  • Promising, but not quite there yet

Orion is a very promising browser, but it's still in beta and is still very buggy. I've decided to put it on the back shelf for a while till they get things ironed out. I had tons of issues with bookmark sync between desktop, phone, and iPad. I really do like the concept--ads are blocked, it's very fast, and the interface is almost exactly like Safari.

  • Very hopeful

I am giving 5 stars because of its concepts to aim high with security & features. I was excited when I found out it allows extensions but that didn’t last long on my iOS version as none seem to work yet but I am not giving up as it will be amazing if they eventually get them working.
Other than that I really am still impressed & Hope security stays high on priority.
I hope the developers & any volunteers continue with solutions & not give up as it’s the 1st iOS browser I have come across with its vision.
I am looking to now install it on my Mac.

  • Orion Browser ios and osx...

Loaded up on my iPhone and my iMac. UI pretty similar to other browsers I use, always on the lookout for less bloat, hoping Orion will continue trend toward minimalistic simplicity. Have an issue on my Mac/osx, extensions will not load from Chrome store, just boots me off back to manager. I really need to have certain Chrome extensions loaded in my browser that are not loading. Fix that and you get five stars.

  • Has promise but often crashes

I like the concept but this app freezes. A lot. Especially since the latest update. Dev should rollback the version until this is fixed.

I primarily experience a frozen app after I have gone to some site and then swiped to other apps. After awhile when I come back to use this app it’s frozen, will do absolutely nothing, and requires me to ‘crash’ the app to be able to use it again. Not a stable app as is.

  • Don’t care if it’s buggy, finally a browser that can use ublock origin

The UI for extensions is pretty buggy, but i don’t care because i can finally have ublock origin truly protecting me from ads while browsing the web on an IOS device. No other browser nor safari extension i’ve tested can handle popups and ads like this browser with the ublock origin extension can. Go ahead and browse to a sketchy streaming site and notice how you don’t get interrupted by ANYTHING! Finally

  • Needs stability

Frequently crashes, tabs very slow to close- closing one takes at least a second and can cause for a bad experience if you’re trying to close more than one tab. The browser can bog up and just stay frozen on the favorites homepage and not allow you to input a url until you force close the app. I’m a pro user of Kagi and I use Orion on desktop, with its own annoying flaws, and I’m writing this in best interest of the company. Kagi is excellent. Orion is hardly stable and you’ll probably just end up using safari half the time like me.

  • I REALLY tried to love it

Orion is a decent alternative to Safari on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS for casual use. I found it mostly good but it just doesn’t serve my needs as well as I hoped.

I find after having more than 20 tabs open on iOS or iPadOS, it basically comes to a halt and I have to wait a few seconds for it to let me interact with anything, even trying to close tabs. I use an A15 iPhone and A12Z iPad. (It may sound like a lot, but I’m constantly jumping through websites for work and personal).

SlideOver doesn’t work well on iPadOS, the share tabs and setting buttons overlap the address bar. The request desktop setting often didn’t work, so I usually got a blown up mobile experience.

Also, when using scribble on iPadOS, the Apple Pencil toolbar with the enter key and options wouldn’t show up when scribbling in the address bar.

  • A good start

This seems like a relatively new project, so I’m assuming a lot of this browser’s problems will be solved with time. It really is safari on crack (with a little bit of brave- the ad block is lovely) and I really like it!

However, it’s quite buggy. When in split screen view, the bookmark and share button end up over the search bar. Whenever I want to copy or paste something, it always asks me to allow it (maybe it’s a setting I need to change?). It’s totally understandable that the desktop browser extension integration is clunky since it says it’s still experimental, but some of them straight up don’t work. Things that need a popup, like Yomichan, are almost useless in Orion.

I’m really excited to see where this browser goes. It looks really promising!

  • No Dark Mode

Orion doesn’t have a Dark Mode. That’s not acceptable. Unless you like to blast your face with bright white screens late at night, then you might love this app. I’ll change my review when then fix the problem.
  • Pretty neat

ublock origin does not seem to work, brings up a blank screen when I try to configure it.

browser sometimes lags but switching away and back fixes it.
