  • Can’t trust it.

    The app/device is bigger as far as accurately sensing whether the door is open or closed. I’ve had ot for about six months. After a couple of months the app could never correctly identify the door was open or closed. I had to disable the sensor because I could not trust it. I recently install the app update, which specifically said it fixed the sensor issue. Worked great for another week, and now tonight, the sensor is once again not showing the correct status.

  • Great product to open gate and garage door

    I installed Remootio 3 on my Ghost Control gate and have recently added a second device to the liftmaster garage door opener. It works great, but the app is missing good Apple car play integration.
    Geofencing opens my gate most of the time, if the application is running in the background, but does not work if the application is not running.
    When driving up to the gate, and trying to use Siri voice control, car play advises against using the app. It also requires unlocking the phone, which is not a really hands-free car app.

  • Loved Remootio

    I’m using it on a metal gate to enter our lot. The unit was install at no time, instructions were clear and simple, I share the key with my family and they all loved using it. No one look for the remote control anymore, when delivery comes they call me from the gate than I open it from anywhere in the world. For security I let my family to open using Bluetooth only, they must be next to the gate in order to open it.
    We have a small community gate and I’m going to install one more Remootio and will buy more users for all my neighbors.

  • Excellent app a couple drawbacks

    Update: with version 5.1, my Remootio 2 sometimes says “sensor not enabled”.

    The app and product are fantastic. I easily installed the device on my garage door with the help of the wiring diagram and the animated tutorial videos on their website. I had to play with the settings to get the app to tell me when the door had been opened or closed. When I share a key, even though I enable notifications on the user’s device and agree to the setting inside of my Remootio app, the user is not notified when he or she opens the garage door. Also quirky is that when some users open the garage door I, as the administrator, receive a notification that “Garage door opened by user name X”, but I don’t receive this notification for all users. Same settings enabled on each user’s device and same process followed when I shared the key with each user.

  • Latest version makes Sensors useless

    Recent update on iphone has a bug where gates with sensors say “Sensors are not enabled”. So you don’t know if it opened or closed. The bug seems to be intermittent as occasionally it displays gate sensor status but generally not. Needs fixing quickly.
  • Latest update issues

    Since the latest app update it keeps saying my sensors aren’t enabled on WiFi but shows them (most of the time) on Internet and Bluetooth. It then shows up in Wifi mode until the app is closed.

    I haven’t had any issues with them in the past and have been very happy with the 3 devices I have had for some years now.

    It would be really useful to be able to use this in the car. Could it be an icon on the CarPlay screen
  • Notifications

    The notifications on my Wife’s IPhone don’t work. Clearly a known issue as there is a “fix”. But it also doesn’t work. Waste of money if you can’t receive the door bell notification.

    Firstly, as a basic opener this thing gets 5 stars. Whether connecting via Bluetooth, wifi, or cell tower, it will open consistently. Connection is quick and the added sensor is nice for checking to see if the gate is open or closed. My issue is that the app touts additional features, but they don’t seem to work. Specifically, the automations don’t seem to work. I’ve tried multiple times to do a timed unlock hold with no success. The geofence is also spotty. Fix this AND add a CarPlay app and then it would be 5 stars.
