Still full of bugs

So if there are too many jobs available, it times out- so apparently some of the jobs have to be taken before one can log on and actually see what is still available. Also it is difficult for a teacher to book off multiple days when they are sick. So students could potentially have multiple teachers for a multiple day job. It’s better than not having an app, but it’s still got a ways to go. Like it would be nice for a teacher to be able to leave comments next to their completed jobs, such as, parking is first come first serve, or secretary was surprised I took a French immersion job.

App doesn’t edit/sync with school board data

I tried on the app to change some of my locations for substituting, followed the outlined process, but the edit button wouldn’t save.
Instead, I changed locations via a form on the board website (employee self service).
I went back to this app a while later, logged back in — but it still showed the former set of schools. I logged out, logged back in — same issue.
I advise deleting the edit button on the app if it doesn’t work, & giving an indication of how long it takes for the app to sync with the board info.
Otherwise, it makes for a frustrating process, & raises the question: why bother with the app if I end up using the board website anyway?

Problems registering

The app kept sending me to a loop when I was registering. I had to authenticate using a different method. Also very difficult to change password for new accounts

Please add date sorting.

Over all SFE is a very functional app that does its job quite well, especially after some recent updates. However, I would like to suggest 2 improvements: 1) please add a date sorting option (most recent in particular) to the list of Unavailable dates we post. It’s counter-intuitive to have to have to scroll to the bottom of a years old list of dates just to check which ones I’ve booked off. 2) if a posting teacher adds more than one comment (typically an attachment) that extends the posting beyond the size of my iPhone screen such that one cannot access the Accept or Decline assignment buttons (you can’t slide it up). This has still not been have been fixed as of 2024 Oct 31… but should be.

The lowest level of customer care one might imagine!

They are not even reading the problem’s explanation you are sending to them! They, being creators of the app, redirecting you to sources who never saw and never dealt with the app (?!) The most negative experience I ever had!

“Fetching data from Server”

At times, this app is incredibly infuriating. It’s kind of a joke how unreliable it is— literally. I have heard several staff members and other subs make the same remarks I do about it never loading!! If you open it up and you see the words “Fetching data from Server” for more than 5-10 seconds, it will likely not load even if you let it try for 10+ minutes. On several occasions I have literally logged in and back out more than 5 times in a row and it will not load…wait 15 minutes try again…won’t load… try later that evening…still won’t load. It feels like you’ve won the lottery if you’re able to make it to the available jobs page, or even active/upcoming jobs you’ve accepted! Please fix this. The app would be perfect for it’s intended purpose, if it actually worked more than 25% of the time.

Stopped working

This app was working great. I sort of need it for my job until I went to sign in and I get the message ! Identity provider account not mapped with any SFE account. I tried contacting the app another way and just get bots sending me in circles. I can log into the website but it’s WAY less convenient. I really just want someone to help me fix the issue and maybe this will get someone to help basically.

Helpful, but only when it’s working

I’m so thankful that there’s an app and it has the option to block calls so that I can find a job on my own without getting calls all day everyday. BUT the app (and on the computer) is so finicky. Sometimes it says there are no jobs available and I cannot start another search for 30 seconds. Sometimes it only gives me jobs available for that specific day. And sometimes it gives me all the jobs available for the entire month. But I am constantly refreshing the page and spending so much time just trying to get the app (or website, both are equally bad) to actually show me all my options. The filter hardly ever works. 9 out of 10 times it says nothing is available. I’d like to simply search for a specific date, but apparently there’s nothing available for any dates you pick, even if you just saw something. The calendar option never works either. Everything about the app is great in theory, and if it all worked I’d give it 5 stars because that would be a great and easy way to pick up jobs. But nothing works! I’ve been trying to pick up a job I’ve been requested to do for the past hour but it’s not giving me results in any capacity. If it’s because there are too many users and it can’t keep up, something needs to be updated, because this is horrendous. I should not be spending this much time trying to pick up a job. And mind you I’m only trying to pick up jobs twice a week. I couldn’t imagine trying to do this full-time.
