I started socking money away on this thing Dec. 2020 and when I wanted to move some out I couldn’t remember my password. I guessed and unknowingly I created another profile when I actually thought I’d logged in. I tried sending money out but received error messages. Now I understand why. In the middle of this process all of the balances disappeared on the assets tab. Literally went blank. So now the page I used to track my balances as they grew in the different coins I owned, now was literally blank. I know I was looking at the right profile too because I could view the balances on another link/tab that showed me a pie chart instead. I know my coins are still there thanks to the blockchain explorer but the mnemonics will only bring up the second “profile” I’d created!! Not the original one with all my money! Customer service is basically non existent. After time on Reddit and speaking with Ellipal’s COMPETITORS customer service I have been led to believe that I must have created a “passphrase” when I initially set it up. I don’t think I did, I don’t think I would do that. Regardless it’s my only hope that I can think of. I will be trying every possible combination of “passphrase” that I can think of. I am trying to move tokens from ELLIPAL to exchanges but it says my original password is incorrect. Either there is an error on their part or I forgot my password. Either way I need to reset my password and there is no way to do so. Horrible interface
I repeat...DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
The Ellipal firmware has significant parsing issues while performing signatures on transactions, thus preventing coin holders from being able to sign transactions (ex. coin pair trade). Your funds will get locked into the app and you will not be able to move them. You also will not be able to successfully update the firmware for “updates” as the hardware device will NOT read any SD card used to update the device after downloading the file from the Ellipal site, even after following step-by-step instructions for formatting the SD card/connecting to the hardware device with the adapter.
Customer support is non-existent. A simple “reddit” search on Google will return a multitude of customers experiencing the same problems from over the last several months to year, without a resolution or intervention by Ellipal.
Please, safe yourself the grief of dealing with this product/experience. The device is a great concept with POOR execution and POOR customer support. For a device priced as high as it is relative to its competitors, customers deserve to expect far more for their hard earned money and trust in a project with NO REPUTATION.
STAY AWAY or purchase at your own risk.
This app is cluttered with bugs that will make the wallet completely unusable. From “pending transaction errors” (when there are none) and prompts for “insufficient funds” when there are abundant funds available to cover TX fee’s. This wallet will have your funds locked up due to HORRIBLE software with minimal problems you are having ever being due to the blockchain itself. Save yourself a headache and stay far away, any other hardware wallet is better than this company who clearly could care less about improving the basic core functionality of a wallet.
I was just about to order an ellipal device, so I downloaded the app and took time to look through the TOS and privacy policy.
For the most part, it is a release of liability for Ellipal.
Then, there is the data collection.
They state that they collect app usage data, which is a no-no for the type of app it is, especially in the crypto sphere.
But the copying of “all or part of your transaction history” is absolutely unacceptable. They need that why?
Other wallets do not collect any such information in either case and are able to provide customer support and such completely knowledge-less and trust-less.
They also do KYC/AML for the ‘earning’ function, which is completely unnecessary; and again, others are able to accomplish the same tasks without such data collection.
All this also defeats one of the biggest purposes of crypto and especially a hardware wallet: security, and key component of security is privacy.
That is just from skimming the TOS and privacy policy, but I am sure there are other problems, but I’m done looking at it.

Hello，if you use a cold wallet, you will need to sync your address to the app and then you can check the balance and transaction details.
These details come from information on the blockchain, we just collect the information that is publicly available on the blockchain and present it to you. This is the same for all cold wallets and hot wallets.
Your private key is stored in the cold wallet, which is completely decentralized and not something to worry about.

I set up a wallet for myself and my wife on the device. We can have separate wallets and share the ELLIPAL for signing transactions. It supports pretty much every coin I want. Make sure you have the hardware wallet for the app

Thank you for support！I question what is secure in this app as my doge coins have disappeared and they were in the cold wallet in the latest update. Until they rectify this I'm giving 1 star.
I invested into this company buying crypto and they stole it. I have all of my transactions listed and when I told them I have my transaction they purposely deleted everything on their end!
Luckily I backed my files up! But they are not responding to me and everything is GONE!!!
