, and 75% of the time I end up in an urgent care anyway due to this group’s unhelpful attitudes and practices.

Really just no point in having this app for anyone.

Hi Katherina, we're sorry to hear that you've had a disappointing experience. We'd like to look into what happened with your care. Please send us an email at support@galileohealth.com so our patient support team can help.

Besides one issue, pretty great app experience.

I’ve had a good experience so far with this app; takes a few hours or so to get a reply, but it’s way better than having to wait a month for an appointment with my actual primary doctor.

The only issue I have is that there’s no way to get any notifications? There’s a setting for it in the app, but doesn’t actually appear in my phone’s settings. So it’s pretty tedious having to go in and manually check for and update.

Quite possibly the worst care I’ve ever had

This is a joke. Don’t do it if you want to ever get real care. Initially i met with what seemed to be an understanding and caring physician. I went through the issues I was facing and they assured me I wouldn’t have to go and jump through tons of hoops to get my meds. Yet I jumped through every hoop asked that I could and they were never satisfied with it. I now have a lack care as I had canceled my appointment in person with a local physician. They lie and gaslight to try and force you to continue to use them by trickling out info needed or downright lying to you to get you to sign up. This place is unethical and the lack of any accountability, transparency of who you are interacting with or care of what you’ve already shared was astounding. A total and complete waste of my time and money. If you want to do tons of expensive testing for medicine you’ve been on for years with no issues and/or add a supplement that needs to be prescribed because of side effects for the OTC - be sure to sign up, that’s what they want to do. Order TONS of unnecessary and expensive testing. Without that you are dead in the water with them.

Andrea, we apologize that you had a disappointing experience with Galileo. One of our clinical managers sent you a message about setting up a call to address your concerns. We've also shared your comments with our clinical team and will use your feedback to improve our care experience. Thank you.

Amazing company/app!!!!

This was my first time using the app and it was very easy to use and extremely helpful for all my medical concerns!! I highly recommend them and I don’t know why more providers don’t do this route, especially during Covid. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Try something else

You will not get attentive care here. The doctors don’t follow up when they say they will. Half the time you need to chase down your own refills because the system is automated and poorly automated at that. If you just need something that spits out prescriptions, you might get by here but even for that there has to be better options out there than this mess. Galileo has also promised improvements that just haven’t come. And customer service basically amounts to “lol thanks for your feedback.” So no. Take your business elsewhere.

Found what I was looking for!

Tired of scheduling an appointment, waiting rooms, missing work and not even interacting with a doctor? Then, Galileo is for you. I’ve used Galileo as my Primary Care for nearly 6 months and I have been 100% satisfied with their service. $29 a month to have a doctor 24/7 home or away on vacation is great. The turnaround on Labwork results is impressive too! I also appreciate that I have All Options “open” vs tied into 1 particular hospital system. Worth a try!

So sad

I used to really adore Galileo they couldn’t help me with everything but for simple stuff, they were my go-to. But lately I can’t get them to get access to any of my records so I got them myself and sent them to them to try and get a referral to an endocrinologist bc of incontinence and low thyroid levels and hba1c and anemia. They didn’t give me a single suggestion. No referall. No medication. Not even iron for the anemia. They’ve changed big time and i truly wasted my money on that month
