Not legal for TEXAS
“State laws and regulations do not permit the sale of tickets by mail, phone, or internet. Also, federal laws and regulations may restrict such sales. You must buy your tickets from a licensed retailer here in Texas.” I can’t say that their services are illegal nation wide… maybe some states allow it? But not for Texas.
Their marketing is clever - REALLY clever…
••You search “can Texans buy powerball tickets online?” or “Is it legal to buy lottery tickets online in Texas?” OR just search “Texas Lottery” and this company pops up FIRST and then their competitor site pops up…
••Scroll down 6 or 7 results and you’ll find the LEGIT Texas Lottery website…
••You’re skeptical, so you click on those extra questions “People Also Ask” or “Refine this search” and 9 of 10 answers will quote from this company/ this app- NOT the legit Texas Lottery site…
••They LOOK reputable online, featuring many “news stories” all over media in Texas…
••These are featured on ACTUAL reputable media outlets and LOOK like legit news articles - but they are just sponsored ADS (shame on you, Dallas Morning News, and many more)…
••Some even answer your browsing inquiries with article HEADLINES, like, “Texans can now play the lottery online”…
••Since they’re on a news station website (and they don’t look like an ad till you read the fine print) - it LOOKS legit…
Look, we can’t control algorithms or combat the massive A.I. manipulation on our search engines. To beat this challenge, and get the “top spot” on search engine results, companies (legit or not) have learned how to beat this. They’ve found ways to LOOK like EXPERTS online… but aren’t. (Kudos to whoever is managing the marketing for this company- seriously- you mastered marketing online. I just wished you used your talents for a better industry?)
Anyway, I can’t change the algorithms, instead I have to waste a few more minutes on research nowadays… and occasionally I post a review to encourage others to dig a little more too. Don’t let these tricks fool you - go online and check it all out for yourself.
Hope this helps! Don’t download this app- just go, or get a friend to go, to a local TEXAS gas station / retailer and buy you some tickets! :)
Poorly Developed
Do not use it’s a scam!
Response from developer
Hello, Our payout system is fully automated and regularly audited. Winnings up to $600 are transferred to players' accounts shortly after they have been received from the official lottery operator. Winners of prizes of $600 and up will need to collect their prizes personally. In this case, we will coordinate with the player how they will receive their winning ticket(s). As specified in our Terms of Service, lottery tickets are owned by the player, not by theLotter Texas. theLotter Texas provides a lottery ticket courier service buying official lottery tickets on our customers’ behalf, but has no legal claim to their tickets. In the unlikely event of a dispute, aside from the Terms of Service (which are a legal and binding document), we will also provide our customers with ample proof of ownership. First, when you buy a lottery ticket on our site, you immediately receive proof of purchase in the form of a confirmation email. Second, each transaction is permanently stored in your account, where it can be viewed and printed at any time. And finally, a scanned copy of your ticket is available in the My Account section, proving that the actual ticket was indeed purchased on your behalf. The scan displays the number selection and relevant draw information, as well as a serial code unique to each ticket. These items (legal agreement, proof of purchase, and the image of the actual ticket) firmly establish that the ticket legally belongs to you. Our entire operation is geared to ensure that we maintain our reputation as the industry-leading online lottery ticket purchasing service. Our track record shows that winning players get their money. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We would be happy to investigate this matter for you. Would you be so kind as to contact us through our Live Chat support and provide us with your theLotter Texas account email address? Your patience and time are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to hearing from you! theLotter Texas
Scam?
Don’t understand terms and conditions
I would say a quality service is not provided if they could be selling to people who may not be able to collect on a win. If you won $.5 billion, does the T&C keep you safe?
SCAM AND THEIVES
they have no problem taking your money via checking account but want International Documents to get your money back.
i’m talking 50 bucks, held up for over a month!
APPLE: ban this app and everything they touch.
PLEASE DONT USE THIS APP
I sent emails prior to them the day of drawing and received no response and never received a copy of my tickets per app notification and “website”.
Please do not use this app. Please do not use this app. Please DO NOT USE THIS for lottery.
A fix for account trouble
I contacted support thru chat they replied quick with a fix. Delete app then reinstall and log back in. Viola account and money all there. Don’t panic!! Just reinstall and keep
Playing. I do have to do it often because the app is glitchy but it does always work and my info and $ is there.
I have used this app a long time, if you win it does indeed credit your account the money. It does charge a fee- of course you don’t have to go to the gas station for a ticket. This is a a convenience.
Don’t use. Account is blank.
Check your fees
For example one bundle was $15, but $6 of it is going to a “service fee”. So if I bought 10 bundles I would be spending $60 on service fees out of $150 dollars.
Rip. Off. Says there is no commission. Yet they are getting their “commission” before the numbers are rolled.
Just go buy tickets yourself.
