  • Charge twice for an upgrade I didn’t request

    I was happy with Domestika until this month where I was charged $160 nz for an up grade, it was simple to rectify the first time, I just had to cancel the upgrade with the hit if a button but two weeks later I get charged again but this time it hasn’t said I’d upgraded so there’s no removal button to hit. I’m still waiting to hear back from them let’s hope it’s rectified, I’d lost confidence in this app since this has happened.

  • Love the content but…

    iPhone app is glitchy and can be unusable at times in full screen at landscape. When rotating my screen to landscape, it will sometimes display just the Domestika logo while continuing to play the audio. The video plays as normal once the screen is in portrait mode again, but it’s hard to see anything and makes learning on the go from my phone impossible. Another error I’ve found is the audio from the course’s introduction video will continue playing while I’m watching the actual course. Obviously this prevents me from using the app. Both issues don’t resolve even after force closing the application. I just get lucky and sometimes it works, which is extremely disappointing considering I paid for a full year of Domestika Plus. The mobile site is more reliable but unfortunately lacks some of the features that the app has.

  • Amazing

    I love it that it doesn’t forces you to buy loads of useless lessons, just the one that you need. And the app is really easy to use! I love the offline download function - allows me to learn a skill on a long plane journey. The instruction is really clear. I hope it would have timestamps so that you can go back to a specific part of the lesson, but I can live with it. The selection of courses could be more but I like what I have bought.

  • Great courses but bad app unfortunately

    The course offers look fantastic and I bought already a couple of courses. However, today I tried buying another one and can’t make a purchase on the app. It looks like the in-app function is broken. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it but to no avail.
    Also, it takes ages to find anything as the categories don’t seem to work correctly. They only show a few courses but when you want to see all in one category they just show random ones.
    I have seen some interesting courses in ads but it’s hard to find them on the app to buy them.
    The website isn’t much better. The search function doesn’t seem to work and again impossible to find anything. What’s the point of having great classes when no one can buy them?

  • I love this app and the unique courses it provides.

    I absolutely love that I have the option to subscribe or purchase courses directly. The teachers are professionals in their field and the classes are easy to follow. And I love that they give you the option to be taught by Non-English speaking teachers and they provide the translations(captions). (Some translations are better than others so you have to pay attention to that.) I’ve found specialized courses on here that I have struggled to find anywhere else. I’ve already purchased 10 courses and am working to complete one of the projects this week. It’s been easy to use and watch the videos while on the go and when I’m at my art desk. Once I make it through my purchased courses I’m sure that I’ll be back for more.

  • Great courses—terrible customer service

    Trying to contact the company leads to an endless conversation with an AI “Chatbot” referring you to a contact form that doesn’t exist.
    I simply wanted to know how much it would cost to continue my Plus subscription. This information seems to be being actively hidden, so of course I canceled the auto renewal.

  • BEWARE

    BEWARE!!! Do not give this company your card details. I bought a course for $10 that wasn’t even good since the course was in Spanish and the English dubbing was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t bare watching it and then one day they charged me $150 out of nowhere in the name of some subscription that I have no recollection of signing up for. When I contacted them for refund they had an online bot that kept telling me that their subscription is not refundable. I’m now going through my bank to get my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

  • Deleted Account(buyer beware)

    Everyone read the TOS. It specifically says they can delete your account at any time without any explanation. And they will. Over the last several years I have purchased six of there courses through the app. With one of the last sales they had I purchased a course outside the app. In order to have the course in the app I tried to sign in to my account. However it had been a long time since I logged in I could’nt remember my password. As a result I inadvertently set up a second account. I reached out to Domestika. Through their online form. They gave a indication they could merge accounts. But instead of merging they deleted my in app account. Despite repeated attempts to reach with pictures of proof of purchase for my in app purchases. No one EVER got back to me. Buyer beware.

    EDIT: They finally sent me an email with instructions on how to get back into my account. Thank you.
