Best language tool I’ve ever used
I wish I had this in high school! It would have made studying verbs way easier! I’ve never been so consistent or excited to study verbs. Usually they would kill my soul but now it just feels like something fun to exercise my brain before bed. I am so impressed by the creators of this app. They do such an amazing job with feedback and I feel invested in the success of Ella Verbs. I hope it will be available in other languages soon! If one day you guys could create something like this for Japanese kanji or Chinese hanzi it would be so helpful! That might not be in your wheelhouse right now but maybe someday!! The developers are really on the ball here, helpful, quick to update, AND they listen! The verb drills can be customised to any way you feel like using it; homing in on one verb, or 15 of your choosing from 1,800 (+) as well as drilling regular, irregular, top 100 etc. You choose to use it as a game to fill in time, or as the Holy Grail to study ES verbs and finally nail them. They even pronounce the verbs too, so there is no excuse forgetting where to type the accent. Such a simple idea needs to be shouted about.Show lessPapertree321

This app is sooooo user friendly and fun to use. I enjoy doing the tests and don’t allow myself to move on to the next level until I get 100% correct answers. It’s so well organized and I’m learning to internalize the verbs in a very logical order. I love the progress I’ve made already!Bmacmur

Spanish verb conjugation can seem incredibly overwhelming to an English speaker. Verbs that follow a pattern are manageable to a degree, but the many irregular verb forms and slight spelling changes one must memorize are a real challenge. Ella verbs is perfect for this targeted learning. The quizzes are quick and customizable. A multiple choice format helps me think through the person/tense options while gaining recognition of how the correct word looks and sounds. Once that’s mastered I can move on to having to write the correct word myself. Interacting with the content this way is working well for me, far more so than the charts, notebooks, and drills I’d used in the past. Back in the US, and the app isn’t proceeding with an upgrade option. It simply says, Loading products. Help.
Best design layout ever! At this point, I have the free version because I am in Mexico, taking language classes, and my PayPal is being uncooperative. However, I want everyone to know how helpful the layout is of the conjugated verbs and the English conjugated meaning. I don’t have to necessarily remember if I am in the preterite or the Imperfect past or even future. The English tells me right away what I am looking for. After my 7 day free trial, I miss my access to all the verbs. I will get this straightened out when I am back in the US.

It’s a great app and I can def see myself paying for the pro version.
But when there are one time payment alternatives I don’t see why I’d pay $40+ for a year subscription (or the $10/month!).GratefulAsh

We actually do offer a one time payment (lifetime) for people who don't like subscriptions, and a Give Back program (free Pro access) for people who cannot afford the app. We understand that not everyone can afford it, so don't want this holding them back. For some context on why we charge for the app, we are a small team of two (Jane and Brian), who are constantly improving the app and releasing new features and improvements, having averaged 2-4 updates a month since launching the app 5+ years ago. I’ve renewed my efforts to improve my Spanish in the last couple of years - I’m working with a tutor weekly, listen to an instructional podcast to improve my vocabulary and comprehension, read the news in Spanish aloud to work on my fluency. But I found myself needing some old-fashioned drills in verb conjugations to improve my fluency, and this app fits the bill nicely. I can work with it when I have set aside some time for study, but can also pull it out when I’m in the line at the grocery store or the like and bang through a ten-part quiz. And the subscription price is extremely reasonable, so little to lose. Definitely recommend.Show lessmib in oakland

When I first was asked question of whether or not I knew a verb tense, I was concerned that I was back to a method similar to Duolingo. Boy, I was wrong…
I received my placement, and jumped into the lessons. This app has usage for each tense. The tense lessons not only tell you when to use them (shade is being thrown at a specific app 😂… yes this is a bit spicy) but also give you the equivalence in English! It is so hard to find this in any other major or well knew language learning app or website. I am hoping that the creators will gain the recognition they deserve because they are making the process of spooky and intimidating language learning not so daunting.
*this is also a wish from me to the creators… please create an app for French verb tenses and conjugations in the future. There are not many out there and the ones that are aren’t so great for your phone. You would be doing the lords work 🥹😅Show lessBarelyDairy

I have one other Spanish grammar app that I use (Brainscape) but Ella Verbs is a new favorite! I am an intermediate level student and Ella Verbs allows me to practice (in several ways) upper level grammar construction, strengthening my skills in what—for me—is the foundation of speaking another language: those darn verbs!
I also appreciate that, when you get an answer wrong, it provides the reasoning for the correct conjugation. You can choose to practice verbs in context, flash cards, timed practice . . . there are many options. It’s fun and helpful at the same time!
