  • Great beginning but now slipping in effect

Now on fourth refill. Initial effectiveness very good but most recent uses no where as consistent. Frequently left with soft nausea or left over headache.
Headaches more frequent — almost daily— which may account for decreased effectiveness

  • Good part of Chronic Migraine Treatment

This device has been an essential ingredient to my Chronic Migraine treatment plan. It helps other treatments such as non-rebounding migraine medication work with less medication and have a shorter duration of symptoms .
If I run out of Nerivio treatments, my migraines have been known to get out of control with pain and other migraine related symptoms. It has allowed me to stay off of narcotic pain medication.
The before and after assessments are wonderful to present to my doctors. I use a treatment at the beginning of symptoms for each migraine (even if it is every day.) it has been more helpful than other non-medication devices.

  • Nerivio

This device has helped me manage my Migraine Disease with one more option in my arsenal. The perks are that it helps most of the time and it’s non-medicinal. No medication hangover.
  • It Works! The guided imagery is amazing.

I don’t know where the negative reviews come from - sounds like some older folks who don’t manage technology very well. This thing is incredible! I cannot believe the improvement I have experienced with about 15 migraines now, especially the worst ones. The guided imagery is unlike anything be seen before - absolutely incredible!

  • Nerivio app is easy to use

The Nerivio app makes using Nerivio easy to use for treating my migraines. I also like the diary in the app so I can keep track of my headaches, which I can share with my doctor.
  • Beware, not a software product

Each device has 12 forty five minute sessions. If for any reason you cannot complete every minute of treatment (e.g. such as bad software design, software bugs, or miss understood instructions) your only recourse is to return the device.

I found that pausing the session for > 5 minutes cancels the session while still deducting 1 session from the paid total. When I complained, the customer reps acted like it was my fault. This is completely UNLIKE software items purchased through the Apple Store. Unable to get the full treatment I paid for, I returned the device for a refund.

  • This is useless

This is useless product. Whenever I have migraine when I use Nerivio my headache never go away. I have to take rescue medicine.
What is the purpose of using this if headache doesn’t go away.
This is waste money , waste of time, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
  • Never believed this would work

I’ve had migraines since elementary school and now I’m a grandma. I’ve tried everything. My treatment plan now is the best I’ve had, but I still get migraines. My doc gave me Nerivio as a trial. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then they added the guided imagery and that made all the difference in the world for me. I almost always get a positive result and feel better. I think I’d do even better if I didn’t wait so long, but I just read some insurance companies may cover treatments. That will be great!
Anything that works and isn’t a medication is top notch in my book. Thanks Nerivio. I’m not often impressed especially being a Nurse.

  • Easy to use and not glitchy.

I have waited to write a review until I felt I’ve used the device enough to confront any issues that might come up during use. I am now preparing to reorder my 4th device and can say with confidence that this is the easiest and least painful migraine device that I have used to date!

I don’t want to review its efficacy because that will vary widely for each individual with migraine and also depend on how they utilize the device. I do want to comment on the ease of using the device and the app.

1- App... The app is straightforward, easy to use and has a monochromatic color scheme that is as mild on the eyes as I’ve used, especially considering you have to use the app to connect the device. The device can be connected and the treatment started in less than 2-3 minutes though and then you don’t have to look at your phone. I’ve never had the app stop during a treatment or trouble connecting to the device or had any glitches during use whatsoever.
*I had one issue when trying to reorder my first device through the app when it wouldn’t work but that was quickly resolved by customer service and I received a follow up call to ensure that all was well so I was very pleased with how that was handled. Since that first issue though I’ve had no issue reordering through the app.

2- One of the things I like the most about the device is that it’s pain free. The stimulations from the electrodes are strong but can be controlled and not painful because the last thing during a migraine attack that I want is to add more pain. I’ve used devices in the past that were too stimulating to the point of pain and so were intolerable. This device is nothing like that and for that I’m GRATEFUL.

3- Price...I know that the cost may seem prohibitive to some but if you are like me you have likely spent more for fewer pills for a rescue medication.

4- Non-medicine device...Having a tool to use to treat a migraine that is not a medication is essential for someone like me who has chronic daily migraine. So if you have chronic migraine some sort of device is probably part of your treatment plan and this is definitely one I think is worth trying. If you are episodic then staying that way is essential and a good treatment plan is how you do it so I still think this is great to try because it’s not a medication and you don’t risk MOH.

5- Recycling... the biggest downside for me of the device is that it’s not rechargeable after 12 uses, it requires getting an entirely new device. They do mitigate that by having a recycling program; you just make a request and they send you a package that you return your device in for recycling.

Those are my thoughts about the Nerivio device, I hope they are helpful.

  • Overpriced, wasteful design, horrible customer service

I was really hoping to have an option to help my migraines without a medication. But there are so many things wrong with this device.
    1) It only turns on/starts a treatment when connected to the app, so an IOS update left it useless when needed. It’s also really difficult to use my phone while I have a migraine. Honestly the very last thing I want to do is look into any light source.
    2) There are only 12 treatments per device. This seems incredibly arbitrary and wasteful. And expensive.
    3) It has to work with the app, but by design (per customer service) also automatically disconnects from the app “for your convenience” during a treatment. So when I needed to adjust the intensity level, I couldn’t, because it was not responding. I had to reset the 45 minute treatment after only 20 minutes because it was too intense, but the app was not responding. I was docked a full treatment. I thought it was a glitch because the counter didn’t immediately show this, and assumed customer service would help. Nope. I was basically told it was my fault. I asked for a credit of one treatment and they insisted that I had used two full treatments in a row and that I should read the directions.
    4) The design of the app turning off during treatment negates its necessity. A simple power button and intensity control button would be so much easier to use during a migraine! The features in the app (a calendar of treatments and questions about pain levels, etc) are difficult to use when looking into the phone feels like a pickaxe into my brain.
I don’t think the developers considered the needs of the end users, and just went for the oooh it’s an app controlled fancy new expensive bells and whistles bs. Do one focus group with actual patients and I am sure the consensus will be that none of the features beyond the actual treatment is helpful.
So go for it if you want to blow $100 for possibly 12 (maybe fewer if it disconnects) treatments that are not be available anyway because IOS updated and the app won’t work anymore.
