  • Crashes whole phone

I really want to use this app but it crashes my whole phone. I've had apps crash before but never have I had an app render my phone unusable until I completely force-exit out of it. I'll check back and will change my rating if I can actually open and use this app!

Edit: thanks so much for the response! After the update, my whole phone is no longer locking up, but I still can't get past the logo splash screen without the app crashing and closing out. I see the logo for 5-10 seconds, then it crashes back to my home screen.

Hello, We appreciate the feedback. You are right. There was a bug in the last build. We apologize for any inconvenience. We have identified and fixed this bug in the latest release. Please update and verify that this fixes the bug for you. Feel free to contact us directly via mobileappdev@dfw.wa.gov or by updating your review. Edit: We believe the old build may have corrupted the app's local database. Please re-install and let us know if this fixes it. We are working on a more permanent solution for the occasional corruption issue for release in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Jake
  • Buggy

I tried this app when it first came out and it was working. Now with the 1.0.16 build 48 I can’t get the thing to work at all. Half the time clicking on the search bar doesn’t do anything. When I can click in the search bar, I can type something but I can’t actually get it to search. When I click on a body of water it’s not letting me see the rules for it. I tried re-launching the app several times. The sink button works 100%, but I can’t get the 3 dot menu to do anything ever. Menu on the upper left works, but there’s no way to search from there! Please fix this.

Hello, First, thank you for the feedback. We have been able to reproduce the behavior you describe for the search, and think the root cause is that the search table is occasionally failing to load. We are working on a fix for this specific issue now. The other (possibly related) behavior you describe leads us to believe that something may have gone wrong with the update of the app or refresh of the data. The map menu (3 dot) button is designed to be disabled when the app does not have the regulation data downloaded. The good news is that we just released a fix for this on late Saturday. Please update and let us know if that fixes it. Please note that one user did provide feedback that the download button freezes for a few seconds when the app first launches. We are working on that issue and will have a fix for it in a couple of days. UPDATE: These issues should be fixed as of the 1.0.13 release. Please let us know one way or another, by updating your review, or sending us an email mobileappdev@dfw.wa.gov Cheers, Jake MobileAppDev@dfw.wa.gov
  • I Like It

Over all the app is good. I wish that they would include the current years fishing rules in the app.

I like the ability to tag locations in the map filters. It would be prefect if you could measure the distance of locations and/or directions.
  • Good start!

What would make this app invaluable is adding information about species that are present in the given body of water and the seasons/chances of catching them, just like on the WDFW website.
Another useful info would be info on the most recent stocking (i.e. trout, dates/numbers/weights) for the given lake...
    Pleeeaaaasssseeee add those!
  • New to fishing

Since I’m new to fishing in Puget Sound, I think this app will be very useful. A few questions though (didn’t see where I could send these in via the app). Are we going to see the crabbing information for the MA’s? It would be nice to see this with other fishing requirements in that area.

Secondly, is there going to be a way to fill out a catch card via the app? A quick gps location, length, and species would make it easy (you could even include a pic).

Is there a thought for electric fishing licenses to be stored on the app?

Thanks for the work on this, you can tell it wasn’t made overnight.
  • Wa

It would be nice if there was an offline mode where you can view the regulations cause not everyone carries the reg with them and where you don’t have phone service and notification of new rules update. Also put outlines of sections of the river where the regulations are.
