Crashes constantly,

For a company working directly in UX, helping you create a seamless customer experience for people using your websites on computer and mobile, I cannot believe how desperately poor their own app is.

It has extremely limited capabilities vs working on your site on a browser. It crashes constantly (specifically during site edits or creating marketing campaigns: my up-to-date-app, for example, crashes every time I open and try to do a first edit on a marketing campaign). Dragging elements to edit layout on the site is beyond infuriating. The order history takes a million years to update, and when I frequently search for an order number or customer email I know exists, it regularly returns nothing.

Product updates have got a lot easier as have backend admin via the app but generally, the constant crashing or white blank screen makes this app fairly useless. I work on the go constantly and I often find myself having to delay important work until I get home to avoid working on my phone, which in 2024 is far from ideal.

Website is better

The app is terrible to edit your website on, rather do it on the web browser version.

It’s ok.

I’ve used this for a few months now, on a 2024, m2 iPad. It’s very frustrating at times because it constantly shows me pages with old edits and edit functions are often just not there, or not working (I couldn’t publish or unpublish the site because the “settings” button just didn’t work). I’ve seen a lot of blank screens or blank edit bars… you really need a desktop PC or Mac to edit websites to even a basic standard… this app is a little pointless… can’t even add photos or blocks… can only really edit text.

Not a fan

This app use to be good for making small changes to your website on the fly. Now? Next to impossible. When I select a page to work on I get the error message ”Something went wrong. Please refresh the page to try again.” Yet there is no option to refresh the page or anything for that matter. I have no choice but to force close the app, which I do, only to attempt to open the app and try to reopen the page and get the same era message! So I restart my phone, uninstall the app and reinstall and it’s the same thing over and over. No longer am I able to make quick changes to my website when I’m away from my desktop.

The app is also extremely wonky. If I try to copy a sentence or phrase, that’s inside of a text box instead of copying whatever I’m attempting to copy the text box just drags around when I slide my finger to copy whatever I’m trying to copy. So now the text box is no longer where I want it to be and the text I was trying to copy is not able to be copied. I give up on this app. It’s a waste.

App update ruins marketing analytics

I updated the app since it kept crashing, and now entering the Marketing section where I used to see email campaigns and number of subscribers etc., just shows what would display on the website (list of drafts, sent, automations, import subscribers), with no way to exit. Can this please be fixed, I'm having to restart the app every time just to exit this page.

Was Good, Now TBD

Buggy as hell. Websites are slow loading even with removal of data eating bandwidth. They used to be great and as a business that has the potential to be great they fall apart just when the going starts to get good and start focusing on profits. Example: Canadian government mandated decrease in credit card fees for Canadian Small Businesses especially for e-commerce and they sent a mass email informing businesses that they have decided to not apply the decrease and decided to NOT increase the fees and we should be grateful. Another mass email went out redacting their statements since the government mandated them and it was not a choice. Companies with this attitude and approach to profits will always fail.

HORRIBLE APP!

with the amount some people pay squarespace a month you’d think they’d have a decent app with the basics but this app is A JOKE! You can do nothing on it, if you add something you wanna remove, goodluck trying to delete it. You can’t do anything you’re used to going on your laptop/desktop. No development or improvements have been made and it’s frustrating. Already looking into switching from squarespace to another service that actually has a functional app.
