User Reviews: Mullvad VPN

  • Fantastic app, fantastic service

Love Mullvad and have been using them for awhile now. The new app is so handy compared to before, where you’d have to download configurations manually and put them into the wireguard app.

There is one bug to be aware of - I had already paid for an extra month, but the app didn’t reflect this, and locked me out based on my previous expiration date. I had to log out and log back in to see the new date and get my service back.
  • Best VPN Service Gets Perfect App

I’ve been using Mullvad since January of 2020, even before the iOS app was released. The service is always fast, responsive, and absolutely private (tested via various internet speed checkers). The addition of this app makes the Mullvad service perfect. A simple app for a foolproof service, you can’t go wrong with Mullvad.

    The app itself works flawlessly.
  • How about a control center on/off switch?

Quick access to an on/off switch would be really nice. Actually what would really be nice is a way to exclude specific apps like streaming services that won’t work through a VPN. Maybe a timer that randomizes every so often. Maybe a way to turn off automatically on known WiFi networks.
  • Great start - barebones VPN app

VPN tunnel, importantly, works flawlessly. In comparison to using Mullvad with official WireGuard iOS app, would like to see Mullvad’s app add customizing Connect on Demand based on Network (known Wi-Fi SSIDs, cellular data).

That said, after 48 hours Mullvad’s implementation has been more battery efficient than the WireGuard app in my experience. Hope after long term testing that will continue to be the case.
  • Awesome product

I’ve been using Mullvad for 2 years and their service has been amazing. They were one of the first to introduce WireGuard support and their VPN is one of the best in the market. 2 years ago, when I was choosing VPN with the help of That One Privacy Guy’s website I shortlisted only two companies - NordVPN and Mullvad. They were the only two providing great security and set of features. I’m glad I didn’t go with NordVPN as their database leaked last year. With Mullvad there is nothing to leak - they don’t ask for account or any other information. This mobile app is also great - very simple and doesn’t create a ton of profiles in iOS like WireGuard. Love it. Tack, Mullvad!
  • Update: One of the best non reporting VPNs

It’s actually scary how many levels of protection are provided with worldwide support.

I accidentally got to the top of a well known chat platform just by TRYING to stay anon.

Definitely works as intended.. also be careful on the net... It’s a scary place.

    Hello fed. govt. 👋 I 🥰 U.

I did my research in worldwide privacy laws before purchasing, but I *AM* a long time customer.

p.s. I love how some of the included reviews are milking your high rating, and marketing for other VPNs. 🙄

If you guys ever need anyone to advertise for you, pls let me know because I love the service.

This, in conjunction with a few ad blocker and legacy ad blockers make any 🖥s insanely strong offensive beasts. 🙇

However, it’s not invulnerable. If you’re looking for network immunity (or offensive pen-testing) use a strong Linux or Unix build like Kali.
  • Been waiting for this - pleased with app!

I’ve been waiting for this app for quite some time. I had been using Passepartout prior to this. While this is an incredible start, I’m not quite ready to switch over fully to this app just yet. I would like to offer a few feature requests. Because I used Passepartout prior to this, most of my suggestions will be based off of the functionality and features of that app.

•Integration with Siri Shortcuts. So I can ask Siri to connect to the London VPN server for example or disconnect from the Florida server.
•Ability to favorite or adjust the listed order of servers offered. It’s great there are so many server offerings, but scrolling to the very bottom to select US gets old.
    •Advanced settings such as
    -keep connection alive on sleep
    -enable or disable IPv6
    -choose between UDP and TCP
-ability to view a debug log if desired
•More robust Account management settings from within the app.
•App icon changes colors based on connection status. (Because most newer iPhones don’t show the VPN icon in the status bar at quick glance.)
Please don’t be discouraged by the feedback; I love this app. I want to see it become an even more awesome app.
    Thank you Mullvad Team!
  • Update: Great VPN but can be Better!

I’ve adjusted/updated my review after playing around with Mullvad a little more. The iOS app is still bare bones IMO and needs more user options/settings but I expect that to come in future releases since this was just released as a standalone iOS app. So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I do like the anonymity of no user email, info, address, phone number, etc. Very unique and cool!

I emailed support a question so I’m hoping I get a prompt response.
  • Great Start

Most important feature is the app’s simplicity. Bare bones, yes. But it stays connected. I haven’t had a disconnect once since I downloaded this app last week, which is really all that matters.

Would like to see some more features that mirror what their other platforms offer, such as setting ports, switching between TCP/ UDP and allowing multi-hops, but a solid foundation is what’s most important for me.
  • Finally an iOS app...

It’s pretty simplistic but gets the job done using Wireguard.

In the future, I’d like to see some type of performance evaluator for each server so it can show you what the best server connection is at that point in time vs you having to cycle through servers yourself.
