Great home Internet control

I am a cyber security engineer and this is hands down the best router for protecting your kids online. Many router promise protection and yet they have huge holes. Gryphon doesn’t have these gaps and is very comprehensive. Their support is great as well. Highly recommend

Confusing

I really want to like this router. There’s nothing else out there that quite compares. I’ve looked and searched the Internet for reviews of several different devices that try to do parent controls and things there’s no button that says activate even if it is already active, it never says activate, you get suspend suspend in five minutes suspend in 15 minutes. Will the internets not working on that device so what in the world is going on on the homepage? How about just make a nice simple button that says Internet for instead of having to try to figure out what Group is not working or what’s going on Group make three categories that you put things in and always on category category that turn on and off and one that’s always blocked. Then you can talk on everything that’s in the category that can turn on or off and you can see the devices that are in those grouped categories. Well still maintaining the other groups real life scenario happens frequently. Hey dad, the Internet, not working. I’d like to turn it on, but it appears that Group is already turned on sorry kids don’t know why you don’t have Internet that stinks. Maybe I should switch my router, but I really like the features turn off the Internet.

Always an issue with the connection

Always have a problems to limit time. Buggy and very annoying to keep refresh.

3 Years of disappointment

I was a premium customer for 3 years, still am till it expires. I was always hoping for more, but never got anything. NO VPN, really! My kids cannot use this expensive parental protection router away from home on their laptop—- a $35 cheap router can do VPN, but not gryphon. I literally could write for days of 3 years of problems.. No webpage interface, no documentation, a FAQ section that only answers the most basic of questions, she should add “make sure the device is plugged in”. I really wanted to like this product, I gave it 3 years and over a $1000 dollars. TOTAL WASTE for me. By the way, I spend 3 hours today calling the phone support— over and over— tells me after being on hold for 6 mins no one is available, so I keep calling back.. Never got anyone. A chat did end up telling me that there is no way to do a VPN, and that there is no way for gryphon to protect my kdis laptops while away from home… Hope this helps. By the way, if you are reading this, it means Gryphon never did get back to me.

So slow

The router is great, the app is dreadful. So very very slow when carrying out the simplest of tasks

Gryphon

After using the Gryphon Wi-Fi 5 routers and their Wi-Fi 6 AX routers and software for years with nothing but excellent results and barely a hiccup, we had to switch our home router to that of Ring Alarm Pro and that’s where Wi-Fi that worked turned into something that’s suppose to protect your family but can’t tell you what sites or apps it’s blocking because even though you paid for it, you’re still the product. Gryphon doesn’t have and endless junk store that needs to be turned over before the next cargo ship from China delivers our next batch of outsourced and off shored items whether the factory has nets to catch their suicidal employees , or not. Those things cost money and you should put your money with a company that values your privacy, and safety, and at least provides you with some information whereas with other systems you’d be left guessing. While it may not be perfect and that may lead to more customer service inquiries and questions, the support team at Gryphon was always willing able to assist tracking down whatever the issue may be and following up to see if it resolved. Unfortunately, bigger isn’t always better as companies perspectives and goals are different. You should choose wisely as your home router is truelly the gateway to all of your information, data, files, photos, etc. Sign up for the newsletter and don’t let others marketing shinanigans get in the way of using this underdog companies equipment and software at front of your internet.

Decent router, poor app, poor support.

I have had a few issues with the towers not being responsive after a firmware upgrade, and app timing out. Support suggested reinstalling the app, which made no difference, so I eventually resolved it myself by rebooting all nodes.
Secondly, app states my premium subscription has expired, which it hasn’t, and I have chases support several times now with absolutely no response.
Will be ditching Gryphon after this.

Not bad but buggy

For what you pay it’s ok, but, buggy app and the browsing history doesn’t work with n my iPhone , sometimes if you log out the app and back in, you maybe get the current history , other times just “times out” , but you have to log out and in again to even get that far. Pointless having such a good router with a woeful interface

Waste of money and time.

The product is useless. It dies more harm then any benefit. You cannot control the internet leave aside malware and tracking.

Even simple routes are better the gryphon. I tried everything which gryphon team suggested but nothing worked.

Team keep you engaged by responding in 2-3 days to ensure you cross the 30 day period to return then router.

Toggles for temporary screen time changes do not appear on Sundays

Gryphon won’t acknowledge this simple and easily reproducible feature is broken on Sundays. Even after a factory reset. After many months of interaction with customer service just to try to help them fix this because this is one of the most helpful features to me, and one that was important enough to customers that they resurrected it after removing it over a year ago. But they apparently won’t prioritize it to just make it work on Sundays. It works on Monday through Saturday. Just not on Sunday. Seems like it should be an easy bug to fix. But they won’t do it. Until this recent update, I had a workaround in which I’d make a permanent change, then go to the dashboard, highlight a user, and the toggles would appear for a split second — if I tapped a toggle before it disappeared, then it would persist for that user only. But that workaround no longer works, so I have to make permanent edits to my Sunday screen time restriction when I only want to make temporary changes for that day.
