  • Great mobile port of a classic

It’s great to load up this classic RPG on the go during a long car trip or commute. Beamdog did a great job adapting the PC classic to iOS. The combat flows pretty smoothly for a touch interface. I love Neverwinter the most out of the classic PC D&D games because of the steady flow of action in relation to the plot. Was concerned about reading tiny text on my phone screen but it feels great on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Definitely will want a bigger screen or an iPad to play on though.

Highly recommend this game! Thanks for the amazing port!!!

  • Soooo GOOD even with the bugs

It’s new and it’s bound to have issues. I hate that some people give low star ratings to newer games they’re scaring away prospective players and not giving enough credit to this masterpiece of a game. I’ve been dying waiting for another Baldur’s Gate-esk game to come out on iOS, and this does not disappoint! With hours of exploration and quests what more could you ask for? I’m not a “gamer” necessarily so I appreciate the adjustable difficulty settings. Are there bugs? Yes, like for example, an item that is needed to move forward in a quest is not in the chest or on the person that it’s supposed to be on. While I’m sure these issues will be fixed as the developers are made aware, at this point I don’t mind starting all over again with the hopes that the bug won’t happen in a new game. By far my favorite developer’s and game series!

  • Lazy implementation

First let me state I have played through Neverwinter on PC and thought it was an above average game.
However the iOS implementation is poorly executed at best. So much of the original interface relies on either ‘mouse over’ or ‘right click’ mechanics that it takes ages to achieve the same result stabbing at your screen with your dirty finger.
I tried the game after pairing a mouse to my iPad Pro, but no support there.
To add insult to injury, the tutorial and menu items all encourage you to ‘right click’. They haven’t even bothered to amend the tutorial to make it applicable to iOS.
In a shop, to find out the value of an item you usually mouse over. On iOS, you jab at the item, which ‘lifts’ the item ready to move, you jab at it again to drop it, and now we get to see the value.
Want to know if an item can be used by your class? Mouse over and it glows red if unable to be used. No mouse on iOS? Then jab and hold until the radial menu comes up, and now you can see if the item has a red background or not. For every single item you are interested in.
Honestly the poor control implementation has sucked the enjoyment out of this game for me. It really needs a bit of a rewrite, not just throwing a touch layer over the original mouse driven controls. At the very least, provide an iOS specific tutorial to explain the disaster of a control scheme to the player.
As far as I can tell (I don’t have the patience to even finish the prologue in the iOS version) this contains all the content and story of the PC version. If you can look past the poor control design, then you might enjoy the game for what else it can offer, but for me, in its current state, it’s a no thanks.

Hey there! We're already working on the next update which will provide beta support for the mouse and keyboard, as well as include a lot of game improvements.
  • Great game!

I love the campaign and the free dlc’s that are included, however, I can’t access multiplayer because the game says my cd key is missing. I’m not sure why this is, but I wish it would just allow me to play online . Overall, the game is super fun!
  • Problem with HotU

The original campaign worked fantastically. But towards the end of HotU, in the puzzler’s room (shortly after getting past the Mimic), the lightning blocking the doorway after doesn’t disappear when completing the puzzle (triggering all three floor levers on the islands, turning the gargoyles towards the door, and then pulling the last floor lever). So the game cannot be completed. I’ve played HotU three times and get stuck in the same spot every time. Developers, please fix that bug. I do enjoy the game but would really like to finish it.

Hello! You probably have Game Center turned off. Please turn it on and log into Game Center. Then restart the game.
  • Beautiful!

How beam dog transformed this game into a touch screen is just gorgeous! From someone with a tech background, I can tell y’all put a ton of work into this game. It will be perfect someday. Just beautiful!
  • tears of happiness

Well, I remember the day I met one little kobold... his name was Deekin. He so easily became my best friend in hard times of my life he was able to make my laugh. It was long time ago. My mom still reminds me how she found me crying in my room and when she asked me what happen i said I had to say goodbye to Deekin. I became older and from outsider I became a very popular girl in high school. Still lonely tho. In NWN 2 I met him again and he became successful as he dreamed. tears again and my loling mom hugging me. Now I’m 32... I will meet Deekin again... I will be happy. I’m so lonely my old friend I’m so broken and I so missed you. I’m ready for our very last adventure.

  • Almost there but for the camera

Having spent many hours playing over one hundred modules created by the nwn community in my youth, I purchased this version to play the original campaign which I have never finished.
While this seems to be a very good rendering of the game, the one real issue for me is that I can not unlock the camera. For some this may not be an issue if they like to play from a top down perspective. However, for those who believe that the only way to play nwn is from first person perspective because it is more immersive, then they may find the lack of control over the camera a bit frustrating. If this issue could be fixed, it would take the game to another level.

  • Good but frame rate issues

Generally great game. However, much like BG:EE on iPad used to be, any AOE graphic (spells etc) makes your frame rate unplayable (turned off every video graphic option and tried on various new gen iPads and iPhones with no difference). Other reviews link this issue to the most recent update and didn’t seem to be an issue previously (only just downloaded game so can’t tell). Until frame rate issue fixed I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately, once that’s done this is a must have!
