Could not upload updates to firmware

Tried multiple times to update the firmware and it would not work.

Response from developer

Shoot us an email at developer@saris.com. As long as location services is turned on, internet is available (the app downloads the remote firmware), and the trainer is blinking green, you should be able to update the firmware. We can help. Just get in touch.

Not very user friendly

After only two uses I am unable to connect to my Saris M2 trainer. This results in me being unable to recalibrate or update the unit. Very disappointed in both the app and the product

M2 wheel on turbo trainer

Had the M2 for a couple of years now! Great turbo no real issues, apart from a couple of Bluetooth drop outs, but firmware update sorted this out!

Response from developer

Hi John, Glad it worked out for you. Always a pleasure to hear happy customers!

Does what it says. Calibration seems to have changed.

Thanks Saris for keeping up support, especially for older devices.

One Q; I have a Hammer and did a FW update / calibration a couple weeks back. I now notice /feel compared to before the FW update, my in game (Zwift) output has changed - slightly dropped off. I feel like it’s more spin and less Wattage now. I changed nothing in Zwift. Only did the FW update and a post-FW calibration in the Saris app. Anything to this?

Hi Robodomo, 31.063 only had changes to how the protocol with FTMS works, nothing in the variables would have changed. Maybe the calibration helped reset some variables that were slightly off? Shoot us an email at developer@saris.com and we can talk more about it.

App does nothing

Don’t waste your money on saris products they can’t even get their smart trainer to sync to their app

Response from developer

Hi Ron, If you’re having problems connecting your trainer, shoot us an email at developer@saris.com and we’d be happy to help get you up and running.

Undecided on overall rating

I have been using the magnius trainer for a little under a year. In the beginning everything worked well. Towards the 3rd quarter I started to lose connection with Zwift. To be in the middle of a ride and the system looses its connection to where you must restart and begin your ride all over again. This in my book is except able. I have made sure the firmware is up to date, calibrated, a good internet connection. I’ve used iOS and windows computer system with the same results. I’m still unsure if it’s the communication between the trainer or it’s the communication between Zwift and trainer or my internet connection for which I have added a WiFi extender and checked my WiFi router and it’s connection to the internet. Maybe if the people reviewing the reviews could pass this forward the problem can get fixed.
Overall I’m happy with the trainer.

The Zwift team is working on fixing the bugs in their software with regards to connection drops. Our software hasn't changed in a long time, so there isn't much we can do to help Zwift or other software vendors. If you feel it is your trainer, enter ERG mode using our app and walk away. The trainer should keep a connection open with a solid blue light. If your connection does drop, then there is certainly something wrong with the trainer and we can work with you on that. If not, that means your trainer is functioning as expected and it is the integrating software that is having an issue. Shoot us an email at developer@saris.com if you'd like to discuss this further.

Just not that intuitive

New trainer is now home and overall pretty disappointed with instructions and how the trainer spike power to the point it’s not usable

Does The Job

If you stick to the supported equipment, works flawlessly. Based on other reviews, most issues are due to user error or misunderstanding the purpose of the app.

Thanks Saris!

Only changes resistance

It is very responsive, easy to calibrate and set up. Wished it measured total wattage or time over the course of a workout.

Response from developer

Were you thinking total kilo-joules burned during an ERG workout? And subsequently time spent during the workout?

Avoid Saris Trainers and Apps

The Saris H3 trainer has recently suffered from an inability to maintain stable bluetooth pairings with Zwift and other apps. Saris Support has been unresponsive to voluminous customer complaints. If you would like to own a $1000 paperweight, then the H3 is for you; otherwise would advise that you consider other trainer brands. For further information, check out “Bugs and Support” threads in Zwift forums.

While we cannot support other software, try entering ERG mode from the Saris Utility. You don't have to be on the bike to do this test. Set a wattage request and make sure a blue light appears on your trainer. Come back in an hour. If the connection is still there, the Bluetooth sensor and your device are working correctly. If there is an interruption, send us an email at developer@saris.com.
