  • Does not retain BT settings

I have two Smart Lithium batteries. I was excited to see this app and the BT-2 accessory to monitor the smart batteries directly. While it does do this and provides useful information, I need to add a new device and over write the old one every time I connect. No such problems with Victron BT and app!

  • Not happy with new App

I am not happy with this new app for several reasons. First, it appears the app requires my phone to have an internet connection. This is a significant problem since the systems I monitor are very remote and do not have internet. Another problem is this app does not work well when you have more than one system to monitor. In the old app I could easily switch between my different systems. In the new app I must add a new device every time I want to switch between systems. Also, could someone please tell me why I need to be connected to a “Community”? I could care less about hearing what someone else has to say or telling anyone about my systems or setup. I need an app to monitor my systems, that’s all, nothing more. And certainly not something like another social app! I am planning to add another system next summer and I will not be buying Renogy products for it if they don’t make major improvements to this new app. Bottom line, if the old app continues to work after December, I will be using it instead of this new piece of crap!

  • Horrible design

Renogy have informed me that their mall “Renogy BT” will no longer be updated after Dec 2020 and users should begin to use this DC Home app instead. The app design is horrific, requiring users to navigate through many different pages to find the same info the Renogy BT app presents on one simple page. Worse than this, there is no clear structure to this app, it’s like solving a riddle to find where on the screen to access the next page.

Whoever designed this has no idea what off grid solar enthusiasts want in an app. Throw it away and start again with someone who has a clue.

  • For engineers

Perhaps when I get my degree in engineering I’ll be able to understand this app. I would much prefer simpler read outs. I am also not interested in the social aspect tho someone there may be able to explain what I’m looking at.
  • Need info about my system - not another social app!!

Just got notice today that the previous Bluetooth app will be going away at the end of the year, and instead we will have to use this app.

Gotta say... Not loving this app so far! :(

My entire reason for going with the Bluetooth upgrade was so that I could easily see where my system and battery was at... at a glance. Not so that I could have another social app. I see absolutely no reason that would even be a thing?!? Not sure what renogy was thinking here.

Most importantly though... This app does not have an easy to read battery level like the other app, and has way less info about the incoming power from the panels as well.

I really hope they incorporate the key features from the previous app to this app before they nix that one for good! Or keep both and let users decide which one they like more!!

  • Needs a lot of work

This app is only mostly functional. there are a lot of things I am unable to monitor through this app, i cannot see my battery levels, that kinda a big part of a solar monitoring app... seems like they put more energy into the social side of this app. I don’t need another social media outlet, sorry guys. keep trying.

  • Hope this would work

Seems hope is a very poor strategy. Followed the instructions. Plugged the BT-2 module into the Renogy smart lithium battery. Green power light is on. Launched this app, see the module in the app, left the name as is, blue light blinking, circle spinning on phone, never stops. Won’t save for app access. $900 for the battery, $80 for the Renogy multimeter, $38 for what appears to be a useless BT-2. Hope Renogy can resolve this.

  • Good app, would be better with more data like the Renogy BT app

I like the app and am currently using it with the BT-2 and Hub to display data for a couple of Renogy devices. Had a couple of issues with initial setup that was addressed with FAQ on the support site. Would like to see more of the detail available like seen in the Renogy BT app in a future update.
Range of the BT-2 is great. I can connect from a good distance away. Would love for the app to work in Apple CarPlay so I can get the data/controls on the head unit of my SUV where the Renogy devices are located.

  • App glitch

App says server error when I try to login, making it impossible to use the app. Can’t get past the login stage. I wish I could give it zero stars because the app is a joke. Zero functionality. 👎🏼

EDIT: I tried again and I’m still getting a “server error” message when I try to login still.
  • Easy to connect but sometimes won’t find my device in one try.

This is a quite straightforward app to use and I can finally monitor my DCC50 through my phone, however, sometimes I have to try to connect multiple times before the App can detect my device, can you guys solve this issue?
