  • Easy to learn, fun to play.

I got this app after seeing a simple ad and was delighted with its quality. The game mechanics are a pleasure, easy to pickup, and don’t feel gimmicky. The two currency system is perfectly balanced, with coins being acquired in bursts and later on gems accumulate steadily. The prices for these in dollars is too high, in my opinion, but I’ve never felt the need to pay for coins or gems. The best mobile game I have.

  • This Game Needs Work Done

For starters, it needs a better reward system. Secondly, it need balance checks on some of the cards. For example, “Duke Mortecher” is a 4/7 that can bounce troops to hand. I don’t have a problem with the bounce part, just his stats. It needs to be lowered. Another one that was recent is “Atesh Tarsa”, who if you pay 2 energy, you give all your creatures Survivor 1. To combat this, either make a clause that says those with survivor cannot gain it anymore while on the field, or make GENERIC removal and boardwipes. This is because Atesh can set up a big board, then it is hard to even play anymore. However, the game is fun. At the beginning, it tells you how to play, but it does give a misleading impression that it is one of those campaign games. It is PVP. You get to play as your favorite space marine chapter (whether Imperium or Chaos), along with interesting warlords and lore that expands the Horus Heresy.

  • Second use for gems. Massive amounts of gems... no use

I am leaving a one star review due to the fact that there is no reward system for veteran players. Gems are the major reward for getting duplicate cards, in events, and even in chests as “rewards” to the players. These gems have become unusable to veterans that have most these cards and cannot use these “rewards”. Massive amounts of gems have be accrued by these veterans and due to the limited nature of the shop only carrying randomly generated cards (most if not all of which veteran players already have) there is no use for these gems for long time and LOYAL players. There needs to be a second use for these gems, one that veteran players can take advantage of, and one that shows this game actually cares for its most loyal fan base. Until something is done to rectify this issue, I will not change my review. Do the right thing and take care of your vets.

  • Pretty fun and varied

So I don’t write reviews or even play phone games. But this is similar enough to other games like hearthstone but it’s warhammer so it’s a bit better imo. There’s enough variation on leaders to change things up and you can get enough of the payed currency by just opening packs. All in all I’d say it’s a solid mobile game and you can play it for a couple minutes to an hour and still be able o compete with most anyone. Also probably not a bad idea to try and make your game a pc game as well that would broaden your playerbase and there’s loads of warhammer fans who want more games

  • Disappointed

Let’s start off you have to pay money to even get the legion you want. Then it wants you spend more money. All the time then you have to fight threw a super long Tutorial which by the way isn’t easy. Then when you get out you have grind you way up a crap leveling system facing way to hard AI like really. Then after all that is said and done if you lose you get nothing. Which I think is crap too the loser should get some kind of coins. But the best part is if you win you only get like 30 coin for a really hard fight. Straight crap. Don’t waste your time or money on this game.

  • Great game

First off I never write reviews, so this is already a great game. If you love 40K, get this game. It’s a bit of a steep learning curve, but once you get into it the game is incredible. There is so much free content, and both currencies in the game are possible to get without spending money, which is a major plus. It’s strategic, lore friendly, and a ton of fun.

  • Wonderful card game entry in the Warhammer universe

Excellent game, great story, wonderful strategic value. A couple of suggestions for UI improvement: everything seems a bit cluttered, with tons of symbols that aren’t really explained, especially in the card collection screen. Having a record of cards played in matches would also be a great addition. The art style doesn’t exactly pop, either, like Elder Scrolls Legends does, but that would be a large undertaking to improve.

  • Shame its so PTW

The bought decks are insanely powerful and have multiple cards that cost 1600 gems to buy(you’ll never get this much without $$,and they are randomly for sale so you can be sure its impossible to match the bought decks) gems to create. Its a real shame because this game is great...need a card crafting mechanic to balance pay to win decks. Would give this 5 stars if it wasn't so pay to win. Developer response suggested ‘I was having trouble progressing’...not the case just annoyed at OP PtW, maybe address that in your response instead of insinuating that I’m bad at the game:/

  • Weak

The idea of this game was great. Application, not good at all. Pick your side? Meh more like pick your cards. The game is sold as a choose your side during the Horus Heresy but it’s actually more based on the cards you get. Sure you can “fight” for the side you choose but with many restrictions or scenarios that don’t make any sense. Not to mention all the in store purchases are overpriced as usual and that’s counting the reward for win to in game money purchase ratio.
PvP idea is not bad for a card style turn based game except for the lack variety. Everyone, including bots, has the same Warlord unless you were lucky enough to grind for one or spend money (I wouldn’t ever) to get a new one. As stated in other reviews, certain things need rebalanced but won’t be.
Maybe in time the game will be better but as for now, no dice (get it Gamesworkshop? Because your games use dice)
Good luck to all those who try it out though. Someday a good Horus Heresy game will come out.

Thank you for contacting us, and apologies for the difficulties!  If you are having difficulty progressing, I'd suggest asking for tips to the community, either within a Lodge or more generally in the Discord channel, where there is a very active community, with lots of people willing to share ideas, deck suggestions, etc. Here are the links to the official social media channels: Facebook: facebook.com/HorusLegions Discord: discord.gg/7JQC7KG
  • Pretty fun

Pretty generous as far as free stuff goes, but the system for obtaining cards as a whole isn’t as rng as hearthstone, that being said some cards are much better than others and the company has to make money somehow.. the gameplay and depth can vary and the ui is irritating but I think this is a fun game, especially if you’re a 40k fanatic
