  • You had ONE job.

I’ve been a patient for over 10 years. I want an app to do ONE thing: view my primary doctor’s available appointments and schedule a visit. Easy, right? Hundreds of other apps do this. Guess what’s the ONE thing you can’t do? SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR PM. You have to call and wait on hold for 20-30 minutes. Their solution? “If you want to leave a number we’ll call you back.” That’s right: phone tag (is it 1995?).

Sure, there’s a button to “Schedule” on your favorited physicians page, but it takes you right back to the generic scheduling page WITHOUT passing any of your chosen provider’s info. This app EXCELS at running you in circles. “Oh, I must have to select my doctor first, right?” No. “Oh, what if I request via chat?” You can’t. And chats EXPIRE so forget about piggybacking onto the chat from a prior visit. “What am I doing wrong?!” Nothing, the app design team wants you in circles until you give up and call anyway, so don’t bother downloading it.
    (This is me being polite.)

  • Hot Garbage!

Even though many users don’t like your new update/changed layout with bugs, (myself included!) your app is now unusable. After today’s app update (JUL 16, 2024) I attempted multiple times to login only to be met with a screen that says I need to update to the latest version after I did. I should have quit there, but wanting to view my after visit summary from today’s visit (which are not given for PT in Sycamore), I logged in anyway to find I can’t see any visit reference I had today.

Which is it…update to latest version and get messages saying you need to update or ignore the update message for access to the app which clearly needs an update that doesn’t exist? Either way, users are doomed! Congratulations on forcing patients to use MyChart so you have less human interactions with them, getting patients to rely on MyChart as the norm now, and screwing up your version of MyChart. Sadly, I write this knowing nobody at NM will read this or even care, but if this review discourages even 1 person from downloading and wasting their time on this app, it will have accomplished more than what you have done to help others with your app.

  • Version 2.0 less useful than version 1.0

For a multibillion dollar healthcare system who hires top tier consulting organizations to do the technical grunt work, the latest version of the app has been dumbed down so much it’s less useful than the prior version. Did this app go through user experience and quality testing? The design doesn’t meet industry standards or competitors’s apps. For people who have only a mobile device, this app limits usage to basic functions. Patients need to go to the full website to get down to business and get what they really need. Duplicate functionality, poorly designed navigation, duplicated data (ex why are my care providers listed three times in the same list?)

Truly disappointed in this app design.
