  • I wouldn’t recommend it

I’ve been doing piano since I was about 3 and I got into 1st grade and I had a piano teacher and she was really nice and so now I’m 8 and I found this app and I wanted to try it out cause I want to learn how to play songs on the piano but... it was doing ok till I actually started playing and i tried to do the songs and it just kept on telling me to PAY!? you know what I’m PAYING for that! You know what I’ll learn the piano ON MY OWN! I just have to practice and Practice I just need to be my self don’t spend MY MONEY for THAT! You know what next year I’ll take PIANO LESSENS there that’s that. Thank for reading everyone’s message they wrote.

  • Teaches too fast and hand placement is wrong

Don’t get me wrong, this app is great, but the reason it’s three stars is because it teaches too fast and the hand placement is incorrect.
I feel that the app expects me to know chords, but I have no idea what that is, and though I missed every chord in the practice, it still made me do a song with mostly chords.
Then in the practice, I went to the bottom of my screen and pressed the hands for the placement, since the app said I was doing all of the wrong notes although I was, and the hand placement was uncomfortable, and wrong.
You’re supposed to place your fingers two keys away from each other, putting your left pinky on the “C” key, and then lay the rest of your fingers on the remaining white keys.
Then, you put your right thumb on the “C” key that’s two keys away from your left thumb, and place your remaining finger on the next four white keys.

  • Skipping/stuttering

I liked this app and I thought it was worth the $ for the first 3 months but now it’s skipping really bad. Tried using my MacBook instead of my iPad Pro and it was worse. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m getting to more complicated songs or if an update changed something. I’m only halfway through level 7 so the songs aren’t that difficult. I do use a midi adapter and never had a problem with it reading the right note. It also drains my iPad battery really fast and I have the midi plugged in so I can’t charge it at the same time. As far as content goes I don’t think it is great for learning to read music and they barely go over timing/counting. The rest of the music theory/knowledge section is lacking as well. Also, I’d like to be able to customize my scales.

  • Extremely Limited!

I have been taking piano lessons since I was six, and now I am seventeen, and I have advanced greatly. I can now play songs without even needing help. As a seventeen year old, I wanted to find an app to improve my skills without having to pay money. When I press on the experienced button in the beginning of the app, it still takes me to easy things I already know how to do! Please make the experienced button take you to challenging lessons that can teach you different things than the NOTES of the PIANO! My second complaint is that it only lets you learn for TEN MINUTES a DAY?! Like, are you that thirsty for money? If you make it an hour I would be happy, because I usually practice piano for an hour and a half daily. But, TEN minutes?! That’s not nearly enough for a person to learn ANYTHING without buying your premium! I deleted the app recently because it just didn’t help me at ALL! If you’re a professional piano player and don’t want to spend money on a music app, don’t even download this, it won’t help you AT ALL.

  • Good for beginners but needs skip option

for the most part it's a really good app. I really like the fact that they included a mixer so you can turn off musicians built in piano sound when using a midi keyboard and use garage band or something else in the background. The only thing that would be nice to have is the ability to optionally skip components inside a single lesson because a lot of times I want to be able to play some song but not have to be forced to train all the small melodic motifs beforehand since they're usually quite tedious.

  • Song Library problems

‪I was considering a subscription so the kids could start learning guitar/ukulele BUT Yousician’s music library is sorely lacking and even biased. It’s all been “Columbused”! They have NO African American artists in the Funk category. NONE, as in zero, zilch, in FUNK?!? They include only 2 African American Artists in the Blues category. They have NO Latin music category and I could not find a single Latin song in any category, not even Latin Jazz, and there was NO Soul/R&B category either which is probably good since their music librarian apparently has an aversion to people of color. And it follows that there are no Hip-Hop or Rap categories. One has to go pretty far out of one’s way to create a library of American music that is this non-inclusive.

Please take the blinders off your ears, or hire a new music curator. How can you entirely exclude important, gigantic artists and genres of American music??
I’m sticking with Playground Sessions, which has been great for me for piano (I’ve progressed more in 6 months than I did over 3+ years of in person lessons.)

Hi, Thank you for your feedback! The best platform for your suggestion is the Song request forum here https://yousi.co/song-requests. • Best piano app ever!!!

I absolutely love this app♥️! I played a little bit of piano at school but never knew how to play with both hands. I constantly was searching for piano app and a lot of them would not let you advance unless you payed😣. This app lets you play 10min each day without having to pay and with just playing a few minutes each day I’ve seen results! I recommend this app to everyone who wants to learn how to play piano or just wants to keep advancing in there skills. I’m considering paying to practice for as long as I want and it will be worth every cent!

  • Good but...

This is a good app in my opinion but, something isn’t right. First, I used to have real piano lessons and this is not easy to play on. Second, every time I tap a note, it doesn’t play. Third, why money? Does every game have money in it? Fourthly, can you make the keys on the piano bigger, they are to small and I know small, I’m short myself. Anyways, I just got this game some bugs but I’m sure as I play it more I will get used to it soooo...keep up the work!🎹🎼🎹

  • Good but annoying bug

This app is really good for learning piano but there’s one thing that’s super annoying. When you are learning new chords/notes it asks you to play them, and the app often doesn’t pick up on it. It’s annoying because you cannot skip past it or reach any other lessons if you haven’t completed it, even if you are playing it correctly- so you cannot move foreword because the programming doesn’t pick up on it
