  • Very capable

I’ve been using unrealbook for years to collate my music, but there are a couple of things it struggles with so I thought I’d give songbookpro a try. What a well thought out package! The web server manager module run from the browser is just genius, I was able to copy across over 600MB of pdfs in just a few mins….I was not expecting it would be that easy on an ipad!

In use I found all the features I was use to but in addition gained an easier setlist setup and a neat “invert” pdf colours feature to make white on black scores that I think are more legible. I’m not a fan of the autoscroll feature but discovered you can switch to tap page changes….perfect.

Looking forward to more feature additions in future!

  • Can’t beat it for the price

Very useful tool. A place to put all your songs and find them easily. Organize as sets and/ or tag for easier searching. The easily adjustable, scroll speed is saved for each song. One-touch key change is great, It even automatically updates the chord charts. Adding songs within the app, with an online search or your own from the cloud, is a breeze. The only drawback is the in-app editor; it’s a bit limited and cumbersome, but not enough of an issue to down-rate the app. I use it more for practice than live, but it’s also handy to have at my fingertips for those “I used to know that one” requests.

  • It works but it’s a kludge to share with band members. No support

I bought this app earlier and it worked great until it didn’t. The last update left both our iPads helpless to Airdrop songs to each other. This is the second attempt to get an answer from John Salmon to ask a question. I’ve already talked to Apple about this issue and, if they are truthful, they are saying it’s an app issue and I need to go to app support. I’ve also asked on the Facebook group and it appears it’s going to place the shared song in the files directory. In order to get the song you must go to settings in the app, then to back up and sync, the restore library, then it will take you to your files folder on the tablet, then you have to search for the song you just shared and select that file and click open, then approve that you want to place it in SBP folder. Yeah, this is much easier than airdrop where one click gets it done plus it’s real handy when you’re trying to do a request while you’re playing a gig. SMH! If anyone knows how to work around this kludge I’d be interested to hear it cause I’m getting where really fast!

  • Ideal for live performance

I use Songbook Pro for live performances in our Blues band. It’s like an auto cue so I never miss a change or mess up lyrics. Setting up the playlist is easy and flexible allowing me to go seamlessly through a set with only one swipe between songs. Highly recommended.
  • Fantastic app

I love having all my music in the one place and being able to write on it has been really helpful because I can treat it just like paper music.
  • Life changing!!

Absolutely love Songbook Pro! Doing away with folders upon folders of paper copies. Much tidier and easier.
Being able to change keys at the tap of a button is amazing too. Don’t have to do the mad scribble down and dash to the photocopier to get copies for everyone.
  • Love This :-)

I used to feel frustrated by the ‘iPad musician’ who went through the motions, not bothering to learn or perform their songs with any amount of passion, heart or soul.

Then I personally came to a career point where I had so many songs to learn for different events, including new self penned songs, that I found myself struggling to keep up and bring enough new songs into my sets.

Reluctantly I dabbled and after a couple of miss fires, I hit gold with this app, and now it’s an essential part of preparation, rehearsal and occasionally live performance.

I love the clarity and simplicity of the interface and organisation of songs and sets, which makes those ‘in the moment’ challenges easy to embrace and meet with slick professionalism.

Even if I’m not using it for lyrics, a glance at pre-gig prepared set list ideas and song lists is always helpful.

As for bringing songs and chords into the app from online sources, changing keys and noting capo / tuning settings, it’s seamless and stress free. I’ve even been able to import all my own song lyrics from Word documents on PC, easily and within minutes, and edit songs and set lists using PC connectivity.

Keeping set lists for PRS is also an option, and accompanying musicians / guest singers can easily join in with the scrolling option also very useful for live performance.

As it is, easy to use and accessible, I wouldn’t change it :-)

  • Great app

Super easy to use and the fact that it’s a bridge guitar tabs etc makes it a beast
  • Love me some SongbookPro

I teach guitar and play professionally. I think I’ve tried all the big sheet music programs out there and I have ditched them all after finding SongbookPro! Standout features: No annual subscription, edits updates across devices, handles both pdf and chord pro formats, and has an online web-based editor so I can do the heavy lifting editing from a Mac or PC. Easy to share and find chord charts online. Transpose, auto scroll, Bluetooth page turner sets up easily, what’s not to like?! I have it on my iPhone IPad and MacBook Pro and I couldn’t be happier! You can even attach audio files (only one per song) to the sheet music. I suppose there may be some deeper level features to be added, but for me and my students, it’s the best!
